How to Use This Guide How to Use This Guide The objective of this document is to detail a consistent and comprehensive approach to the communication of Flexenclosure s brand values through the development and execution of all internal and external marketing activities. It should be shared with any designers and/or agencies involved with Flexenclosure s marketing activities. Successful execution of these guidelines will result in a universally recognisable brand identity that leverages and reinforces Flexenclosure s master brand standards. 3
Naming Naming Our company name and our product names are key vehicles in the delivery of our brand values to all our audiences. Consequently they should be respected at all times and only ever be used in their full form. This rule should be rigorously applied not only in external communications but also internally within the company. Flexenclosure Flexenclosure, as our master brand, should never be abbreviated in any way, either in print or when spoken. People may be tempted to simply refer to the company as Flex. This is enormously counterproductive and should be gently flagged to offenders for correction. Product Families esite and ecentre are our two family-level product brand names. In print they should always be introduced in conjunction with the master brand, (e.g. Flexenclosure s modular ecentre solution ) after which they can be referred to in their own right. Product names must never be abbreviated. For example esite x10 should always be referred to as such, and never simply as x10. 4
Logos The Flexenclosure Logo Flexenclosure is our master brand and the focal point of our marketing. As such, the Flexenclosure corporate logo is the most immediate representation and fundamental element of our company, our people, and our brand to the world. It is a valuable corporate asset that must be used consistently in the proper, approved forms. It should appear in a prominent position in all communications. It must never be replaced by a standard typeface. It should always be reproduced from original artwork and should never be rebuilt, redrawn, recreated or distorted. Flexenclosure Logo Specifications The Flexenclosure logo should be used to introduce and/or close all forms of marketing collateral. It can also be used by third parties (for co-marketing, sponsorships, etc.), but only with the formal approval of Flexenclosure s Marketing department. Brochure - Front Page Brochure - Back Page Case Study - Front Page Case Study - Back Page 5
Logos Colour Depending on the application, the logo should always appear in either Steel Grey or Flexenclosure Orange on a white background. (Please refer to the Colour Palette section for the specific colour codes.) For certain applications (such as signage) a white logo reversed out on a Flexenclosure Orange background can be used. White logos can also be used on other background colours or photographs as long as they remain fully legible. Exclusion Zone The logo must stand clear of any other elements, with an exclusion zone equal to the height of the lower case letters on all sides around the logo. No other graphic element must ever appear inside this zone. Minimum Size The Flexenclosure logo should always be easily legible and not be reproduced smaller than the minimum size of 25mm (width). If, under exceptional circumstances, the logo needs to be reproduced even smaller than this minimum size, the marketing team should be brought in to facilitate the design work. 25mm 6
Logos Product Family Logos Our product family logotypes are critical in establishing a dynamic and contemporary identity for our product portfolios. They serve to further differentiate our solutions from the competition. As with the master brand, they are valuable corporate assets that are an essential part of maintaining a unified brand identity and must therefore be used consistently in the proper, approved forms. They should appear in a prominent position in all relevant product-specific communications. They must never be replaced by a standard typeface. They should always be reproduced from original artwork and should never be rebuilt, redrawn, recreated or distorted. Product Family Logo Specifications The product family logos should be used to introduce all forms of marketing collateral related specifically to any given product group or sub-group. 7
Logos Colour The colours of the product logos are fixed and must never be altered in any way. Please refer to the Colour Palette section for the specific colour codes. The coloured logos should always appear on a white background. For certain specific applications (such as signage or multimedia watermarking), a white logo reversed out on a Flexenclosure Orange or transparent background should be used. White logos can also be used on other colours or photographs as long as they remain fully legible. Datasheet - esite 8
Logos Exclusion Zone The product logos must stand clear of any other elements, with an exclusion zone equal to the height of the lower case letters on all sides around the logo. No other graphic element must ever appear inside this zone. Datasheet - esite 9
3mm Logos Minimum Size The product logos should always be easily legible and not be reproduced smaller than a certain minimum size. Given that the product logos are all of varying lengths, the minimum size will be dictated by the capital letters in the names which should have a minimum height of 3mm. If, under exceptional circumstances, the logo needs to be reproduced even smaller than this minimum size, the marketing team should be brought in to facilitate the design work. 10
Logos Usage Examples: ecentre Branding In order to achieve maximum conscious and subliminal brand impact, all external ecentre doors should be branded both inside and out. In this way, the ecentre name will be absorbed on both entering and exiting the facility. 5cm The ecentre logo should always be positioned in the top right hand corner of the door, with a 5cm gap between the edge of the square icon and the horizontal and vertical edges of the door. Note that the self-adhesive logo film is pre-cut with 5cm margins to aid in correct positioning and application. 5cm Additional care must be taken when applying the logo to the inside of an external door, as it will need to be positioned on the right-hand panel such that the edge of the vertical metal plate runs between the letters b and y. (See picture opposite - Inside of door.) Outside of door Note that internal doors, if present in larger ecentres, should not be branded. 5cm 5cm See notes opposite Inside of door 11
Logos Usage Examples: ecentre Transport Tarpaulins ecentre modules being transported from Vara to the customer site should be covered in a protective tarpaulin. The tarpaulin should be Flexenclosure Orange (see page 20) with a white ecentre by Flexenclosure logo on each side. Rope lacing for Flexenclosure Orange tarpaulins should be Flexenclosure Orange or white. In circumstances where the modules will be stored for an extended period of time at a customer site where they will experience extreme temperatures (>45 degrees), a pale grey tarpaulin can be used instead. As above, the ecentre by Flexenclosure logo should be white. Rope lacing for the grey tarpaulins should be grey or white. ecentre Tarpaulin 12

