Requirements for the creation of 3D artwork & 3D advertising media 1/10
For the creation of 3D artwork and 3D advertising media, we will need several instructions and files. These instructions and files will enable us to create a 3D layout for your product/brand logo from scratch and speed up the overall design process greatly. Instructions: With instructions, we mean a basic briefing on what the client wishes to achieve with their advertising campaign, using our 3D media. A few sentences will help us understand about the client s target audience and the advertising message that the client wants to communicate to potential customers, using our 3D media. Files: With files, we mean a set of existing graphics, that the client uses throughout their current or past advertising campaigns. These are the same graphic files that the client has used for e.g. Posters, Billboards, TV- Ads, Internet Marketing, Presentation etc. If the client is not in possession of these files, they should be available from the client s advertising agency. The graphic files that we need for the creation of our 3D media are: 1. Photos & Illustrations of products High resolution photos & digital illustrations of the product that you wish to use as the key visual with our 3D advertising media. (click here for more information) 2. Labels / Wrappings / Cover artwork / Blueprints High resolution graphics or vector artwork of all graphics that get printed onto the product itself or the product package. (click here for more information) 3. Logos / Claims / Slogans Vector artwork of your brand logos, product logos and any associated type that represents claims or slogans. (click here for more information) 4. Fonts / Type Families Any fonts that should be used as Postscript or TrueType font families (click here for more information) 5. Background graphics / Additional graphics Any background graphics & additional graphics as high resolution bitmap files or vector artwork. (click here for more information) 2/10
1. Photos & Illustrations of products Existing high resolution photos and illustrations of the client s products will help us understand about: Examples of quick product shots to illustrate the look and feel of the real product. the look and feel of the product the physical appearance of the product the fine details of the surface of the product We will need those files in one or more of the following formats: Photoshop Files.psd files (with layers, layer effects, layer masks etc.).psb files (special photoshop format for large files) Flat bitmap graphics.tif,.bmp,.jpg,.raw Vector Graphics.pdf,.eps,.ai,.indd (with embedded or linked bitmap graphics) Corel Draw Files are NOT supported For these non-studio product shots, a high resolution.jpg file is sufficient. 3/10
Example of an existing product illustration that was used for posters/billboards and is available as a layered photoshop file or layered Illustrator file. Screenshot of the Photoshop layers of the layout seen to the left : 4/10
Screenshot of an Illustrator layout with linked bitmap graphics & embedded type (converted to outlines) Screenshot of the Illustrator layers of the layout seen to the left with direct access to all vector-paths and a correctly saved project folder from the existing 2D layout with all embedded files and fonts: 5/10
2. Labels / Wrappings / Cover artwork / Blueprints Blueprints of product dimensions and label-/wrapping artwork enable us to build a 3D version of your product from scratch. A 3D model of your product is created according to the dimensions that we can make out from your photos and blueprints. The graphics, that are normally printed onto the product or package are then applied to the 3D model on the computer. This way, we can can show your product from all sides and finally, from a perspective that is perfect for our 3D advertising media. Examples for label artwork / wrapping graphics in vector format (Illustrator). Required file formats: Vector Graphics.pdf,.eps,.ai,.indd (with embedded or linked bitmap graphics) Corel Draw Files are NOT supported 6/10
Example of a blueprint for a complex product shape in vector format (Illustrator). The blueprint for complex product shapes is needed to create a 3D model of the client s product. Required file formats: Vector Graphics.pdf,.eps,.ai 7/10
3. Logos / Claims / Slogans Logos and typefaces that define a brand s name or product name must be supplies as vector graphics (Illustrator). Example of a brand logo an associated claims / slogans in vector format (Illustrator): This will enable us to use your brand names and product names for both 2D and 3D layouts in any sizes without quality loss. Required file formats: Vector Graphics.pdf,.eps,.ai 8/10
4. Fonts / Type Families To be able to use the client s brand typefaces in layered Photoshop- and Illustrator files and for additional text lines we will need the font faces / type families in the following formats : Postscript Typeface family Truetype Typeface family 9/10
5. Background graphics / Additional graphics All other supporting graphics such as : Example of a flat background graphic. flat background graphics supporting product photos supporting style elements supporting banners & logos should be supplied as: Original Layout. Photoshop Files.psd files (with layers, layer effects, layer masks etc.).psb files (special photoshop format for large files) Flat bitmap graphics.tif,.bmp,.jpg 10/10
