4 Features & Benefits Branding The unique and stylish corner moulding of the Access range provides an easy system for individual branding or cabinet identification. Silk screening on glass doors is also available UNIQUE So what makes Access so different from conventional cabinets? The unique construction, open architecture without corner posts, enables the quick removal of all panels/doors to completely expose the open frame for installation of cables and/or equipment. Far neater, faster and user friendly cable installations are possible compared with conventional cabinets. The resultant installation is much easier to maintain with ready access to equipment and patch panels and the avoidance of messy, haphazard cabling arrangements. EFFECTIVE The Access cabinet open frame structure provides virtually 360º total accessibility, prior to fitting panels and doors, which gives installers maximum working access and the opportunity to greatly improve installation times. The elimination of corner posts also removes the need to excessively inset 19" mounting angles, achieving maximum equipment and working space. FLEXIBLE The number of cabinet combinations available further enhances the strength of the Access design. From door options to top panels, Access achieves an unparalleled level of flexibility, providing the end user with the right cabinet for the right application. Since Access is completely modular by design, it can be easily flat packed for highly effective transportation Cable Management External cable entry can be either from movable brush strip panels or base options, which include standard or computer floor plinths. Mounting Systems Unique top & bottom tubular frames, connected by aluminium extrusions which create a very open structure providing unrivalled accessibility to equipment and cabling. Creating your Access ordering code is simplicity itself. You simply start with the basic frame design and add doors, side panels and top panels as required. As you add enclosure components the order code builds up to give a single order code for the complete enclosure. The Access range has a comprehensive range of accessories to suit all applications. Compatible with most Access accessories. Each assembly comprises 2 x 800 wide Access cabinets bayed together. The unique cornerless frame construction allows 3 sets of 19" mounting rails to be fitted within the width of the 2 racks. The assembly can be supplied with either 3 sets of rails front & rear or 3 sets on one face and 2 on the other. This arrangement enables 50% more equipment to be installed in the space occupied by 2 conventional cabinets. Supplied as individual cabinets for baying on site with all necessary fixings supplied. The cabinets can be supplied with any combination of doors, side & top panels from the standard Access range. Equipment requiring support can be fitted on our range of cantilever shelves, or quick fit sliding shelves. Access cable basket or cable tray can be used for cable management. As standard, doors are hinged on the outside edges (gull wing style) which gives uninterrupted access to the centre bay. Racks may be divided into 2 or 3 compartments. Each compartment has an individual lock code on the fully ventilated steel doors. Each compartment is separated from the next by a ventilated divider panel. The cabinet can also be provided with secure cable troughs to enable cables to pass through the compartments in a secure manner Plinth:- The various accessories available include a dedicated floor plinth designed to take the place of 600mm x 600mm computer floor tiles. The plinth design allows adjacent tiles to be removed and replaced even with a cabinet depth greater than 600mm. Since the plinth occupies the space of one or more tiles there is no need for time-consuming tile cutting. The frames can be clad at any time to maintain the aesthetically pleasing appearance of Access. The standard configuration comprises of a basic Access frame fitted with front and rear 19 inch mounting angles and jacking feet. The top and bottom end frames have been designed to provide maximum cable entry. Twist and Lock Cable Management Arms are fitted at 4U intervals on each 19 inch mounting upright. All Access cabinet accessories are compatible with the Advanced Managed Distribution Frame. For 875mm deep versions, the front and rear mounting angles can be replaced to allow for the mounting of optional 110 Connector Mounting Frames. 14 Cable Management Metal Cable Hoops: ACH6 The unique design of the Access cabinet, without corner posts, makes it the most suited enclosure product on the market to aid fast and efficient cable management. Vertical cable management is a common problem with conventional cabinet construction but with Access it is possible to fit cable hoops to the front or rear 19 inch uprights, within the 600mm overall width footprint, whilst still allowing front entry/exit of cables. This is particularly important when racks are bayed together. This new cable management solution provides a minimum cable area of 1550mm 2 on a 600mm wide rack rising to 6500mm 2 on 800mm wide cabinets. The hoops attach to the side mounting facility and can be positioned to suit individual cabling applications. 15 Cable & Thermal Management Overview:- Thermal management within 19 cabinets has always proved challenging. The Access range provides effective natural convection cooling within its core design. Where additional forced cooling is necessary Cooper B-Line offer a range of complementary products to enhance system cooling. 