16 KEY DATES Key Dates Introduction In this section you will find all the key dates for the academic year.. Entry deadlines for 07 8 Our entry deadlines and late fee dates are listed below with an explanation of the late fees that are applied. For each examination series you will see the entry deadline, the late fee date, the amendment fee date and high late fee date. We have also included the date on which basedata will be available on our website: qualifications.pearson.com/basedata. From this date you will also be able to use Edexcel Online or Electronic Data Interchange (EDI) for that examination series to submit entries. If you are having difficulties meeting the entry deadline, for example your MIS has crashed, please contact us on eprocessing@pearson.com and we will support your entry submission process. 17 KEY DATES 5 International A Level (IAL) Dates for the October 08 IAL examination series will be published in the online version of this manual as soon as they are available. Please submit entries using EDI or Edexcel Online. Edexcel Online is available for use from the time that the basedata is released for a particular examination series. You need to register students for Digital Applications (CiDA/DiDA) before submitting entries. We will automatically register any student for Digital Applications (CiDA/DiDA) if no registration exists, on the lowest available programme of study. This may result in higher entry costs over the study period.. Late entry fees explained After the entry deadline, late fees will be incurred. From the late fee date, the entry (subject or unit) fee is doubled. The entry fee is trebled from the high late fee date. Amendment fees will be charged if you change a subject/unit option or tier from the high late fee date. You will not incur a fee for changing candidate details (such as name amendments) unless a certificate has been issued. Amendment fees are usually double the cost of a unit or subject entry fee (in addition to the original entry fee).. Late cash-in fees A fee is charged for any cash-in request made after the entry deadline.. Refunds Any subject or unit fee will be refunded automatically up to the high late fee deadline. If you withdraw an entry after this deadline, no refund will be issued without supporting medical evidence. If a late entry is withdrawn by the high late fee deadline, only the entry fee is refunded. The deadlines to submit marks and moderation samples are listed below. All January 08 certificates will be issued by 6 April Early certification requests If you require your June 08 certificates to arrive earlier, please your request to eprocessing@ pearson.com by August 08, providing us with your centre number and a list of all qualifications you require early certificates for. We aim to respond to your request within 8 hours. Early certificates will arrive in centres in mid September..9 Certificate retention It is no longer necessary to return uncollected certificates to us. They may be destroyed (in a confidential manner) after retention for a period of no less than months from the date of issue. Centres that do not have a means of destroying certificates confidentially may return them to us. A record of certificates that have been destroyed should be retained for four years from their date of destruction. Centres must comply with any request from us to return a certificate. Software Candidate eportfolios must be viewable by software documented in the Moderator s Toolkit available at qualifications.pearson.com/applied-ict-toolkit After the examination session the candidates' work should be copied to a storage medium and kept secure by the exams officer following the publication of results. Security and backups It is the responsibility of the centre to keep candidates work secure. Centres are strongly advised to utilise virus-checking software and to employ an effective backup strategy, so that an up-to-date archive of candidates data is maintained. No special consideration will be given to any candidate whose work is lost or destroyed as a consequence of inadequate centre security/backup procedures. Submitting marks and eportfolios (internally assessed units) Mark submission Centres must submit candidates unit marks electronically using Edexcel Online or EDI. If marks are submitted via EDI, centres must use Edexcel Online to check their moderator and sample details. Identification of the sample The sample of work required for moderation is notified via Edexcel Online. It is available several weeks prior to the submission of marks.
