The firmware update process takes approximately 15 minutes to complete Release NEW IMPROVEMENTS AND FEATURES Reduced the time between when a user accesses a device and when video becomes available to the user. This release is viable for SECURE-SLA licensed devices. Corrected an issue causing excessive UPnP traffic from devices operating on Sarix firmware to Endura system managers. Corrected an issue causing a delay greater than one second when accessing video from cameras operating on Sarix version through a VCD display Release Corrected an issue that caused devices operating on Sarix firmware version 1.9 to appear offline in an Endura environment when connected to Endura through a level 3 switch. Corrected an issue that caused devices operating on firmware version or later to allow access to local user accounts even after remote mode (LDAP) was enabled. C1053RN-B (7/13) Page 3 of 7
4 1.9 Release NEW IMPROVEMENTS AND FEATURES Added support for IPv6. Sarix devices will support mixed IPv4 and IPv6 installations, but not IPv6-only deployments. Incorporated a licensing interface, allowing users to add specialized features to their Sarix device. Contact your sales representative for more information about the features available for your Sarix device through licensing. Improved overall system stability for uninterrupted video recording. Corrected an issue causing the Web interface and SOAP services to stop responding when the camera received an invalid authentication string in an HTTP request. Invalid authentication strings will no longer affect the Web interface or SOAP services. Corrected an issue causing a relay to stop in the incorrect state when triggered multiple times (by an alarm) in rapid succession. Corrected an issue causing a SET_PARAMETER call to the device s RTSP server with no defined parameters to return a 454 error. This call now returns a code 200. Corrected an issue causing the brightness slider to remain available when WDR was set to ON. When WDR is set to ON, the brightness setting is not configurable. Now, when WDR is set to ON, any settings that are unavailable will be unavailable in the Web interface. Corrected an issue causing Pelco API GetMag and GetPosition calls to return incorrect values for Esprit IP, ExSite IP, and Spectra IV IP H.264 cameras. Corrected an issue preventing the user from issuing PTZ commands through the arrow buttons in the Web interface when the HTTP port was set to a value other than the default (80) and Release The Sarix firmware version you install depends on your Sarix device. Both the and firmware versions contain the same features and fixes, but you must download and install the Sarix firmware version specific to your Sarix device. NEW IMPROVEMENTS AND FEATURES Linear PTZ Control: Added a feature that causes pan and tilt commands to move the camera at a constant speed, as opposed to accelerating. You can enable this option under the PTZ tab; it is disabled by default. Corrected an issue affecting the quality of snapshots taken from Sarix TI cameras. The snapshot quality is linked to the bit rate of the JPEG stream, so the default bit rate for JPEG streams has been increased from 1 Mbps to 2.5 Mbps, resulting in higher quality snapshots. Corrected an issue causing Sarix TI PAL model cameras to default to NTSC video. Improved error correction code (ECC) implementation. Corrected an issue that caused cameras, under certain conditions, to become unresponsive following an update to Sarix firmware if they were not restarted immediately before the update was applied. Following this update, you will no longer have to restart cameras before upgrading firmware. Corrected an issue causing analytic, contact, and Endura motion alarms to appear under incorrect search conditions when running an Enhanced Search from Endura workstations running WS5200 software. Corrected an issue preventing users from updating firmware on Sarix devices using Device Utility 2 (DU2) in 64-bit Windows environments. Corrected an issue preventing the focus from responding on Sarix cameras that were set to manual focus. Corrected an issue that previously caused a full-range autofocus to take longer than normal on Sarix cameras. Corrected an issue causing a single channel on NET5404T encoders to perpetually display a Connect Failed message. Page 4 of 7 C1053RN-B (7/13)
5 Corrected an issue causing a delay in PTZ response time when the Focus Trace option was enabled. Corrected an issue causing a five to six second delay in PTZ response times on some Sarix cameras. Corrected an issue causing inconsistent PTZ control speeds for some cameras when using the pan and tilt arrows or the virtual joystick. Corrected an issue causing a delay in preset acquisitions for D5118 cameras. Corrected an issue that prevented autoflip resume velocity from engaging in a timely manner. Corrected an issue that caused users to lose PTZ control of cameras at the autoflip point. Corrected an issue that prevented users from changing the HTTPS port assignment Release NEW FEATURES AND IMPROVEMENTS Pelco API updates: Added new features to the Pelco API allowing development partners to quickly support new camera models, configure multicast streaming settings, and so forth. For more details on how to integrate with our cameras, go to pdn.pelco.com. ONVIF conformance: ONVIF is an industry standard that allows basic interconnectivity between edge devices and video management systems from different manufacturers. All models of Sarix, Sarix with SureVision, Sarix