4 Module Introduction Concepts of Graphics and Illustrations Ever since the evolution of multimedia, graphics have gained immensely. It has enriched greatly from the ever-evolving technical breakthroughs coupled with ground-breaking creative enhancements. With the evolution new applications in graphics, new dimensions have been added to it. As a result, it is imperative for anyone who undergoes a graphics course to do justice to the subject. Today graphics applications spawn a wide spectrum from entertainment, education, business, and print to the Web. With all these areas growing at a tremendous pace, the usage of graphics is bound to face challenges hitherto unknown. This book explores the basic concepts of graphics and their application. The aim of this book is to make students understand the basics of graphics and illustrations. The first session deals with drawing. It covers different types, elements and categories of drawing. This book also covers topics like, graphic images, color, typography and their use in multimedia. Focus is also given to design principles, understanding resolution techniques, and graphics files.
