AudienceView: How to create a Digital Behaviour Report

1 A Digital Behaviour report provides granular insight into what your audience segment does online so that you can plan your campaigns more effectively. What are the main benefits of running a Digital Behaviour Report? Find the Industries and websites your audience engages with most Focus on the most relevant search terms in your campaigns Build meaningful messages and content for your target audience What will you learn in this guide? 1) 2) How to schedule a Digital Behaviour Report 3) How to customise and export the results 1) How create a Digital Behaviour Report You should follow these steps if you are creating a report for the first time You must have created the audience segment before you can run this type of report From the AudienceView homepage, click on the Create button on the toolbar and select Digital Behaviour Report Alternatively, you can click on the quick link button that says Digital Behaviour
2 An editing panel will appear with two drop-downs The top drop-down relates to the Target Audience Select the subject audience segment for your report The Target Audience relates to the subject of your segment. Use the drop-down to choose the segment. Click on Generate A confirmation message will display, including a link to the report list. Click on the Report List link, this takes you to the Manage page which shows all the Digital Behaviour reports you have created. Click on the name of your report to run it. Review the Status of your Digital Behaviour Report here. It will indicate once it is Ready to run.
3 When your report Status is Ready click on the report name to be taken to the Digital Behaviour report. The default view shows the parent industries visited by the users in your audience segment, ranked by their Share of Visits and Total Visits of that segment. You can click on the + button next to each industry to view this data at a website level From here you can create a Custom industry of the sites you are most interested in by ticking the box next to the website and clicking the Create Custom Industry button Tick the sites you want to add in to a custom industry.
4 Using the tabs in the top left hand corner switch to Search Terms to see the top terms performed by the users in your audience segment, ranked by their share of Search Clicks, Paid Clicks, Organic Clicks, Paid Rate and Organic Rate. From here you can create a Search term Portfolio of the terms you are most interested in by ticking the box next to each and clicking the Create Search Term Portfolio button Tick the terms you are interested in and you can use them to create a Search Term portfolio. Sort by the relevant metric as required. 2) How to schedule a Digital Behaviour Report Click on Schedule button in the top toolbar Schedule the dates you would like to receive the reports by Use the drop down to schedule how often you would like the report ed Use the second drop down to select the format you would like (XLSX or CSV). Then press OK.
5 You will see that you are given an option in the top toolbar to Unschedule the report Change the settings to Do Not Schedule and No and press OK 3) How to customise and export the results In the Results table you can click in the header of each column to either hide or re-sort the data: o Sort Ascending Data will rank in ascending order o Sort Descending Data will rank in descending order o Hide Column Remove this metric from your results view From the top toolbar click on the Export button An Export Report button box will display You can indicate the number of sites you wish to export Finally press Export and a CSV file will become available to download
