2 INTRODUCTION Log into the correct dedicated Art & Design lab computer connected to an Epson Verify you have enough print credit in Papercut to proceed. Verify the printer is ready to print. Remember the following points are critical for high quality image printing to achieve good color consistency: use quality ink jet specific paper specify the correct paper in Printer Setup select the correct ICC color profile for your paper slower printing = higher quality (disable speed printing options as necessary) 2017 calpolyad.dozuki.com Page 2 of 8

3 Step 1 Select the Printer Open the image you want to print in Adobe Photoshop. Make any changes or edits desired and save your work. When you are ready to print, select: File and Print from the menu bar to start the process. in the Print Setting box, select the correct printer: Epson 3880 The printer name will vary. The prefix is for the location ( CL = Computer Lab, etc.), and the suffix is will designate which unit (1, 2, 3, etc.) Step 2 Select Color Handling In the Color Handling box, select: Photoshop Manage Colors calpolyad.dozuki.com Page 3 of 8

4 Step 3 Select Printer Profile In the Printer Profile box, select the correct profile that matches your paper. In this example, we are printing on: Epson Premium Photo paper - GLOSSY, and have selected the corresponding profile. Be sure to select the correct profile for your paper! Step 4 Select Print Settings Confirm: Printer selected, Color Handling, and Printer Profile are all set correctly. Click on the Printer Settings... button calpolyad.dozuki.com Page 4 of 8

5 Step 5 Print Dialog - Show Details In the Print dialog box, click on the Show Details button to expand and show advanced options. Step 6 Select Paper Size/Input Tray Click on the Paper Size box, and select the corresponding size from the list. Notice that there also an option to select different input trays for many paper sizes (where the paper is loaded). The default input tray for most prints will be the Sheet Feeder, which is the front top paper slot. 6 Step 7 Select Printer Settings From the center pull down menu, select Printer Settings. Step 8 Select Media Type & Finish From the Media Type drop down menu, select Paper Type, and then Paper Finish/Quality calpolyad.dozuki.com Page 6 of 8

7 Step 9 Verify Print Settings Verify your Print settings: Number of copies: [1, 2, etc.] Paper Size: [your paper] Page Setup: [correct input tray] Media Type: [your paper type] Output Resolution: [varies by media] For best quality, uncheck the High Speed option box. With all the setting confirmed, click the Save button to return to the Printer Settings dialog box calpolyad.dozuki.com Page 7 of 8

8 Step 10 Review and Print Almost done. Review the settings one last time, and make any changes required. If you need to confirm you can go back through the steps. If the configuration is not correct, you can click the Cancel button and start over. If everything looks good, click the Print button to charge your Papercut account and send the print job to the printer. Depending on the Application and file size, you may see up to a couple minute delay before any activity begins on the printer. Once the printing begins, the time varies based primarily on quality, size, and resolution of the print. Large, high quality prints can take about 10 minutes.