TI, Spectra IV IP, Spectra HD, and NET5400 Series encoders now conform to the ONVIF 1.02 standard. Backup and restore camera settings: Following camera setup, users can now save their settings to a file. These backed-up settings can be used to quickly restore settings to replacement or factory defaulted cameras, or they can be loaded into new cameras for quick setup. Snapshot viewer: Users can now view JPEG snapshots stored on their camera s SD card remotely from within the camera s Web interface. Users can also export these images directly from the camera s Web interface. Adaptive motion detection analytics on all cameras: The adaptive motion analytic allows cameras to track objects in a scene and trigger alarms when an object (such as a person) moves into a pre-defined zone. Users can now configure this analytic directly from the camera s Web interface in all camera models, including non-extended platform models. Exposure compensation slider for night mode: Previously, the Sarix Web interface had a single exposure compensation slider for both day and night modes. This release adds a second slider to provide greater control over both day and night image exposures. Imaging enhancements: Improved flicker correction and reduced halo effects and artifacts in WDR scenes for Sarix with SureVision cameras, resulting in further image quality enhancement. Video termination on NET5400 Series encoders: Added a Web client user interface for setting video termination on NET5400 Series encoders. Date and time overlay formatting: Included the ability to format the date and time on the camera overlay to match regional preferences. Customizable port numbers: Added the ability to set custom HTTP, HTTPs, and RTSP ports to fit your network infrastructure and increase security. NOTE: The HTTP port number must remain at the default setting (80) when connecting to a Pelco video management system (VMS) platform. If connecting to a Pelco VMS, do not change the HTTP port setting. ONVIF AUTHENTICATION REQUIREMENTS All ONVIF calls to the device that alter the device state (typically Set commands) require authentication. Cameras running the Sarix firmware support WS-Security with text or WS-Security with digest authentication modes. The Sarix device and the client must be time-synchronous when using WS-Security with digest authentication. If the time difference between the Sarix device and the client is greater than 300 seconds, authentication will fail. In a standard operating environment, an NTP server must be used to synchronize time between the Sarix device and the client. If testing the Sarix device in a controlled environment, you can manually synchronize time on the Sarix device with the client time by logging onto the camera via SSH and changing the date and time with the date utility. Manual synchronization will only be effective for relatively short periods of time; without an NTP server dictating time, time drift will occur and the Sarix device will fall out of sync with the client. C1053RN-B (7/13) Page 5 of 7
6 NTP TIME SYNCHRONIZATION REQUIREMENTS An NTP server must provide high clock precision for the camera to sync with the server. Windows native NTP server application does not provide high clock precision, and will not sync with the camera. If using a Windows-based NTP server, use a third-party application to manage your NTP server. Sarix has been tested to work with Meinberg NTP, a third party NTP server application for Windows. If using a Windows-based NTP server, the Windows firewall (if enabled) must be configured to allow communication over port 123. Corrected an issue causing IMSO Series cameras to disconnect occasionally from Genetec Omnicast. Corrected an issue causing PTZ cameras to overshoot target objects when tracking behavior was programmed and enabled. Corrected an issue causing PTZ controls to lag significantly within the Web interface when the user enabled audio. Corrected an issue in Sarix with SureVision cameras preventing users from successfully turning off audio associated with a video stream. Corrected an issue in Sarix with SureVision cameras preventing streams restricted by session timers from extending past the set session time without causing an error. Corrected an issue in Sarix with SureVision cameras preventing event handlers from correctly executing when a user defined event occurs. Corrected an issue in Sarix with SureVision cameras preventing the text overlay (camera name, date, and time) from appearing when enabled on a JPEG stream. Corrected an issue causing Sarix with SureVision cameras to incorrectly show that they had custom image settings after factory defaults had been restored. Corrected an issue preventing Sarix with SureVision cameras from correctly returning to Day Mode when Day Night Auto Mode was enabled. Corrected an issue preventing the user from downloading bug reports from Sarix with SureVision cameras. Corrected issues in Sarix TI cameras causing SNMP commands to occasionally timeout. To prevent video abnormalities caused when using Quicktime to view video streams from Sarix TI cameras, Main profile H.264 is now the default setting. Corrected an issue in which SNMP no longer functioned on Sarix TI cameras after the user issued a SET command to reboot the camera. SNMP will now function normally following a reboot command. Corrected an issue preventing the Install New Certificate button from properly functioning in French localizations. Analytics are now properly translated in all languages in live view.
