6 Module Programming Page 6 Refer to e LED Diagnostics section on page 0 for more information and for troubleshooting purposes. Important Make all e required connections to e vehicle, as described in e wiring diagram(s) found in is guide, and double check to ensure everying is correct prior to moving onto e next step. Warning! To take advantage of advanced features, you must use XpressVIP.5 or higher. Using version.9 or. will limit available functions and features.. Connect e interface module to your computer using e XKLoader.. Open an Internet Explorer browser (version 6 or higher), and go to The detail of e platform and firmware at is currently saved on e interface module will be indicated in e top left corner of e page.. Select e year, make and model of e vehicle; e page will refresh to display e compatible firmware.. In e search result page, select one of e available install options (config for RSR, RXT or Standard install), and follow e instructions provided on e screen. 5. Once you have configured your options, click on e FLASH button to upload e firmware onto e interface module. 6. The following message will be displayed when e upload is completed: The flashing is successfully completed. You may now unplug e kit. You can now proceed wi e programming instructions below. DD Installation If required for your installation, connect e 0-pin, -pin and -pin harnesses to e module, en connect e -pin DD harness. st DD 0-pin rd nd -pin -pin OR WW Installation If required for your installation, connect e 0-pin and -pin harnesses to e module, en connect e -pin harness to e module. st DD 0-pin rd nd -pin -pin Wait until e LED turns ON solid red or flashes orange. Solid OR Flashing Orange Remove e key from e OEM FOB and make sure at e OEM FOB is at least 0 feet away from e vehicle. Insert e key in e knob. Turn e knob to RUN position. The LED flashes orange. & Flashing Orange Turn e knob to OFF, en remove e key from e knob and insert it back again. & 5 Wi key in, turn e knob to e RUN position. The LED turns ON solid green for sec en shuts off. & Solid Green x secs. & Off 6 Turn e knob to e OFF position and remove e key. The module is successfully programmed. You have successfully completed e module programming sequence.

7 Module Reset Page 7 A module reset will only erase programming performed in e previous steps. All settings (firmware) and settings flashed to e module using e web config tool will not be affected. OR DD Installation If required for your installation, connect e 0-pin, -pin & -pin harnesses to e module. Press and hold e programming button, en connect e -pin DD harness. WW Installation If required for your installation, connect e 0-pin & -pin harnesses to e module. The LED en turns ON solid red. & & Solid Release Solid Hard Reset Warning Against Executing a Hard Reset! A hard reset will revert e flashed firmware back to its default settings. Depending on e installation, some settings (such as RFTD and DD options) may have to be reconfigured. See e Feature & Option List section of is guide. Enabled* Locks all doors when brake pedal is pressed while e vehicle is running. Unlocks all doors when ignition turns OFF. Locks all doors when e vehicle is moving. Unlocks all doors when ignition turns OFF. The OEM alarm will not be controlled by DBALL upon remote start. No disarm or arm command will be executed at e beginning or end of e sequence; it must be controlled by e Remote Starter. Smart OEM Alarm Control will behave like a standard Safelock feature on a remote starter. It will unlock at e beginning of e sequence, and relock after start and shutdown. Smart OEM Alarm Control will synchronize wi e OEM alarm so at it will disarm and rearm e vehicle in e remote start sequence, only when required. The reason for is is, factory alarm control must often be done by lock or unlock operation. This could create unnecessary actions on door lock modules, such as e horn to honk. When possible, Smart OEM Alarm Control will monitor e alarm and door lock status to detect if e disarm or rearm is required. If e vehicle is unlocked or is not equipped wi factory alarm, e disarm/rearm will not be executed. Smart OEM Alarm Control will also monitor e remote starter actions so at e factory alarm control is not done twice. A remote starter, for which e Safelock feature is active, will work perfectly wi is option and will make it invisible to e user.. Enabled* Enable e control of e parking lights via CAN.. Disabled Disable e control of e parking lights via CAN.

9 Feature Programming To enter feature programming routine - Turn e ignition ON, en OFF. - Wiin 5 seconds, press and HOLD e programming button until e LED turns ON orange (after seconds). Release e Programming button. - The LED will flash green once slowly to indicate e feature number is. After a short delay, e LED flashes red rapidly to indicate e current option of feature (i.e. x green followed by x red indicates feature is set to option ). The flashing sequence will repeat until a new command is entered. Changing feature options - Press e lock/arm or unlock/disarm button on aftermarket transmitter to change e option of e selected feature. - The LED flashes red rapidly e number of times equal to e current option number. After a short delay, e LED flashes green slowly e number of times to indicate e current feature. The flashing sequence will repeat until a new command is entered. Accessing anoer feature - Press and release e programming button a number of times to advance from e current feature to e next desired feature. - The LED flashes green slowly e number of times equal to e feature number. After a short delay, e LED flashes red rapidly to indicate e current option of e current feature. The flashing sequence will repeat until a new command is entered. When e maximum number of features or options is reached, e LED will start flashing again from e first feature or option. Once a feature is programmed - Oer features can be programmed. - The feature programming can be exited. Programming Button Exiting feature programming - No activity for 0 seconds; after 0 seconds, e LED will turn ON orange for seconds to confirm e end of e programming sequence. OR - Press and HOLD e programming button for seconds. After seconds, e LED will turn ON orange for seconds to confirm e end of e programming sequence. Page 9

10 LED Diagnostics and Troubleshooting Page 0 LED Status Description Troubleshooting Module Programming Off Module has no power. Make sure at e -pin DD harness is connected or at e Volt is present between e red and black wires. If e Volt is present, e module may be defective. Solid red Waiting on e completion of a programming sequence, or e ignition has been turned on. This can also mean at ere is an issue wi e data bus wiring. Make sure at e connections to e data bus are correct by referring to e wiring diagram. Flashes orange (fast) CAN detected. Normal operation Solid green x secs Module Programming - Error codes Flashes red x, en orange Flashes red x Module successfully programmed. Bypass line error After seconds, e module did not detect transponder data. Normal operation Check e bypass line connection. If - flashes orange x : clock bus error - flashes orange x : DATA bus error Check e bypass line connection. If more an one wire are used, make sure at ey are not inverted. Flashes red x Bypass processing error Bypass calculation failed. Reset e module and try again. External Module Synchronisation Flashes red, red, en orange x 0 Active Ground While Running OBDII feature not supported. Diagnostic data bus not detected. Some features are not supported by SmartStart. This can be caused by missing wire connections or module hardware limitation. Refer to e wiring installation section to verify e connections. Flashes green flashes red and orange GROUND OUT ON (GWR) command received. IGNITION ON command received. If not, e Ground While Running (status) signal was lost or was never received by e module. If not, e ignition signal was not received by e module. Flashes green quickly START ON command received. If not, e start signal was not received by e module.
