2 Project Update Project Funding: US Army Armament Research, Development, and Engineering Center (ARDEC) Long-Term Objectives/Phased Approach: Phase 1: Interoperability of local first responder network 18 month effort with completion scheduled in June 07 Provided funding for equipment, lab facilities, contractor support and in SOSSEC integration efforts for ARDEC Results to Date: Technology selection: Pilot and PacketHop baseline Technology feasibility demonstration for proof of concept Modeling and simulation of baseline Systems Integration Lab and Test Bed for comparative performance analysis utilizing 4.9/2.4/5.8GHz combinations Preliminary recommendation: portable incident area network Relatively high data bandwidth Relatively limited range and penetration
