1 Welland Public Library Children s SUMMER PROGRAMS 2014 The Library wants to keep kids reading skills sharp and ready for their next year of school TD SUMMER READING CLUB What s your spark? Where s your inspiration? Find it this summer at the TD Summer Reading Club at the Welland Public Library branches. Kids, you can join other makers and shakers to invent, create, hack, tinker and innovate throughout the summer months. Children s Reading Club Wanna win some great prizes over the summer? All you have to do is read! Any book, at any speed and as many as you like. This summer you can set your own goals, and as you reach them get great prizes like books, gift cards for ice cream, Tim Hortons, Seaway Mall and ballots for a draw for a day at Bissell s Hideaway. Come into the library to sign up any time after Canada Day! Teen Reading Club! Hidden in our teen collection there are books, great books that we love. And if you check one out, you ll TD Summer Reading Club 2014 get a five dollar gift card for Seaway Mall. Come in to the library for more information. Marble Roller Coaster (ages 3 and up) Friday July 25: 10:30am Noon Come in and build the scariest, coolest, most epic ride for a marble ever! Graffiti Wall (ages 3 and up) Friday August 15: 10:30am Noon Come in and leave your mark on a giant wall hanging. Note: Registration is required for all programs unless otherwise noted. All supplies are provided unless otherwise noted. Some programs involve food products. Please be aware of any allergies. Summer Fun with the Museum (ages 5-10) Friday, August 15: 2:00 3:30pm. 8 SPECIAL EVENTS SPECIAL EVENTS Amphitheatre Antics Thursday July 10: 6:30pm Splash N Boots Splash N Boots of Treehouse TV fame will have kids up on their feet singing and dancing along. This is a free event all are welcome to join WPL for a night of song and dance at the Welland Amphitheatre. RIDE TO READ July 2 August 31 Welland Public Library is proud to partner with Welland Transit for a summer of reading and riding to both Library branches! Children 13 years and younger can enjoy free rides to the Library on Welland Transit all summer long by showing their stickered library card upon boarding any conventional service bus. Children ages 4-9 must be accompanied by a paying adult (14 years and older). Children are free and can ride alone.
