Section 1: New Features on Tradex Section 2: Operations to be performed on Tradex Section 3: FAQs on Tradex Members are requested to go through the features of the new functionality of setting User Collateral Limits and adhere to the procedure for setting limits for all Users below the Corporate Manager. No limits should be set for the Corporate Manager so as to prevent disablement of the Corporate Manager User id. 2 Section 1: New Features on Tradex 1. User Limits User wise margin limit module for trading is being introduced for the first time on NCDEX. The Corporate Manager can monitor the limits of all Users below him by setting up of margin limits on the Limits Screen. Please note that no limit should be set for Corporate Manager, i.e. the Set Limit should be unlimited. Setting of limit for the Corporate Manager User id may result in disablement of the Corporate Manager and the Corporate Manager will not be able to set limits for other Users. a) Setting of limits: Corporate Managers can now manage margin limits at the User level. The right to set, update, modify and control all User limits is available to the Corporate Manager. The default value for all Users is set to Unlimited. To set new limits and save Press Ctrl+G to invoke User limits screen Press space bar on the User Id row or click on the left check box to set the limit. Enter the required value in the field New Limit in Rs. Lacs. or click on Unlimited check box to set unlimited limits. Click on Save Changes button at the bottom of the window. b) Updation of limits: The utilized limits will be updated for the User at the end of every trade. The new limits will be updated on the screen every 5 minutes. c) Disablement: Once the utilization crosses 100%, the User gets disabled automatically and trading will not be allowed. All pending orders of the User will be cancelled. d) Enablement : The Corporate Manager can enhance the limits of the User by entering the new value in the New limit column and saving the changes. The User will be automatically enabled by the system once the new limits are accepted and updated by the system. 2. Ticker customization Speed control: Users can now control the speed of the tickers of both spot and futures by clicking on the left and right arrow buttons on the ticker to increase/ decrease the speed. The ticker options are available by clicking on the gray band on the ticker. 3. Menu based navigation and User All actions/functions performed by the User are navigable by a Menu Bar on the Front-end along with the short cut key. This helps the User in familiarizing with the functions and improves the User interface. Column headings for all screens have also been added to make the screens more readable and user-friendly. 2 / 21

3 4. Market Watch features a) Configuration of Market watch Selection of multiple colours with improved user interface. Configurable font size to help readability. Resizable columns and hiding of columns. b) Contracts can be sorted by any of the columns on display. c) Facility for setting up multiple Market Watch windows up to a maximum of 5. The multiple Market Watch windows can be opened and tiled on the screen. User can also save and re-open the saved setting for later use. d) Right click menu facility in Market Watch and adjustable window sizing. This facility helps the viewer to view additional information on the contract and do the following actions at the click of a key. View Center-wise Spot prices Contract list View Contract descriptor Save Market Watch Market by Price Configurable Market Watch e) Additional commodity details like warehouse location, grade, etc. are now available by double clicking the contract in the Market Watch. f) Enhanced Market Watch screen Additional columns for spot price of basis center, quantity/price unit, net change indicator, average trade price, etc. 5. User preferences The User can now set the time period for auto-locking of the Workstation instead of a standard time frame in the earlier version. This can be done by selecting Workstation settings/user preferences. Colour preferences can also be set for all important screens on the Front end. 6. Saving and print facility Saving and printing functionality has been provided on all screens to help Users to save a back up of the current view. 7. Categorization of markets The new Front-end provides better view of different Market Watch screens, orders and trades by categorizing commodities into Agro and Metal. 8. Order/trades Order entry navigation using both keys and mouse. Quantity price unit in Order entry screen. Sorting facility for orders and trades in various screens. 9. Availability of Bhavcopy in User Reports menu. The end of day Bhavcopy is now available for download in the Reports and backup menu. 10. 5 Section 2: Operations to be performed on Tradex 1. Setting of configuration parameters The configuration parameters will be the same as being currently used on the existing TWS. To set the parameters, click on Ctrl+Spacebar on the login screen Enter your TM id in Broker Id field. This field is entered once and need not be specified at the time of every login. For VSAT/Leased line Users o Host IP address : o Broadcast IP Address : o Port : For Internet Users o Host IP address: o Broadcast IP Address : o Port : Relay Number Enter the relay number allotted to the User 2. Uploading of contracts The latest contracts master will be available on the Extranet\Common\NCDEXDocuments\ ddmmyyyy.zip. The 4 master files are o ncdex_contract.txt o ncdex_participant.txt o WarehouseLoc.txt o delta_contract.txt Copy these files on Local PC:\Program files\tradex TWS\Database Go to login screen of Tradex and click on Upload Upload the master files from the given path. Login to the system with valid User id and password 3. Market Watch A maximum of 5 Market Watch windows can be set up on a single Tradex screen. The multiple Market Watch windows can be opened and tiled on the screen. The Market Watch can be saves and re-opened the saved setting for later use. A maximum of 100 contracts can be set up on a single Market Watch view. Steps for setting up and saving the Market Watch Go to Top Menu Bar/Market Picture and Click on New Market Watch (SHORT CUT: Ctrl +N) Press Shift + F7 - Selection of Contracts Select the contracts for the Market Watch window Click on > arrow key to move the selected contracts Click on >> to select all contracts 5 / 21

