5 Function using Open Standard #7.9 PRINCIPLES (1) Principles (overall): 1.The service process must contain NO MANUAL DECISION POINTS. 2.The commands / processes must allow for group as well as single meter targets. 3.Separate Group ID ranges must be available for different roles including at least FRMP, DNSP, MDP (AGL Comment (2)). 4.SMMS Operator to populate the Master with TOD tariff information(pe from FS review) Set up Slave Talk to Reconfigure Remove Customer move-out Principles: 1.The registration of a will only occur on request of a customer / retailer. 2.The customer will contact the Retailer and not the DNSP (AGL Comment (2)) 3.The FRMP wants access to a through the Utility. 4.The DNSP does not want access to the through the Utility. 5.The DNSP wants access to the status through the Utility. Set up Slave Talk to Slave Reconfigure Slave Remove Slave Customer move-out Set up Slave Talk to Slave Reconfigure Slave Remove Slave Customer move-out (automatic deregistration??) Principles: 1.Echange of information to a will only occur at the request of a FRMP/customer. 2.Meter Event log must be published in full to retailers (net day) along with the interval meter data. 3.The status of and the details of devices forming the should be also provided as basic information (AGL transfer from spreadsheet MI-#25). Principles: 1.A will only be reconfigured on request from a FRMP/customer. Set up Slave Talk to Slave Reconfigure Slave Remove Slave Customer move-out (automatic deregistration??) Principles: 1. will be de-registered on request of a FRMP/customer or on notification of the DNSP for a change in meter. 6 Function using Open Standard #7.9 ACTIVITY DIAGRAM Set up Slave Talk to Slave Reconfigure Slave Remove Slave Customer move-out (automatic deregistration??) Discussed with MG. It has become clear that the term Enabler has other meanings. It was agreed that the term Master should be used for the technology that sits in the meter and has functionality that includes the Network Coordinator. The Network Coordinator would communicate to Slave s. Accordingly, the slides have been modified to accommodate this revised terminology. request / receive B2B receive / respond (1)Green tet indicates interface traffic (2)Red tet means to be discussed BPPWG process maps (new sequence) v096 PE note Slide 6 (3)Purple tet means a change to the slide from last version
7 Function using Open Standard #7.9 ACTIVITY DIAGRAM Set up Slave Talk to Slave Reconfigure Slave Remove Slave Customer move-out (automatic deregistration??) Are these feasible actions to be requested of an DNSP?? request / receive Type of messages (is this also traffic??): 1.Check circuit is operational?? (what does this imply) 2.TOU message & command?? 3.Group message (what does this imply for each meter, or is it a SMMS attribute??) B2B receive / respond (1)Green tet indicates interface traffic (2)Red tet means to be discussed BPPWG process maps (new sequence) v096 PE note Slide 7 (3)Purple tet means a change to the slide from last version
8 Function using Open Standard #7.9 Set up Slave Talk to Slave Reconfigure Slave Remove Slave Customer move-out (automatic deregistration??) Events are hard wired to a specific Event Log BACKGROUND COMMENTS TALK TO Slave The pulls data from the Master Multiple switching: Enabler switching signal ON OFF Alarms are signals are sent straight to the SMMS. An alarm may be also stored as an event in the relevant Event Log Multiple switching principles: (a)utility has complete control (eg. H/W with no boost); (b)customer can override (H/W with boost); (c)customer permits FRMP control (customer opt-in) O O switching signal This means that the alarm from the is recorded in the meter s Event Log only, and not passed through to the SMMS SMMS (random switching delay) Enabler Two way ON OFF Event Log PCs are more likely to be placed in the overlap areas (so they can acts as a gateway) rather than load devices. Loads are more likely to be placed in one environment only. The load remains connected A tamper event is appliance specific. Identified by the at the appliance; Classified as an alarm at this point; Sent to the Coordinator; Recorded on the Event Log (not classified as an SMS alarm). AGL 24/2/10: What does this mean? (1)Green tet indicates interface traffic (2)Red tet means to be discussed BPPWG process maps (new sequence) v096 PE note Slide 8 (3)Purple tet means a change to the slide from last version 1. Yes Security and QoS stored separately 2. No fied 3. What event log alarm? 4. Only for messages sent from the SMMS 5.? 6. Depends on the vendor implementation (if by repeater you mean device able to connect to simultaneously connect to two Smart Energy Profiles - not that I am aware of (but needed for houses with separate electricity meters e.g. Three phase with single phase Gross Metered PV) 7. Discuss also supports battery powered devices 8. Manufacturer specific
9 Function using Open Standard #7.9 ACTIVITY DIAGRAM Set up Slave Talk to Slave Reconfigure Slave Remove Slave Customer move-out (automatic deregistration??) Events & sequence (FRMP): Receive information from customer to change Slave registration details Notify DNSP of change to Slave registration details Receive notification from DNSP that Slave registration changes are complete Request notification from DNSP on status of Slave Plug & Play commissioning routine Receive notification from DNSP on commissioning status of Slave AGL 24/2/10: 1.If the device (for e.g. Air Con, is unable to join the, is it incapable of being Switched on as well? The registration process is manual and may take 1-2 business days. Does that mean the customer can t use his air con till that time. Please clarify. 2.Also, Retail products offered on the basis if devices, is based on contractual agreements with the customer, what happens if the customer deregisters his device, he can t use it any longer? request / receive B2B receive / respond AGL : Correct, but only if the Infrastructure and meter functionality allows the Retailer to do so. Clarify with SB. Agreed that this question should also be included in the set-up service. 1. If the Slave device is an Air Con. is unable to join the then the customer will be able to operate it in the 100% mode. That is, the registration will only allow the appliance operation to be limited. However, if the Slave device is an In Home Display, it won t work until registration has been effected. 2. If the Slave device (such as an Air Con.) is deregistered, the appliance will operate in the 100% mode as we would normally epect. Defaulting on the contractual arrangement is a matter which is out of scope for the NSMP. Events & sequence (DNSP): Receive request to change Slave registration details o From FRMP o From customer?? Acknowledge request Confirm authenticity of request Change registration details of Slave Notify party of change of registration details AGL 24/2/10: Please clarify: As soon as the customer switches on a brand new device in his home, how will he know the device is awaiting Retailer permission to join the. Some sort of notification is required, otherwise customer may not be aware of what to do. A possibility: 1.When a change in detected, an automated SMS is sent to customer or IHD. For e.g coordinator discovered new device, but not yet registered due to security reasons. Please call your utility on 03 to register device. The following 3 layer concept is a simple eplanation (note that the ISO definition incorporates 7 layers): 6LowPAN is a more open standard, but can t communicate between Zigbee 1.0 and 2.0. Zigbee 1.1 provides a migration path to Zigbee 2.0. Hence, aim to replace 1.0 with 1.1 as soon as possible. 1.1 and 1.0 are backward compatible. Standards for eample: Common Language for use during the discussions Application Layer Smart Energy Profile 1.0 (available in VIC with AMI meter) SEP 1.1 due for release mid 2010 SEP 2.0 (6LoWPAN IPv6) Planned for release 2011??
