10 Click on the Drill Symbols (1), then the Unassign All button (2) followed by selecting the Automatic Assign (3) and finishing by clicking the Close button (4). 1/21/2009 Page 10 of 45 Author: JAD Human

16 Exporting Gerber Files from P-CAD Gerber Files and Preferred File Extensions The following table lists each of the Gerber files that can possibly be generated as output from a PCB document. 17 The following files are typically required for a double sided through hole plated printed circuit board and we will generate only these Gerber files in the following exercise. 19 In the Options Configure menu, click the Manufacturing tab (1) set the Solder Mask Swell to 6.0 (2) and then click OK (3) to finish. 1/21/2009 Page 19 of 45 Author: JAD Human

22 To typically set up a layer, in this case the Top Layer, first enter the File Extension as GTL followed by the setting of the Output Path.. ( Example: C:\Gerbers ) Next select the following Layers: Top and Board followed by the ticking of the Pads, Vias selection boxes, check Output Path then click the Add button. 1/21/2009 Page 22 of 45 Author: JAD Human
23 For the top silkscreen layer, select Top Silk, Board, and tick the RefDes box. Enter GTO in the File Extension box, check the Output Path ( Example: C:\Gerbers ) then click the Add button. 1/21/2009 Page 23 of 45 Author: JAD Human

29 On the File Export Gerber Menu you now need to click the Apertures... Button. 1/21/2009 Page 29 of 45 Author: JAD Human
30 Ensure that the three (3) boxes on the lower left have been ticked as per the following example. First click the Unassign All button then click the Auto button to automatically assign appropriate apertures then click the Close button. 1/21/2009 Page 30 of 45 Author: JAD Human

32 First click the Unassign All button and click the Automatic Assign button to allocate the necessary drill symbol to each hole diameter. Click Close when finished. 1/21/2009 Page 32 of 45 Author: JAD Human

34 Ensure the Inches and the numeric value 4.4 radio buttons have been selected as well as the RS-274X box has been ticked. Click Close to continue. 1/21/2009 Page 34 of 45 Author: JAD Human
35 You have now finished setting up the necessary Gerber Files and must now click the Generate Output Files button to have the resultant files created in your default path directory. (Example: C:\Gerbers). Click the Close button when the file creation operation is complete.