16 Computer Floor Plinth Rack Combination(s) Part Number 1 x 600mm wide x 875mm Deep A6FP81 2 x 600mm wide x 875mm Deep A6FP82 Product Overview:- Cooper B-Line have developed a unique plinth system that can be fitted to a normal raised floor and fits into the aperture of 1 x 600mm floor tile depthwise. The number of tiles on the width is variable and depends on the number of cabinets per plinth. The benefit is that, as the plinth is slightly raised the adjacent tiles to the front or rear of the cabinet can be easily removed when the cabinets are fully loaded in situ. The plinth also provides savings by avoiding the costly cutting of tiles when fitting and of course the cost of the tiles replaced by the plinth itself. Another important benefit is that, when real estate is at a premium, cabinets or rows of cabinets can be more closely fitted together without impairing cable access. Features: Plinths to accept either 1 or 2 x 800 wide cabinets do not occupy the complete aperture made by removing the tiles. One end of the plinth has an additional section fitted to support the part tile needed to fill the aperture. The plinth is secured into the aperture by brackets which clamp under the raised floor spreader bars which must be installed to maintain the integrity of the floor structure. The cabinet is located by the nylon skids on the base of the frame and bolted down through the front to rear mounting sections into cage nuts. This plinth is designed to fit most standard floors, however as they are built to order they can be produced to fit any type of flooring system if details are provided. Installation:- Installing the computer floor plinth is a straightforward operation. 17 Accessories Bolt Through Kit: Access bolt through kits are the preferred method of baying suites of Access cabinets with side panels in situ. The kit consists of a set of two M8 x 70 screws, nuts and washers, finished in zinc plate and yellow passivate. Suitable for Access cabinets with pre-drilled extrusion, bolt through kits are available ex-stock. 18 Accessories Plinth Kits and Stabilising Plinths Accessories Four corner plates (factory fitted if specified with order) fit to underside of base frame providing access on all sides by fitting castors and/or jacking feet which raise the cabinet by a nominal 104mm. The stabilising plinth includes a pull out section at the front to add extra stability to the rack when withdrawing heavy equipment on slides. 4 trim plates neatly infill the gap between base frame and floor (when baying cabinets order separate additional infill plates - see table below). N.B. Plinth kit must be used with castors and/or jacking feet order separately. Access Wallbox development Developed for today's front office environment the Access Wallbox range was designed to incorporate impact resistant moulded (SMC) top and bottom panels for improved aesthetics. Compared with a conventional wallbox this feature has the added benefit that the top and bottom panels can be easily cut and modified to fit over existing cabling ducting/equipment without the need to touch up exposed metal surfaces. Designed with ease of use in mind the range also has user friendly quick release hinged side panels and doors for quick and easy removal during installation and maintenance. Security to the cabinet is maintained via a single point key lock on the door. All cabinets can be supplied with a choice of standard or vented side panels as well as plain steel or glazed doors. The vented side panels offer the option of fitting fan kits providing enhanced thermal management through forced cooling. Just like the Access Cabinet the Access Wallbox is based on an open frame design removing the need for conventional corner posts. 36 The EC 2 Wallbox EC 2 Wallbox New from Cooper B-Line comes an improved and enhanced range of wallboxes designed to meet the demands of today s market. The new design incorporates a range of features that make the product perfect for housing cabling infrastructures as well as active network and telecom equipment. Designed with single person installation in mind, each unit is supplied fully assembled. Units can also be supplied flat packed upon request. Easy mount brackets allow the cabinet to be hung in position before being securely bolted to the wall. The key locking fully glazed door incorporates quick release hinges for easy door removal. The hinge design also allows the door to be easily changed from left hand to right hand hinged. Optional plain steel doors are also available upon request. The design also incorporates removable key locking side panels and a screw fixed rear panel as standard. Internally each cabinet comes with two pairs of fully adjustable 19 mounting rails with each rail incorporating unit height markings. Cable entry into the EC 2 wallbox is via gland plated slots, positioned towards the rear of the top and bottom panel. The top and bottom panels also incorporate ventilation slots designed to allow fans to be bolted inside the cabinet for forced ventilation. This means less cable density, looser bundling and faster moves, adds and changes. The advantages of the open back design are amplified by the open side feature of double-sided managers. 1 Assists with data integrity by reducing cable density The 1/4 accessory mounting holes spaced every 1/2 RMU extend along the entire height of the RCM+ (image 2).
