19 What conversation should we have? Consistency How many different programs do we really need? (Look to SDG&E. Buying peaking power at $400/kW.) Seems Silly to spend billions to serve 60 Hrs per year ISO NE 28,000 MW peak with less than 60 Hrs over MW s 12% of Generation for.6% of the hours in a year DON T DO IT This is no longer about R&D. It s about deployment. Critical to fund DOE demonstration projects. Fund the Electricity Sector efforts to insure the central nervous system of America s economy does not fail. What do you want? Define the What not the How! Quit assuming customers don t want to be part of the solution. We can make Demand Side Resources an every day part of the solution. 19