I am very proud of what ACS and Flexenclosure have achieved together. Carlos Carvalho CTO, Angola Comunicações e Sistemas (ACS) As the leading telecoms operator in Cote d Ivoire, MTN ecentre by Flexenclosure a complete, pre-fabricated, constantly strives to deliver the best and most complete service to its customers. MTN wanted to evolve from traditional telephony service provision based on voice and SMS to a more mature pre-equipped, custom designed modular solution to house and power data and telecom equipment. Two identical 336sqm ecentres each incorporating discrete switching centre, energy centre and hosted data We see significant opportunities to drive the development of the colocation and cloud services markets in Paraguay and needed a high quality data centre facility that we can easily and efficiently expand as our business grows. The facility that Flexenclosure has built has met all of our needs and exceeded our expectations. set of mobile services such as broadband Internet, mobile money, video on demand, etc. It also wanted to establish the capability to create an entirely new market in the centre areas will provide MTN Cote d Ivoire not only with the immediate capacity it needs, but also with the modern infrastructure required to manage the on-going expansion Juan Emilio Roa Business Director, Tigo Paraguay country providing innovative data hosting services for its of its data traffic and to pioneer new value added and Enterprise customers. hosted data services across the country. In order to achieve these ambitious goals, a major infrastructure upgrade and expansion project needed to be undertaken. Delivered as a full turnkey project including all civil works, installation of the ecentre and re-location of some existing equipment to the new sites. This is the first deployment of its kind on such a big scale for Airtel in Africa and Asia and will bring about a major transformation in data centre building technology and standards. This data centre will be of very high quality, meeting Tier 3 standards. The main objective to select prefab modular DC technology and Flexenclosure as partner for this project was to be sure of receiving the best design, quick deployment time, easy expandability and energy efficient power and cooling equipment, thus achieving both redundancy as well as a large reduction in our energy costs." Pradeep Vats Group Head Real Estate and Data Centre Facilities, Bharti Airtel International The new ecentre will provide us with increased network availability, stability and geographical redundancy, and the data hosting capability will allow us to provide new value-added services to our clients. Flexenclosure s ecentre is a tried and tested solution in the MTN group and we are confident it is the right solution for us and for our customers in Côte d Ivoire. The Challenge Flexenclosure Advantage Jerome Curtis General Manager Capital Programs, MTN Côte d Ivoire ACS identified a large green-field site in Benfica the rapidly expanding new business and commercial area of Luanda at which to establish their new data centre facility. However, while ideal in terms of space, the site had absolutely no existing infrastructure water, power, telecoms connectivity, not even a road to get to it. In fact, before any building could begin, the soil itself would need to be improved in order to give it adequate load bearing capability. These challenges were compounded by the fact that high quality materials, tools and expertise were all in very short supply locally. And the site s somewhat remote location meant that security would be a major concern both during construction of the facility and on-going once it was complete and fully operational. And ACS wanted the facility to be manned 24/7, therefore requiring not only the data centre white space but also a full network operations centre (NOC), office space and associated facilities to be available for its staff. By deploying Flexenclosure ecentres, MTN Cote d Ivoire has been able to capitalise of a number of significant ecentre differentiators: A guaranteed product, with guaranteed energy efficiency, in a guaranteed time, at a guaranteed price and with very low Total Cost of Ownership (TCO) Maximum preparation and testing in the factory in Sweden ensures extremely fast installation on site, resulting in a project duration typically five times shorter than that for a brick and mortar facility A future-proofed technical building where additional fully customised internal space can be created easily, on demand and without any operational disruption Designed with ultra efficient cooling and power systems, Flexenclosure calculates and can guarantee a PUE value for every deployment And with extensive experience deploying technical facilities in the most challenging environments in over 50 countries, Flexenclosure brings creative ideas, fully tested solutions and total peace of mind. fast. Our experience of working with Flexenclosure on our Maputo data centre was extremely positive, so our comfort level is high in deciding to go with ecentre for our primary switching centre in Matola. With ecentre, project speed, quality and predictability are all ensured and all our requirements will be met using a complete, fully integrated and energy efficient solution. When do I use trademarks on web pages? They do not need to appear in the main title/heading of a page. They should appear in the first or most prominent mention (short of the title/heading) on EVERY web page. They should be used in anything that might be used separately from the page it is currently on i.e. web banners, interactive pieces, etc. Copyright Notice & Attribution Statements Please include a copyright notice and an attribution statement, which may appear in small, but still legible, print, when using any Flexenclosure trademarks in any published materials. 30 Third Party Branding Third Party Branding Third party co-branding can support Flexenclosure s brand values and be an important part of our success. As such, a customer, partner or award logo may sometimes be represented in Flexenclosure marketing materials. In all cases the additional logo should be complimentary to the Flexenclosure logo and never visually superior or more prominent. The Flexenclosure logo usage guidelines should be adhered to at all times and the master logo should never appear locked to any other logo. In all cases where a third party logo is to be used, be sure to obtain original high definition art files. Customer Branding Customer Case Study - Front Page Customer logos should never be used without the formal permission of the customer in question s Corporate Communications or Marketing department. Typically this will include obtaining a signed license agreement. Use of a customer logo should always be in line with their brand guidelines. Where more than one customer logo is to be used in the same space, care must be taken to treat them all equally. The only exclusion to this rule is where the expressed intent is to reflect an acknowledged hierarchy of some sort.
