1 PROGRAM OVERVIEW Give your best parts customer s online access to Ford Motor Company technical information. FCSD research has shown that Installers and Fleets would like easier and quicker access to more technical information. The Ford Motor Company online Technical Resource Center (TRC) was developed to do just that. The TRC is designed to help your Dealership foster and reward loyalty among your wholesale parts Installer or Fleet customers by providing them with technical information that is similar to the information your Dealership uses. The TRC does not include the full scope of resources available to you; however, it does include major elements, like: Service publications o Repair shop manuals o Electrical wiring diagrams Technical Service Bulletins (TSBs) Rotunda Tools & Equipment Information And much more Dealers who meet the TRC program qualifications will be able to give TRC subscriptions to up to 30 key Installer or Fleet customers. The aftermarket annual cost for each TRC subscription is $2,500 per year. To be eligible for TRC Membership, these customers must meet a $1,100 average monthly purchase minimum of Motorcraft or Ford Motor Company Genuine Parts from your Dealership. Your Dealership can require customers to meet additional qualifications to receive TRC subscription if desired. The TRC is not targeted at independent body shops. There is no charge for the program for Certified Parts Wholesaling

2 Dealerships. All TRC enrollments automatically expire on December 31. You can enroll your Dealership in the TRC program via DPES. You will need to re-enroll in the program each year for a new TRC registration code, which you will need to re-enroll your customers. (They will not be able to access the site if you do not re-enroll them.) To be eligible for enrollment, you must be a Certified Parts Wholesaling Dealer and you must be enrolled in the Service Information Continuing Enrollment Program. PROGRAM ADMINISTRATOR Your Dealership will need to appoint a Technical Resource Center Program Administrator. Your Dealership should designate the Parts Manager to be the Dealership Technical Resource Center (TRC) Program Administrator. The Program Administrator s role is to manage all of your Dealership s customers who have a TRC Membership. Your Program Administrator s responsibilities include: Enrolling in the Program Your Program Administrator must enroll your Dealership in the TRC program at DPES. Your Dealership must re-enroll in the TRC program each December to get a new TRC registration code. Write it down immediately. Your new registration code will serve as your password for your Dealership s TRC Administration, where you will be able to enroll and deactivate your Installer or Fleet customers. The Program Administrator must notify any current TRC Membership customers if you choose not to re-enroll them in TRC.

3 Registering TRC Customer Accounts Your Program Administrator must register all of your TRC Membership customers as authorized users in the TRC. When registering, make sure you assign a unique user ID for each installer/fleet customer. A user ID can only be used by one individual in the country. Deactivating an Account Your Program Administrator can place a temporary hold on a TRC Membership without removing the information from the TRC database. This temporary deactivation option should be used, for example, if the customer is not meeting the eligibility conditions or you would like to sign up a different customer for a TRC Membership. Activating an Account If your Dealership has fewer than 30 active TRC Memberships, the Program Administrator may reactivate a previously deactivated Membership, if that customer is once again meeting the minimum monthly purchase requirement for eligibility. Deleting an Account Deletion will permanently remove the TRC Membership Account from the TRC database. They can be re-enrolled at a future time by re-entering all of their information. Communicating with Customers Your Program Administrator is responsible for communicating any changes in the TRC program to your customers who have a TRC Membership, including any changes you have made to your customer s Membership status. Communications can be found on the Parts Wholesaling Web site.

4 TIPS TO HELP GROW BUSINESS Help grow your parts business with the Technical Resource Center Program. Your wholesaling parts customers have been asking for access to Ford Motor Company technical information. Now you can give it to them. This program can be invaluable to your customers and help you build greater loyalty to your Dealership. Here are nine tips to help you get the most from this great resource. 1. Get familiar with the benefits of the Technical Resource Center (TRC). The Program Overview section will provide you with the details and benefits of the program. 2. Select your top Installer or Fleet customers to whom you will provide a Preferred Membership to the TRC. Remember, only those customers who meet a $1,100 monthly purchase minimum (rolling quarterly basis) are eligible for an account. 3. Use the welcome letter included in this online kit, and the flyer available on the Parts Wholesaling Ad Creator, to welcome your customers into the program. Remember to add the Installer or Fleet customer's TRC user name and password, as well as your Dealership's contact information to both the and flyer. 4. Set up face-to-face meetings to introduce your selected customers to the program and invite them to join. Provide them with one of your customized Welcome to TRC flyers. Some Dealers will gift wrap this flyer before presenting this $2,500 gift. 5. Reinforce the benefits of using Motorcraft and Ford Motor Company Genuine Parts: o Designed, engineered, recommended - and backed - by Ford Motor Company o Full range of parts with the same fit as the original, helping make repairs quick and easy o Expert technical support and no-hassle returns o Comprehensive knowledge of ancillary parts

5 6. Follow up with the customer and ensure that they were able to access the site. 7. Confirm regularly that they are meeting the monthly purchase minimum. 8. Notify the customers of any new enhancements or changes to the TRC or their membership status. 9. Continue to grow the relationship by communicating with the customer on a regular basis! CONTACT US All TRC administrators who need limited assistance can contact the TRC Web site Support Center directly by clicking Contact Us and then completing the appropriate form. A response will be provided within two business days. FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS I m having problems enrolling my account on the TRC Make sure they are using a unique user ID. User ID can only be used by one individual in the country. If they have a firewall that rejects the TRC, they will need to have their administrator change the security settings on their computer. Ford does not provide outside computer trouble shooting support for the TRC. How is my account notified that we ve enrolled them in the TRC? A generic will automatically be sent informing them of their enrollment. NOTE: The generic notification will automatically go to the address you entered when signing up the new account. However, as part of the enrollment qualifications, you or your team must

6 personally deliver user name and password to your customer. FCSD strongly suggests that Dealers download/print the Welcome to TRC Flyer inviting them to the program.