6 Click on SET TO MARKET WATCH to configure the Market Watch window. Click on File/Save As (SHORT CUT: Ctrl + S) to save the Market Watch window with a user-defined name. 6 / 21

8 SECTION A: WHATS NEW 1. What are the new features in Tradex? At a glance the following features are being introduced for the first time on NCDEX Trader Workstation (TWS). a) User Limits User wise collateral module for trading is being introduced for the first time on NCDEX. The Corporate Manager can monitor the utilized limits of all Users below him by setting up of collateral limits on the Limits Screen. Automatic updations, modification, disablement and enablement have now being implemented at the User level b) Ticker customization: The ticker on spot and futures prices can now be customized as per user requirements. The speed, color and placement are some of the features that can be changes. The ticker will be available even after minimizing the TWS. User can also disable or exit the ticker. The ticker options are available by clicking on the gray band on the ticker. c) Enhanced Market Watch: The Market Watch screen has a host of enhanced features to make the screen rich in information and user friendly. Additional columns have been added to provide relevant information and customization features have been enhanced. d) User preferences The User can now set the time period for auto-locking of the Workstation instead of a standard time frame in the earlier version. This can be done by selecting Workstation settings/user preferences. The following additional information is available on all commodities: 1. Delivery details Warehouse Location containing warehouse addresses at all delivery locations Delivery Lot Unit of Delivery 2. Contract Start date and End date 3. Delivery Request Start date and End date 4. Price Quote: Exclusive or Inclusive of Sales Tax 5. Delivery specification: Seller s option or intention matching 6. 10 SECTION B: INSTALLATION AND SET UP 3. What is the hardware/system configuration set up required for Tradex? ANS: The minimum hardware/system set up required for Tradex is as follows: Hardware - A P3/P4 (Assembled or standard machine (recommended) with minimum 128 MB RAM or more). Operating System: Windows 2000 Professional with Service Pack 4. Hard Disk: Minimum 20 GB. The Tradex Front-end will not be supported on Windows NT environment. 4. How do I install the software? ANS: Download the full version of the latest Tradex version from the Extranet\Common\NCDEXDocuments\Tradex folder to the local PC. Double click on Install.bat and follow the installation process. Now your Front-end has been installed. In case you already have an older version of the Tradex Front-end, please install only the update for the latest version. Download the update patch from Extranet\Common\NCDEXDocuments\ Tradex. The update will be available in the Patch Folder. Copy the folder on the local PC. Select all the files from the folder and paste it in local PC:\Program files\tradex TWS folder. Double click on Update.bat to upgrade from earlier version to latest version. Click on all OK messages and Press any key to exit the screen. Now your version has been upgraded. 5. How do I set the configuration parameters? 11 6. How do I upload the latest contracts? The latest contracts master will be available on the Extranet\Common\NCDEXDocuments\ ddmmyyyy.zip. The 4 master files are o ncdex_contract.txt o ncdex_participant.txt o WarehouseLoc.txt o delta_contract.txt Copy these files on Local PC:\Program files\tradex TWS\Database. 12 SECTION C: MARKET WATCH AND TICKER 7. How do I set up and add contracts on the Market Watch You can set up a maximum of 5 Market Watch windows on a single Tradex screen. A maximum of 100 contracts can be set up on a single Market Watch view. a) Steps for setting up and saving the Market Watch Go to Top Menu Bar/Market Picture and Click on New Market Watch (SHORT CUT: Ctrl +N). Press Shift + F7 - Selection of Contracts. Select the contracts for the Market Watch. Click on > arrow key to move the selected contracts. Click on >> to select all contracts. Click on SET TO MARKET WATCH to configure the Market Watch. Click on File/Save As (SHORT CUT: Ctrl + S) to save the Market watch with a user-defined name. b) Adding /deleting contracts Add contracts by Pressing Shift + Insert button. Select the contract from the Contract list (shift + F7) Delete Contracts by pressing Shift + Delete button. c) Categorisation You can categorize the contracts into different markets Agro or Metal by selection on the filter provided on the contracts list window. 8. What is new in Market Watch? a) Additional information on the Market Watch screen The Market Watch screen provides enhanced information on the contracts Additional columns for spot price of basis center Quantity/price unit for every commodity Net change indicator Average trade price Total Trade quantity b) Customization on Market Watch screen Right click menu facility is available in Market Watch and adjustable window sizing. This facility helps the viewer to view additional information on the contract and do the following actions at the click of a key. 13 c) Resizable columns and hiding of columns Columns can be hidden and resized based on the information display required. Contracts can be sorted by any of the columns on display. d) Customization of colors and fonts To customize the color and font of the Market watch, you can go to Top menu\workstation settings\user preferences. Select the font size and the colors as per choice and save the setting. e) Other information You can now access additional details on a commodity like warehouse location, grade, etc. double clicking the contract in the Market Watch. 9. What is new in the Ticker? a) Speed control You can now control the speed of the tickers of both spot and futures prices by clicking on the left and right arrow buttons on the ticker to increase/decrease the speed. The ticker options are available by right clicking on the gray band on the ticker. b) Color features on Ticker Right click on the grey band on the right side of the ticker. c) Ticker placement Place the mouse on the grey band on the right side of the ticker. 14 SECTION D: USER COLLATERAL LIMITS The User Collateral Limits module for trading is being introduced for the first time on NCDEX. You can monitor all Users under the Corporate Manager by setting up of collateral limits on the Limits Screen. The limits module will monitor the utilized margin liability of all Users under the Member. Example: Field Set Limit 10 Trade Value 5 Initial Margin 10% 0.5 MTM Margin 4% 0.2 Total Used Limit 0.7 Available Limit 9.3 % utilized 7% Rs in Lacs 10. How do I view my own utilized limit as the Trading Member? The Trading Member can view his own utilized limits on the screen by pressing F12 from the Corporate Manager User Id. 11. How do I monitor the User level collateral limits on the Front-end? Corporate Managers can now manage the collateral limits at the User level. The right to set, update, modify and control all User limits is available to the Corporate Manager. To set new limits and save Press Ctrl+G to invoke User limits screen. Press space bar on the User Id row or click on the left check box to set the limit. Enter the required value in the field New Limit in Rs. Lacs or click on Unlimited check box to set unlimited limits. Click on Save Changes button at the bottom of the window. 12. Can I set my own Collateral Limit as a Corporate Manager No limit should be set for Corporate Manager, i.e. the Set Limit should be unlimited. Setting of limit for the Corporate Manager User id may result in disablement of the Corporate Manager and the Corporate Manager will not be able to set limits for other Users. 13. Can I set my own limit as a User? The right to set limits is available only with the Corporate Manager User Id. 14 / 21

