Introduction There are student Konica Minolta copy-printers in most IT suites and across the libraries. These vary in size, colour capabilities and speed.

3 Introduction There are student Konica Minolta copy-printers in most IT suites and across the libraries. These vary in size, colour capabilities and speed. However, they are all linked to the Papercut system which regulates credit. Student print credit can be obtained from: The cashloaders (notes and coins) o Penryn Campus Main IT Suite Library (near helpdesk) Design Centre (near model suite) Peter Lanyon building (Humanities & Politics IT Suite) o Falmouth Campus Fox2 IT Suite Library Online Credit added by a specific course or department The credit can then be used to copy or print. 4 Copying All students can use their ID card to gain access to the copiers. Hold the ID card near the proximity readers (indicated by the stickers on the front of the copy-printers) and this will link up your ID card to your Papercut online profile. Swipe/hold card over sticker (pictured beneath the screen area). The card reader is embedded within the machine. The Konica Minolta screen will then appear (see Page 3 for photo). Then simply choose the COPY option Change options to suit requirement Press blue Go button to copy To logout press ACCESS Troubleshooting: If your card is not recognised or working please contact servicedesk@fxplus.ac.uk and a technician will look at your problem. All student data is held on a Papercut database so the problem can soon be diagnosed. Please note that damaged cards might no longer work and new ones can be bought from your relevant student support offices (See page 12 for further details). 5 Printing using Papercut Whenever you log onto a campus PC/MAC a print profile will always have a default printer. This might be FIND ME (ie held on a central server for later release) or simply one of the dedicated IT Suite machines close to you. Ensure that you know which printer is your current default option as this might quicken your search for your work during busy periods, especially if you print accidently to another building or campus Please note that due to popular demand there are a mixture of FIND ME and dedicated printers. The dedicated IT Suite machines print automatically as soon as you press print and confirm your job on the PC/Mac. For FIND ME (usually in the libraries) you ll need your ID CARD to log in first before then clicking in the RELEASE folder to view which files you would like to print. All print jobs sent to the FIND ME queue will self-delete within 72 hours if not released. These will not be charged. Charging only occurs as work is printed from the machine. The RELEASE folder for FIND ME printing is indicated in the picture on Page 3. First log into your Papercut User Account via: Browsing to webprint.fxplus.ac.

6 Webprint Webprint allows you to print from your own laptop whilst on site. This is of particular help during busy periods when the IT Suites are full. Your job will then appear in a queue, with the history of other jobs also being illustrated. If finished press LOG OUT. If submitting more than one job simply repeat process.

Please note that the campus limit is 10MB so sending through multiple pages in colour at a high resolution might cause the application to fail. In such a case try using a USB: Go to SCAN/FAX page Insert USB at right hand side of machine Wait for message to come up, then press the button illustrating scan to external device Set the scan to external device settings (and change filename if required) then press the BLUE GO BUTTON Once saved simply pull out the stick Student Guide to PrintCopyScan 2013/14 Page 11

Students can then collect the new card from the Student Information Desk on receipt of an advising them that it has been made. 2) By sending an requesting a replacement card to : cornwall-cardoffice@exeter.ac.uk You will receive an advising them when the card is ready for collection from the Student Information Desk and make their payment on collection (of 10).
