2 BOOTLOADING Page 2 to 11 If using a Remote starter/alarm system with Rev 8B and below, please go to Option B. Option A: XKLOADER2 1 3 First, you have to dock the CANMAX400 into the system. Connect USB cable to the Bootloader and plug USB to any available USB port on your PC. Then connect the XKD2D65 wire into the system in which you docked the CANMAX400, and connect the XKD2D65 to bootloader. Cut the lip Remove cover from Responder LE module and cut the lip to allow docking of module. Rev 8C and above 2 4 PIN D2D 4 PIN D2D PART# XKD2D65 Jumper position Jumper Before powering the system, make sure a jumper is placed on the two lower pins and no jumper is placed on the upper pins of the Responder LE. XKLOADER2 USB Connector USB Port Option B: XKLINT 1 XKLINT Connect the 7 pin from the harness into connector of the CANMAX400 dockable. CANMAX400 Dockable XKLINT 2 Black Ground Bootloader Red 12v Connection to bootloader Connect USB cable to the Bootloader and plug USB to any available USB port on your PC. Next connect the wire adaptor cable into the bootloader, connect the 7 pin connector under the CANMAX400 module and finally connect Red wire to a 12v power source and Black wire to a ground source. 4 INSTALLATION GUIDE Page 4 to 11 Installation procedures (overview) Please Note: Failure to proceed in the following order could result in possible vehicle damage. 1 Wiring Make all connections as per wiring schematics. 2 Connect 20 pin to module Connect the harness to the module. CAUTION! 20 pin connector can be easily plugged in backwards. 3 Jumpers Jumper setting Make sure both jumpers on Responder are in the Horizontal position to Operate. 4 Cut the lip Remove cover from Responder LE module and cut the lip to allow docking of module. *See pages 2 for bootloading CANMAX400DEI. 5 7 Dock it Dock the module into Responder LE. Module programming 6 Connect and Powerup* the remote starter Connect and powerup the remote starter according to it instructions. Once done, the bypass red LED will turn ON. Ready to use* 8 LED will turn ON 3 seconds, and then turn OFF. (See details on page ) *If the module has never been programmed, the LED will come ON red, then change to when programmed. If the module is already programmed, the LED will come ON 3 sec and shut off. For features & options programming, please go to pages -10.

C2 BCM White BCM Side or Black Connector located at the ignition switch Red/White KEY Side Connect these wires only if the vehicle is equipped with PK3+. PIN 12 Connector C2 of the BCM Single Wire CAN Keyless Data /White RAP OFF: Connect to Black/White Driver door sens trigger (+) 12v (Car side) Grey R. Code (Key Side) Orange R. Code (Car side) Yellow (+) 12v (connector side) Grey/Black / Black Connector located at the ignition switch. This connector can have 5 or 6 pin. You need to connect these wires together. Please Note: Before programming CANMAX400DEI in either Viper, Clifford or Python, make sure both jumers on the remote starter are placed in the Horizontal position. Jumper position Module programing When all connections are correctly done, the red LED will turn ON. Make sure the vehicle can t start: Automatic transmission: Put transmission in D position. Manual Transmission: Do not press the clutch pedal. Turn the key to Start and keep this position until the green LED start to flash. Turn the key back to the ignition position until the green LED stop flashing and comes ON for 3 seconds. You can remove the key, the module is now programmed and ready to operate. KEY KEY Position D OFF OFF IGN IGN START KEY START & & OFF Flash ON 3 secs IGN START No Clutch Features Programming Integrated Programming Button (IPB) To enter feature programming routine - Turn the ignition ON, then OFF. - Within 5 sec, press and HOLD the integrated programming button (IPB). The orange LED turns ON after 3 seconds. Release the IPB. - The green LED starts flashing slowly one time to indicate the feature number is 1. After a short delay, the red LED flashes rapidly one time to indicate the current option of feature 1. It repeats until next action happens. Accessing another feature - Press and release the IPB a number of times to advance from the current feature to the next desired feature. - The green LED flashes slowly the number of times equal to the feature number. After a short delay, the red LED flashes rapidly one time to indicate the current option of the current feature. It repeats until next action happens. Changing feature options - Press the arm or disarm button on aftermarket transmitter to change the option of the selected feature. - The red LED flashes rapidly the number of times equal to the current option number. After a short delay, the green LED flashes slowly the number of times to indicate the current feature. It repeats until next action happens. When the maximum number of feature or option is reached, the will LED starts flashing again from the first feature or option. Once a feature is programmed - Another feature(s) can be programmed. - The feature programming can be exited. Exiting feature programming - No activity for 30 seconds; after 30 seconds, the orange LED will turn ON for 2 seconds to confirm exiting. OR - Press and HOLD the IPB for 3 seconds. After 3 seconds, the orange LED will turn ON for 2 seconds to confirm exiting.

Default option for feature 5 is trunk, for feature 6 is Right sliding door and for feature 7 is Left sliding door. Reset Module - Disconnect the module from any power source (undock the module from the system). - Press and HOLD the integrated programming button (IPB). - While holding integrated programming button, connect the module to the power source (dock it again) - Wait until the orange LED turns ON (should be 3 seconds) - Release the integrated programming button (IPB). - Reset is done.
