3 City of Milton, Wisconsin Apply Online This guide will take you through the process of applying for a position with the City of Milton online. STEP 1: Below is the main job page at the City ( Click on Job Opportunities circled below to view the jobs that are currently available. You can also access this page by going to This will take you to the Job Opportunities page shown below.

4 STEP 2: On the Job Opportunities page, scroll down until you see the job postings as shown below. STEP 3: Click on the position you are interested in, and it will take you to the screen below. Click on the Apply link (circled below).

5 STEP 4: Clicking on the Apply link will open up a new window and take you to the website login page as shown below. You must create an account if you haven t done so already. The Create an account link is circled below. You should remember your username and password for future job openings. You will need to have an address in order to set up an account. A few websites that offer free addresses are as follows: and The City of Milton primarily communicates with applicants through as well, so make sure to check your periodically during the application process. Please note: You will not be able to create another applicant account using the same address once your account has been set up. Therefore, if you typically share an with someone, it is best to set up your own for the application process. If you previously set up an account, but forgot your username or password, you can click on Forgot Username or Reset Password links below the Sign In button. Once you ve set up your login, the website will walk you through setting up your account step by step. You will not need to create a new application every time you re applying for a position.

6 STEP 5: Complete all the applicable areas of the application including Info, Work, Education, etc. as shown in the left column on the screen circled below. After each area is completed, click Next circled below to go to the next section.

7 Here are a few tips when completing these sections. Do not include dollar signs or commas in the Monthly Salary in the Work section. It will indicate it is an Invalid Monthly Salary. There is an option for Present under end date if you are entering information for your current job.

8 Attachments could include a cover letter, resume, or other items.

9 Agency Questions are required to be completed for reporting purposes. Some of the questions are not required and are considered optional. For example, applicants do not need to answer the first question shown in the picture below ( What is your racial/ethnic group? ). Most of these questions are confidential and are not reviewed by Department Directors who review the applications. Questions with a red asterisk by the number are required as shown in the second picture.

10 Also in the Questions area is a section called Supplemental Questions. These are job specific questions and required.

11 STEP 6: The Review area is the applicant s opportunity to review all of the responses for each section of the application. If there is a problem with your application, it will be indicated on the left hand column. As you can see in the picture below, there is a problem with the Questions area of this application. The applicant should click on that area and fix the error. The error will also show in the review section as shown below.

12 STEP 7: After reviewing the application, click on Proceed to Certify and Submit. Then click Accept & Submit to submit your application.

13 STEP 8: The applicant will then see this screen showing the application has been successfully submitted. Once the applicant certifies and submits the application, the applicant will receive a confirmation .
