3 Tykoflex splice system 9 /ETSI The Tykoflex splice system 9 /ETSI and T0 offer the following characteristics: Good organization design Easy to manage Optimum access Scalable according to needs Splices all types of fibre Accommodates all types of cables/ducts in the rack The splice system The splice system consists of different modules for mounting in 9 or ETSI racks, both indoors and outdoors. The splicing cassettes can be swung out from the rack for maximum access. Splice cassettes are available in two versions with frame or without a frame. The advantage of the splice cassette with frame is that all the fibre organizing is found in the back and the side of the splice cassette. Splice cassettes without frame is used where fibre is organized in for example a cabinet. Splice cassettes with frame are available in two sizes, 2 pcs and 8 pcs, pivoting left. Splice cassettes without frame are available in two sizes 2 pcs or 8 pieces, pivoting left and right. A smaller version of splice cassette (2 pcs) is available without frame, pivoting left. All components are made of Aluzinc and painted white RAL Transparent plastic lids are included with all splicing cassettes and cable modules. The wide version of the splicing cassette holds a maximum of 92 ribbon fibres and a maximum of 96 single fibres. Splice rack 9 Indoor The Tykoflex 9 rack for splicing cassettes has an open type design to provide optimal access to install the optical fibre cables. Various modules for inserting the cables are used together with the rack, from smaller to larger pivoting cassettes, and the rack can also be combined with, for example, ODFs, pivoting splicing cassettes, active equipment, and more. Splice cabinet T24 Indoor T-24 is a wall mounted indoor cabinet for a maximum of 20 pivoting splicing cassettes and a maximum capacity of 3,840 fibres, single or ribbon fibre. T0 Outdoor T0 is used in our FiA-cabinets (fibre in access network street cabinet ) 3x6 or 2x6, T 0 can also be installed in other types of cabinets with a minimum depth of 200 mm and a width of 600 mm, or directly on a wall. The rack is designed for the installation of overlength storage of ducts as well as all types of cable solutions. The smaller version (U) is mainly used for extension of existing racks. The splicing module fits all splicing cassettes with or without frame.

The back plate and sides are fitted with guides and grooves to guide the fibres to the splicing cassette. All splicing cassettes can be fully swung out to provide optimum access during installation. The system has a cable intake for all cables and ducts. A cassette rack with a height of mm holds 72 splicing cassettes and 6,92 fibres. Each splicing cassette holds 96 single fibres or fibre optic bundles (with 8 ribbon fibre the rack can accommodate a total of 3,824 fibres). There are two variations of cable modules available for the system, outgoing or ingoing fibre cables or tubes from ODF. The smaller version (U) is mainly used for extension of existing racks. The splicing module fits all splicing cassettes with or without frame. Splicing cassette modules without frames Frame less model In our ETSI system, splicing modules without frames are used and a maximum height of 50 mm (8-pack), pivoting left or right. The Tykoflex T0 and T24 have back plates for cable fasteners and cable organizing. For these boxes we recommend the use of 2-pack splicing cassettes, pivoting left. 4

These cassettes provide good accessibility for splicing optical fibres as well as the possibility to use 5 terminal boards for copper networks.

A maximum of 4 splicing cassettes can be used and the rack has a maximum capacity of,344 single fibre or 2,688 ribbon fibre. Included with the T0 are 27 fibre holders and 9 strength members.

The box has a back plate for organizing the fibres and a cable shaft for the installation of ducts. The box uses pivoting splice cassettes, 2-pack or 8-pack left. One pack of 2 is included. A maximum of 20 splicing cassettes can be used and the box has a maximum capacity of 3, 840 ribbonfibre. T24 can be equipped with cable holding bracket part no , 4 psc are included. The splicing cassette The splicing cassettes in the Tykoflex Splice System are designed according to the same principles as the Tykoflex Multicassette.

Two splicing cassette depths are available within this system, 30 mm och 65 mm. Splicing cassettes with a depth of 65 mm are used in racks with a minimum depth of 300 mm.

10 The splicing cassette The splicing cassettes in the Tykoflex Splice System are designed according to the same principles as the Tykoflex Multicassette. The splicing cassette is easy to work with and offers good accessibility; characteristics that make it a popular choice for installers. Two splicing cassette depths are available within this system, 30 mm och 65 mm. Splicing cassettes with a depth of 65 mm are used in racks with a minimum depth of 300 mm. Splicing cassettes with a depth of 30 mm are used in racks with a minimum depth of 90 mm, e.g. cabinets with a depth of 200 mm.