15 14. How frequently will the limits be updated? The utilized limits will be updated for the User at the end of every trade. The new limits will be updated on the screen every 5 minutes 15. When will the User get disabled? Once the utilization crosses 100%, the User id gets disabled and trading will not be allowed. All pending orders of the User id will be cancelled. 16. How do I increase the limits? What happens on increasing the limits? The Corporate Manager can enhance the limits of the User by entering the new value in the New limit column and saving the changes. The User will be automatically enabled by the system once the new limits are accepted and updated by the system. 15 / 21

16 SECTION E: ORDER MANAGEMENT 17. How do I enter orders on the screen? The order entry buttons on the Front-end remain the same F1 or + for Buy orders and F2 or - for Sell. The only change in the order entry screen is that stop loss orders are to be selected from the field Order type. 18. How do I view my outstanding order and modify and cancel order already placed? Press F3 on the key board to view the outstanding orders. Pressing F3 while placing the cursor on a blank row of the Market Watch gives all the outstanding orders for the User in the market type. If any contract is selected while pressing F3, then outstanding orders for the contract will be displayed. Outstanding orders will be displayed for a Market Type. The default value is Agro. To cancel a order, press Shift + F1 and scroll the mouse to the required order and click on Cancel button To modify an order press Shift + F2, select the order to be modified and click on Modify button. Press Enter+ Ctrl after making the changes to the order. 16 / 21

17 SECTION F: TRADE MANAGEMENT 19. How do I view the trades already executed? The User can view the trades by pressing F8 Previous Trades Menu. The previous trades will be displayed for a Market Type. The default value is Agro. 20. How do I print trade messages: Double click on system message area. Select message Type Trade and search for trade messages. Specify the message range in Start Number and End Number for display of relevant messages for printing. Click on Print Button to print the messages. 21. How do I view Branch/User trades As a Corporate Manager, you can view the trades done by any branch or User in your hierarchy. Click on F8 for viewing previous trades Enter only the branch id to search for Branch trades. To view the trades done by any User under the branch, enter both Branch and User id or only the User id. 22. How do I view clients trades? You can view the trades done by you as a User/Corporate Manager / Branch Manager Click on F8 for viewing previous trades Select the client flag on the Pro/Client field and specify the Client code. To view all client trades, leave the Client Id field blank. To view trades for a particular client, specify the Client Id. 17 / 21
