3 Standard First Aid including CPR / AED Certification This 16 hour course is spread out over two consecutive days and includes CPR Level C skills and certification. Comprehensive First Aid & CPR techniques for those who need training for work requirements, or who want more knowledge to respond to emergencies in the workplace or home. The course covers a variety of topics from basic (such as cardiovascular and breathing emergencies, CPR Level C, AED, prevention of disease transmission) to in-depth topics, such as sudden medical conditions and injuries to the head and spine. Certification is valid for three years. Course Dates: Wednesdays & Thursdays Certification variations available: Standard First Aid including Health Care Provider CPR Child Care First Aid Including CPR Level B Recertification's (1 day only) with a valid unexpired certificate including CPR / AED Certification This 8 hour first aid program includes CPR level C skills and certification. Simple First Aid & CPR techniques are taught in an interactive environment, for individuals who want an overview of First Aid & CPR for the workplace or home. The course covers skills needed to recognize, prevent and respond to cardiovascular emergencies for Adults, CPR Level C, AED, and other topics such as choking, airway and breathing emergencies, and prevention of disease transmission. Certification is valid for three years. Course Dates: Wednesdays Certification variations available: including Health Care Provider CPR Recertification's (1/2 day only) with a valid unexpired certificate Enform H 2 S Alive Hydrogen Sulphide Safety Training This is a one day course that deals with the hazards of hydrogen sulphide under the administration of ENFORM. Classroom time is used for initial response strategy, use of respiratory protective equipment (SCBA & SABA), detection of H 2 S, rescue techniques and rescue breathing and review of case studies. Certification is valid for three years. Course Dates: Tuesdays Global Ground Disturbance level II (Global Certification) This is a one day course that deals with the requirements and precautions needed for any work operation or activity on or under the existing surface. Certification is valid for three years. Course Dates: See Calendars for Dates Canadian Firearms Safety The Canadian Firearms Safety Course (CFSC) was developed in partnership with the provinces and territories, national organizations with an ongoing interest in firearms safety, and many firearms and hunter education course instructors from across Canada. 9 Occupational, private, and social services are some of the sectors that require drug and alcohol screening. Breath alcohol testing measures the current level of alcohol in a donor s system. The resulting Breath/Blood Alcohol Concentration (BAC) is calculated immediately and no lab time is required. Breath alcohol testing is mobile and can be easily administered in the clinic or onsite. Because alcohol is absorbed directly through the walls of the stomach and into the bloodstream, breath alcohol testing is a good indicator of current alcohol impairment and valuable in occupational testing. Breath alcohol testing measures the level of alcohol in a donor's system through an electronic monitor that measures alcohol molecules released in the carbon dioxide of an individual s breath. This reading calculates Breath/Blood Alcohol Concentration (BAC) and within minutes of drinking alcohol your blood alcohol concentration starts to rise. Alcohol is absorbed directly through the walls of the stomach and proceeds directly into the bloodstream where it travels throughout your body and to your brain. Safety Starts Here Inc. alcohol technicians are certified based on US DOT standards (United States Department of Transportation). We test with US DOT approved evidentiary breath alcohol machines which guarantees the accuracy and reliability of results and meets the same standards of police forces throughout North America. Breath Alcohol testing is the preferred method of testing as saliva alcohol and urine alcohol (ethanol) testing are not defensible in court. If a saliva alcohol test is positive it must be confirmed by a breath alcohol test to be considered valid. Urine drug testing is highly accurate, reliable, and the most commonly used method to detect the presence of drugs in Canada s occupational testing industry. Depending on the type of drug test required, express and lab based methods are available.
