2 Description WebSphere MQ Integrator Broker for HP NonStop Kernel technology is a powerful information broker that selects and distributes information to the applications, databases, and people that need it. maximizes the advantages of your HP NonStop Server environment, while maintaining full, standard functionality. The product s multi-process, multi-threaded architecture provides good scalability for a mixed workload including database operations, as well as CPU-intensive operations such as message transformations. The ease by which you can integrate your NonStop applications using WebSphere MQ Integrator Broker for HP NonStop Kernel has been significantly enhanced by allowing custom plug-in nodes to use native HP NonStop communication mechanisms. For example, WebSphere MQ Integrator Broker for HP NonStop Kernel can be configured with a custom input node that can act as a TS/MP server; you can use TS/MP requester applications to drive integration message flows directly. The combination of WebSphere MQ Integrator Broker for HP NonStop Kernel and MQSeries for NSK running on the NonStop Server platform provides a fault-tolerant, easy-to-use, flexible, and scalable platform for your enterprise integration hub. Users can implement realtime, application-to-application message transformation and intelligent message routing quickly and easily. It is flexible so applications can be added, extended, or replaced within information flows. is a cross-platform middleware application integration engine. WebSphere MQ Integrator Broker for HP NonStop Kernel does not contain the rules and formatter support found in WebSphere MQ Integrator. Customers, Business Partners, or other third parties may add to these functions by developing further plug-ins for use with this open framework concept. uses WebSphere MQ to send and receive messages between applications. Extensions to the Logical Model Explicit cardinal attributes MRM supports four basic cardinal attributes (one, one or more, one or zero, zero

3 or more) plus the ability to extend this to cardinal attributes such as (more than two and less than six). Sequence and Choice Compound types have a composition property that defines how they are composed of their type members. In a sequence, the type members (if present) must appear in the order specified. At most, one of the type members can appear. OrderedSet and UnorderedSet Two further composition types required for XML modeling allow compound types to be composed of other types. This is to allow modeling of DTD elements whose content specs include parentheses; for example, (A,B (C,D). Support for ANY, EMPTY, and MIXED element content. XML attribute support Allows XML attributes to be modeled as child elements. This also implies that a compound type can have a value (previously only simple types held values). Support for DATE/TIME/DATETIME datatypes. More than one CWF format may be defined per message set. Application Header A structure may be specified to be used as an application header for all messages in the set. Many XML message sets are designed in a header/body pattern. Distinguishing a header in this way allows WebSphere MQ Integrator to read the header to ascertain the message type of the body. User-definable properties A message designer can add new attribute/value pairs for an element or type modeled in the MRM. These properties are accessible at runtime. New XML mapping layer: A new XML layer in the data model allows the following aspects of the mapping between the logical model and physical XML to be defined: Control whether XML descriptors and doctype are generated or not and control their content Customize the XML root element name to allow messages other than native MRM messages to be modeled Identify or specify an element name or value in the XML as containing the message-type identifier Identify the XML element and attribute names to be used for child elements (unless defined in this layer), the default is to use the logical model s element identifier Render logical datatypes into their physical representation in the XML (particularly the rendering of DATE/TIME/ DATETIME), which can also be customized In addition, the range of supported identifiers includes any valid XML element name, without the : character (in other words, it must start with a letter or underscore and can continue with letters, digits, underscores, hyphens, or full stops). Tagged format support: A new Tag Wire Format (TWF) layer in the message model allows the physical mapping to be defined for tag-delimited strings: Tag indicator A reserved string that delimits the start of a tagged value Tag terminator A reserved string that delimits the end of a tagged value Tag separator A reserved string that separates the tag from its field Continuation character Indicates the continuation of field data onto a new line Escape character Used so that special reserved characters (such as delimiters) can be included as part of data Reserved characters String that specifies special reserved characters that must be preceded by the escape character if they are to be included as part of the data Message-begin delimiter Special reserved character used to indicate start of a message body Message-end delimiter Special reserved character used to indicate end of a message body Specializations of this TWF layer are provided with preset values for: SWIFT (ISO 15022) EDI X.12 (ISO 9735) and EDIFACT ACORD/AL3 Enhanced support for plug-in node developers: The plug-in node API enables customers and Business Partners to write additional input nodes for WebSphere MQ Integrator Broker for HP NonStop Kernel. A new set of Java objects and classes is provided to support the development and deployment of plug-in nodes written in Java. This new interface provides access to the full range of function required for the development of new plug-in nodes. New ESQL features: The SELECT function allows arbitrary restructuring of message trees, even those with nested repetitions. The SQL standard CREATE PROCEDURE, CREATE FUNCTION, and CALL statements are introduced. Database stored procedures defined to the broker by the CREATE PROCEDURE statement can be invoked by the CALL statement. This allows stored procedures to have proper parameter type matching and to return output values. Field references may now contain expressions for the type, name, and index of fields, allowing fields whose names are not known until runtime to be accessed without the slow EVAL statement. The Message Broker component determines how capacity unit requirements are calculated. Calculations must be made using the appropriate type of processor for the operating system in use

8 Capacity unit requirements The charge unit for WebSphere MQ Integrator servers is based on capacity units, with each processor group requiring a certain number of capacity units. You must identify the machine on which you will install the product, and purchase the required number of capacity units with your order. Problem determination (PD) is a customer responsibility. PD is an assessment of whether a problem is caused by hardware or software. PD is complete only when the cause of the problem is identified. This assessment includes examination of available symptoms using the PD procedures documented in the product. Problem source identification (PSI) is a customer responsibility. PSI begins when software is determined to be the source of the problem. PSI includes tracing the source of the program to a host system control program (SCP), an application program, or another source. Assisting the customer with PSI is an IBM service and support responsibility. Packaging: WebSphere MQ Integrator Broker for HP NonStop Kernel media consists of multiple CD-ROMs. It contains program code and PDF files of the publications for viewing online. Multiple capacity units will need to be purchased depending on the applicable processor group on which WebSphere MQ Integrator Broker for HP NonStop Kernel is installed. Ordering instructions 1. Refer to the WebSphere MQ Integrator Broker for HP NonStop Kernel Processor Group List table shown in the Planning information section of this announcement. 2. Input the number of servers in each tier. 3. Total the number of capacity units per tier by multiplying the number of servers per tier by the number of capacity units per tier. 4. Look up the Licensed Software maintenance Passport Advantage number required based on the duration (one or two years). 5. Order the above part number and specify the total capacity unit quantity (ref. 3) plus a copy of the media.
