1 1. For the following question, is the requirement necessary for the prime vendor or will the data center providers certifications in this area be acceptable? Describe the vendor s certification, documentation and attestation to compliance with the following; - PCI - ISO SSAE 16 Data center provider s certification would be acceptable. 2. Who is the incumbent vendor? SunGard. We currently use them as a hot site. No cloud services. 3. So it sounds like you are mostly looking for just the infrastructure itself to replicate to, versus the management of that replication etc.? Stated differently, do you plan to continue to manage your own production systems and the replication? That is correct. We currently use a SunGard hot site for recovery. We believe the cloud is a solution that we should closely explore, but we don t know much about it and how it works. That is why the RFP might seem confusing, we are going to rely on vendors to propose options and find the best fit for SURS. That being said, at this point we have staff and equipment onsite and I do not see that changing in the near future. 4. Are you only looking for a D/R as a service target for the VMware and IBM systems? Yes 5. Or is there interest in looking at a completely outsourced and managed IT infrastructure for Production and Disaster Recovery? Not at this time 6. Do you own any replication solutions like MIMIX for the IBM i system? We currently use itera to keep information synchronized between the iseries production partition and the iseries Web partition. We are not using it for High Availability. 7. Do you have any replication solutions like Veeam, Zerto or SRM for the VMware systems? We currently use Veeam for backup of our VMware systems. 8. Are we required to supply this system as part of our infrastructure or can we propose an alternative solution? You can propose an alternative solution. The tape drive information is probably only important if you are proposing a hot site solution. 9. The RFP states you are interested in reducing RTO time frames. Currently under our current contract, we would recover at a hot site from our backup tapes. Any improvement over this would be good, relative to cost. 10. Is RTO the most important aspect? Do you have a target for RTO improvement? Your RPO is 1hour. Currently we backup to disk then to tape nightly. Therefore, if we were to lose the data center it could potentially be a 24-hour RPO. We perform snapshots hourly throughout the day to give us a 1-hour RPO.

2 11. Are you looking to match that or get close? Since we have no experience with cloud recovery and our understanding is limited, we are looking to vendors to offer solutions that would best fit SURS. 12. Can you clarify this aspect from a process stand point? We currently spend approximately $30-35k annually for our current solution. We are looking to improve our Disaster Recovery scenario at a reasonable cost. 13. What CPW do you require for each partition? Model 8202-E4B can have 4,6,or 8 cores with total CPW between 5,900 and 46,300. We have feature It has 2 cores across 4 partitions with approximately 3500 CPW in prod. 14. Do you already have all the licenses you need for itera and Veeam? We have licenses for itera and Veeam, but I m not sure we have what we would need for a cloud scenario? 15. Which partitions do you want in a high availability solution? (Our clients don t typically do so for Test or Dev) PROD 16. How many VMWare VMs do you have? (I m just confirming the 100 that you told me in our call) We have approximately 100 servers and also have VDIs, but in a disaster scenario there are only 30 servers that would need to be recovered. 17. There is a conflict within the RFP on RTO and RPO. What are the requirements? Sorry for the confusion here. The first one would be based on a cloud replication scenario. The second one would be on a backup scenario? This is where I get confused. Some vendors are giving pricing for both options. I understand the one where we are replicating, but if we are only backing up to the cloud, what would happen in a disaster and our data center was destroyed? Would we have to find a place to operate out of and purchase equipment and then restore from the cloud? I apologize for my ignorance in this area, but I am still trying to grasp how the whole cloud thing would work. We are hoping that the vendor we partner with is going to be able to help us figure out the best option for SURS. 18. In section 2.4, the RFP calls for a 24 hour RTO and a 1 hour RPO. In tables at the back of the RFP, in Resiliency and Recovery question RS1, it calls for a 72 hour RTO and a 24 hour RPO (this is our current RTO and RPO). 19. iseries : a. What OS version is the Physical iseries running? V7R2 b. For each iseries LPAR: I. What Operating System version are they running? V7R2 II. What is the number of CPU s for Recovery? What Operating System version are they running? Windows Server 2008,2012 b. What is the number of CPU s for Recovery? 2 c. What is the number of RAM for Recovery? 4GB to 16GB d. What applications are they running? AD/DNS, MS Exchange, IBM FileNet, MS SQL, SAGE Timberline, CIFS shares e. What is the total GB Data Base Data? See 20f f. What is the total GB Data in use? 8 TB not including CIFS/Shares, 6TB data for a total utilized of approximately 14TB. 21. Network: a. How much Internet bandwidth is available at the production site? 100MB b. How many sites would need to be connected to the recovery site for a test or disaster via the Internet? One 22. Please clarify your RPO and RTO requirements In section 2.4, at the bottom of page 4, it states that Applications and Data (24 hour RTO and 1 hour RPO for all). Yet, on page 12, in section RS1, the requirement is stated as Can the vendor deliver backup and restoration capacity to operate effectively within the organization s RTO (within 72 hours) and RPO (within 24 hours)? 23. How many VMs are running on the four USC B200 M4 hosts? 200 (approximately 30 critical) 24. How much memory (RAM) is on each of the four USC B200 M4 hosts? 512GB 25. How many new VMs are added on an annual basis? What version of Exchange does SURS currently use? Does SURS require any always-on resources at the service provider for items such as AD/DNS or SQL Cluster? No 28. What backup software does SURS currently use for the iseries? BRMS 29. What backup software does SURS currently use for the VMware environment? Veeam 30. Would SURS accept a change in backup software to support a vendor s proposed solution? We would consider it 31. If the proposed solution relies on replicated backups, how many copies does SURS want to keep off-site? Two 32. What is the daily change rate of SURS data? We do not track this. Nightly incremental backups for the NAS average ~ 25GB. iseries incremental backups average 280GB.

How much Internet connectivity does SURS currently have and how much of it is being utilized? 100mb total - on average 60mb is utilized. 35. Which Telcom/Bandwidth providers are available at SURS? SURS currently utilizes AT&T 36. How many annual tests does SURS desire, and of what duration? 1 for 24 hours 37. Will the DR Testing involve the entire environment or a subset only? subset 38. Some can be transferred and some must be rebought, plus we want to be sure to account for everything you need. See iseries Licensed Software document 44. Are you looking for DR-as-a-Service only, or hosting with DR services? At this time we are looking for DR-as-a-Service only. 45. On page 4 of the RFP it states 24 hour RTO and 1 hour RPO for all data and applications. On page 12 of the RFP under Resiliency/Recovery RS1 is states RTO within 72 hours and RPO within 24 hours. Can you please clarify what the business requirements are for the RTO and RPO? 46. What is the make and model of your storage systems? FAS What is the make and model of your SAN network? SURS RFP for IT Infrastructure Services questions: a. Is a list of virtual machines and their provisioned resources (vcpu, vram, storage) available? If this is not answered adequately in the questions above, we will consider this request. b. Can we be provided with the hardware specifications/architecture of the Exchange system? Windows Server 2016, 4 CPUs, 16GB memory c. Is there a tape backup requirement for the hosted solution? No d. a 24 hour RTO and 1 hour ROP is specified in this section, however section 5.1 RS1 requests a 72 hour RTO and a 24 hour RPO. Please define the correct requirement. e. Please provide the average data change rates for the systems that are to be protected. We do not track this.
