1 COMMAND HEALTH (MDNETWORK) DICTATION Signoff And Editing In Unity Introduction to the CH Mobile Smartphone Application This document reviews review and signoff of Command Health transcribed notes in Unity, followed by an introduction to use of the CH Mobile Command Health smartphone app to record and transmit your dictations. SIGNOFF OF COMMAND HEALTH TRANSCRIPTIONS Documents dictated using Command Health (MD Network) come into your Unity Message Center, just like documents created within Unity. Message Center may well be incorporated into your home screen, but if Message Center isn't already open, click Message Center on the toolbar: Documents to sign off will appear in your inbox under the Documents section: Document review works largely the same as reviewing native Unity documents. Click on one of the documents, and it will preview below:

If this is your own dictation (not something from a resident or fellow that you're cosigning), and everything looks good, you can click OK & Close to sign the document and return to your inbox.

If you need to make additional comments/edits, or it is a document from a resident/fellow that needs a cosign attestation, click the Modify button: The document will open in a new window for further editing: Correct errors or add further text as desired:

4 If you needed to change the document type, you could do that from here as well: When done, click Sign to complete the signoff.

5 The completed document displays: You can click Next to move on to the next document to review, or close out this tab to return to your inbox. The note appears on the patient's chart Documentation List, with the signoff details:

But some may not be aware that Command Health has a CH Mobile smartphone app that can be obtained for free at your device's app store and used to submit dictations. 8 Not all of the screens and options shown apply to us, though it will still be informative to show you how to use the application. But in brief, here is how it works. When you start the application it will ask you for your Login and Password. After supplying them you'll see an initial screen like this: If you have patients scheduled, you can tap Patient List on that screen to see them. The list will display: You can adjust the date range if you need to see a prior day's schedule.

The one thing you'll do that is different from the call-in method is that you'll need to state your dictation type (H&P, progress note, discharge summary, etc.) instead of keying in a number like you do on the phone. When done, click End & Send or Send STAT to begin transmission of the dictation. If you need to dictate on a patient who is not on your list, tap the Microphone button at the top of the Patient List screen:

10 That will take you to a New Recording screen: Dictate as before, only this time begin by dictating the patient identification information. Include everything you can: proper spelling, date of birth, encounter date, MRN, and FIN, all the extent known. Finish and send as previously demonstrated. If you wish to view the status of your dictations, you can tap the Status button at the bottom, and you'll see the number of dictations that are being transmitted; this number drops to zero when complete.

Rest assured this program is HIPAA-compliant. Dictations remain on your phone only long enough to confirm that transmission to the Command Health transcription site has been successful; after that, they are removed from your phone. The application uses WiFi if available, but can also use cellular data if you wish to. It checks periodically for connectivity, so if the connection is lost during the middle of a transmission it will reconnect and complete the transmission at the first opportunity.
