5 1. Introduction of RemoteWOL 1.1. What is RemoteWOL? Rsupport RemoteWOL (Model: WV0101) helps to turn on a PC remotely suing a PC. Wake up PC in Hibernation or in Sleep Mode and use it in remotely also before you arrive at home or office you can turn on your PC which will increase your business productivity. Through WOL companies can remotely manage PC power from different areas or different branch offices ranging from PC power also able to control the energy-savings and costeffectiveness at the same time can be obtained RemoteWOL Power Management The conventional approach is by installing agent on the remote PC to manage the Power ON/OFF. But RemoteWOL equipment doesn t need agent installed on remote PC to manage remote PC s power when there are connected on the same network because it can manage the remote PC power through the RemoteView server. 6 2. RemoteWOL Components 2.1. Check the product components 2.2. Name of parts 1 SYS: LED indicating the state of the power. 2 WAN (front): LED indicating the modem and internet connection (FTTH) status. 3 LAN (front): LED indicating status of PC and wired connection to LAN port. 4 Reset: Button that can activate reset function. Hold for about 10 seconds to initialize. 5 WAN (Back): Port to connect the Router and LAN cable. 6 LAN (Back): PC and wired connection to the LAN port. 7 DC9V: Power Connection Cable port. 9 5. RemoteWOL Setup Prerequisites 5.1. Initializing RemoteWOL 1 Press and hold the reset button on the RemoteWOL appliance for 10 seconds. The reset button can be found on the back-side of the device. The System LEDs will turn on and blink with the WAN LED turning on and blinking afterwards RemoteWOL Checklist 1 Check if the PC is compatible. Please check to see that your motherboard and network adapter supports Wake-on- LAN (WOL). If you are unsure if your motherboard and network adapter supports Wake-on-LAN (WOL) technology, contact the product manufacturer(s) to receive additional information. 2 Check for firewalls. If network packets are being blocked by a firewall or by any other hardware, RemoteWOL may not function properly. 3 Check to see that the computer you wish to turn on is on the same network as the RemoteWOL appliance. The RemoteWOL appliance must be on the same network as the PC you wish to turn on. Additional equipment must be installed to turn on a PC on a different network. 4 Check to see that the LAN cable is properly plugged in. Please check to see that the LAN cable is securely plugged into the PC. If the LAN cable is loose, or is unplugged, RemoteWOL may not function properly. Copyright 2001~2013 RSUPPORT Co., Ltd. 10 6. RemoteWOL Installation 6.1. DHCP Network Environment (Obtain IP Address Automatically) The RemoteWOL appliance and PC must be on the same network. DHCP Network must be supported. 1 Connect the RemoteWOL appliance to the power adapter. 2 Connect the RemoteWOL WAN port to the router via LAN cable. 3 Open a web browser and go to to see where to find the RemoteWOL appliance MAC address. 4 Locate the MAC address on the back of the RemoteWOL appliance, input it into the box labeled MAC Address, then hit Search. 12 7 Enter network settings and register an administrative account. Set the network to: Obtain an IP Automatically using DHCP. 8 Once the network settings have been properly configured, click Next to continue. 9 Verify that the network settings are correct then click Yes to confirm the configuration. 14 6.2. Static IP Environment (Use the following IP address) Directly connect the computer to the RemoteWOL appliance. 1 Connect the RemoteWOL appliance to the power adapter. 2 Connect the RemoteWOL WAN port to the computer via LAN cable. 3 Open a web browser and type the following IP address into the URL bar: If an error occurs during this process, navigate to to resolve it. 4 This will bring you to the RemoteWOL Setup page where you can configure network settings and register an administrative account. Under Network Settings, set to Use the following IP address and input the appropriate IP address, subnet mask, default gateway, and default DNS information. 5 Verify that the network settings are correct then click Yes to confirm the configuration. 15 6 Once the network settings have been saved, the RemoteWOL appliance will reconnect. 7 Connect the RemoteWOL WAN port to the router via LAN cable. 8 Once the network settings have been saved, the RemoteWOL appliance will restart and the installation process will be complete.. 16 7. Using RemoteWOL 7.1. Log-in/Log-out 1 When RemoteWOL initial setting is all finish WOL equipment will reboot and it will connect automatically to the set IP address. 18 7.3. Setting RemoteView RemoteView agent Register/ unregister 1 Click Register Agent button. 2 Enter RemoteView user information. 22 7.4. Network Settings Change Network Information The set network information on WOL equipment can be changed. After modifying the Network information, DNA information, and Proxy server settings, click Apply button at the bottom of the page. Part marked with * mark must be entered. 29 To Update Firmware 1 When you click Update firmware button, WOL equipment downloaded firmware update file will be applied. 2 To select the Firmware update file click Browse button and to apply the firmware update file click Upload button. 31 9. Configuring RemoteView Administrators Page (Enterprise type) 9.1. Agent can be deleted Agent account can be changed WOL equipment agent s displays name and remarks can be changed, and network information, etc can be confirmed. Turn ON vpro PC Turning ON vpro PC feature can be added to detail information on the vpro PC agent. 항목 Turn ON vpro PC 설명 When vpro PC power is OFF you can turn it ON through WOL equipment even if there is no turn ON PC on the same network.
