4 ExpoElectronica promotes economic development in Russia ОOne of the priorities for ensuring a bright future for the Russian Armed Forces is keeping its various divisions equipped with the latest weapons and military technology, a task which is impossible without a modern, national electronics component base. ExpoElectronica offers developers, manufacturers and consumers of the electronics industry the opportunity to hold constructive dialogue, sign contracts and establish long-term, mutually beneficial relationships, which benefits not only Russian economic growth, but also national security, by means of applying the latest developments in domestic electronics to weapons and military technology. ExpoElectronica, ElectronTechExpo and LEDTechExpo will provide additional impetus to the development and renewal of the domestic electronics market, and will also promote the establishment of new partnerships between manufacturers, industrialists, businessmen, government representatives and scientists, along with acting as a solid platform for constructive dialogue between them. 7 business programme The LEDs: Chips, Products, Materials, Equipment conference The Photovoltaics - a new vector of electronics development round table Supported by the Ioffe Physical Technical Institute The LEDs: Chips, Products, Materials, Equipment international conference was the main event of LEDTechExpo 2012, the 2 nd International Trade Fair for LED Technologies, Materials, Chip Design and Manufacturing. The conference was supported by the Non-Commercial Partnership of LED Manufacturers the general conference sponsor was LEDALLIANCE. Over 120 industry professionals from Russia, Belarus, Germany, Japan, and the USA took part in the conference, analysing a wide range of issues relating to the LED market such as production standards and processes, quality control, and ways of implementing projects using existing infrastructure. Among the delegates were representatives from Optogan, Svetlana Optoelectronica, Du Pont, Philips, Kaijo Corporation, Mitsui & Co, the Siberian Association of Energy Auditors, Xlight, and many others. The exhibition was fantastically organised and intelligently planned. The round table was moderated by Andrey Kazanskiy, Doctor of Mathematics and Head of the Semiconductor Department of the Moscow State University Faculty of Physics. Bringing solar energy issues within ExpoElectronica was a really good idea, and I am confident that this feature will go from strength to strength. There were several big names in Russia s photovoltaics market among the exhibitors, and it would be great if the exhibition was expanded next year and the number of speakers increased. For probably the first time in Russia in the last three years, there was a full scientific discussion on improving the efficiency of solar energy, technical and commercial tips were exchanged. Not only that, medium and long term trends of the development of solar power components based on monocrystalline silicon and thin film amorphous silicon solar cells have been identified. 12 Responses about an exhibition The exhibition was really well organised we were impressed with the large number of trade visitors at our stand.
