3 COURSE DESCRIPTION: This course introduces the concepts of the Internet of Everything world today s students live in (connection between people processes, data, and devices). Students will learn the foundations of networking, including binary numbers, IP addressing, and even building Small Office/ Home Office (SOHO) networks. The course also covers basic social media marketing as well as copyright, safety, and other issues surrounding 21 st century Internet citizenship. COURSE DATA: Length of Course: Credits: Full Year 5 Periods Per Week: 5 Classification: Prerequisite: Elective None EVALUATION: The purposes of evaluation are to provide information about student progress and to determine if students have learned the subject matter, which has been taught. Teachers will evaluate student progress by utilizing standardized tests, teacher-made quizzes and tests, oral questioning, class participation, homework, special projects, special exams, and other school records. EVALUATION CRITERIA: Evaluation will be based on the following weighted components: Test 30% Project 20% Classwork 25% Quiz 15% Class Participation 10%
4 Grading structure: Benchmark for mastery of course content is 65%; content mastery for students with IEPs may be less than the Board of Education approved minimum for regular education students. I.
