Registration ID: UC-1 Register Professor or Student Actors: Professor, Student Description: Enables actors to make an account for The Gender Knot s complementary website, subsequently giving them access to the website which corresponds with role selected and a customized profile. Trigger: Actor clicks on the Register button on the website s homepage. Preconditions: 1. Actor has bought The Gender Knot 2. Actor is on the Provide Access Code page of the website 3. Actor has knowledge of all applicable information that needs to be entered into fields Postconditions: 1. A unique login username and password is created for the actor 2. Actor has a customized profile on the website 3. The actor is given privileges within the website that corresponds to role selected Normal Flow: 1. Actor clicks on the register button located on the website s homepage 2. Actor enters access code 3. Actor clicks the Verify code button 4. System validates that the access code entered is valid 5. System displays confirmation on screen 6. Actor clicks the next button 7. Actor enters input into First Name field, Last Name field, field, Username field, Password field, Confirm Password field 8. Actor selects a role from the drop-down menu of Professor 9. Professor enters input into Current School field, Department field, Department Chair s Name field, Department Chair s Number field, Department Chair s field, and Course Description field 10. Professor presses the Submit button 11. Professor clicks the NEXT button 12. Professor clicks + Add a workplace 13. Professor adds his or her work experience

Professor clicks on checkboxes that he or she is interested in under the label, What studies are you interested in? 18. Professor clicks the YES checkbox or NO checkbox under the label, Would you like us to you newsletters and updates regarding the topics you ve selected? 19. Professor clicks the next button 20. Professor clicks the SUBMIT button Alternative Flow 8. Actor selects a role from the drop-down menu of Student 9. Student selects a course 10. Student clicks the NEXT button 11. Student clicks + Add a workplace 12. Student adds his or her work experience 13. Student clicks + Add a Education 14. Student adds his or her education 15. Student clicks the next button 16. Student clicks on checkboxes that he or she is interested in under the label, What studies are you interested in? 17. In step 10 of the normal flow, if the professor did not enter valid information in all fields 1. System blocks the professor from going on to the next step 2. System prompts professor to enter valid information for all fields 3. Professor enters valid information for all fields 4. Professor clicks the Submit button 5. resumes on step 11 of the normal flow 10b. In step 10 of the alternative flow, if the student did not fill out all fields with valid input 1. System blocks the student from going on to the next step

Post Comment Community Blog ID: UC-2 Post User Comment To Community Blog Actors: Users: students, professors and researchers. Description: Enables users to post comments on provided articles, questions, and other related content as a part of platform wide discussions located on the community blog. Trigger: User has desire or need to post on the community blog page. Preconditions: 1. The user is registered 2. The user is logged on Postconditions: 1. Normal Flow: The comment is posted 1. User navigates to the community blog 2. User locates post of interest or necessity 3. User reads existing post 4. User clicks Comment 5. System generates a list of previous comments along with comment text box 6. User enters their input into text box below existing content and comments 7. User presses submit comment button 8. Comment is sent to TU press for approval 9. TU Press approves comment Exceptions: 8a. In step 8 of the normal flow, if the press does not approve the comment 1. Comment is blocked from posting 2. A warning message is sent to the user responsible for the comment flagging them for inappropriate use of the platform

Create New Forum ID: UC-3 Create New Forum Actors: Professor Description: To create a forum topic and question in which students registered for a given course can comment and view others comments Trigger: Professor desires to add a forum topic and question for a given course in order to allow his or her students to engage in discussion surrounding that new forum entry Preconditions: 1. Professor has a registered account on the site 2. Professor has knowledge of the topic and question the user would like to add 3. Professor has added at least one course in the system 4. Professor is logged into his or her Professor Portal on the site Postconditions: 1. A new forum topic and question will be added for a designated course 2. Students registered in the system for the designated course will be able to view and add comments in regards to the topic and question created by the professor Normal Flow: 1. Professor clicks on My Class located on the menu bar 2. Professor clicks on Forums located under the My Class section of the page 3. Professor clicks Add Forum Topics button 4. Professor selects a course number from the Select Course drop down menu 4. Professor enters a title in the Title input box 5. Professor enters a question in the Question input box 6. Professor clicks the Submit button 7. System indicates transmission is successful Exceptions: 4a. In step 4 of the normal flow, if the professor does not enter a title in the Title input box 1. The new forum entry will not have a title 2. Use case resumes on step 5 of the normal flow 5a. In step 5 of the normal flow, if the professor does not enter a question in the Question input box 1. The new forum entry will not have a question 2. Use case resumes on step 6 of the normal flow
