I am especially proficient in Photoshop and Illustrator and have honed my retouching and editing skills with experience in altering vehicles for newspaper ads and creating imagery for various other types of ads as well. I am also very quick and efficient with the rest of the Adobe suite as well. For the past two years I designed ads and laid out a weekly newspaper for a community of 4,000 plus people. I also designed and developed the paper s website and updated the content weekly. I ran daily and weekly maintenance on the back end of the site to keep things running smoothly and optimized all content for the different platforms it was going to. I am familiar with both web and print design and have dealt with both extensively. I am proficient in InDesign and have helped teach it to several fellow students back in College and several colleagues in my previous job. Over the past two years I have developed my typography, colour and layout skills as well as my skills within the Adobe suite to a very quick and efficient level. In the past year I ve designed and developed several full websites using Wordpress. I m fluent in several forms of word processing software including Microsoft Word, OpenOffice, OneNote and Google Docs. I also have experience with Adobe Flash and have created several animations in the past. I am currently studying and developing my illustration, photography skills independently as well as working on my web design knowledge and skills. 2 PORTFOLIO ST. MARYS INDY WEBSITE The goal for the St. Marys Indy website was a complete redesign and modernization. The old website was dated in its appearance, did not function well on mobile and was very clunky to update. I solved those issues with St. Marys Indy by focusing on a design that was optimized for mobile, allowed easier updates, and possessed a modernized appearance. The design is very image-oriented so as to help tell the community s stories in an engaging way. The website can be found at ILLUSTRATION WORK These are just a couple examples of my personal illustration work. Both of these pieces were done for the Inktober challenge for 2016 and were rendered with Prismacolor markers and fineliner pens.

3 FORD ADVERTISEMENTS The Ford ads always proposed a challenge for me. They were almost always submitted last minute which put me on a tight deadline to have them done, and they always provided a unique creative challenge when it came to layout and imagery. I was always organizing large amounts of information so it really tested me as a designer and really helped me push myself to produce a good ad quickly.

4 ST. MARYS INDEPENDENT The St. Marys Independent is the newspaper I worked on for two years. I learned a lot from building and rebuilding this paper each week. Over the two years I improved my layout skills, my time management skills and my image editing. I became much faster at all of these things and I also learned a thing or two about target markets and optimizing for print and web.
