23 Conclusions & Recommendations Agile processes are needed in Operational Planning and Realtime processes Increasing dynamics challenges of interconnected power system operation request detailed analysis: Enhanced dynamic modelling Timely well-synchronised and high-resolution measurements Permanent system monitoring Comprehensive up-to-date expertise within TSOs CE dynamic system analysis & monitoring W. 24 Are SCADA EMS suppliers ready for these future needs? Most suppliers are creating Next generation functionalities and Roadmaps for implementation This creates challenges for these suppliers (smaller platforms become end-off-life and merging off platforms is a trend) They need feedback from DSO s and TSO s Implementation of Next-gen SCADA EMS system for TSO needs long lead times (approx. 5 years) Investment is multi Meuro and requires therefore long lifetime for the future use of the system Changing SCADA-EMS supplier/system is quite costly Therefore to choose the right next-gen SCADA-EMS system/supplier is very complex and of high importance for a TSO and for the society that we serve!!
