13 Main menu Primary Master Transfer Mode specifies the number of sectors per bloc for multiple sector transfer: Disabled Multiple sector transfer is not activated. 2 Sectors, 4 Sectors, 8 Sectors, 16 Sectors Multiple sector transfer is activated. If LBA Translation is set, blocks are transmitted, otherwise sectors. LBA Translation converts the physical formatting of disks in cylinders, heads and sectors so that the generated logical values lie within the BIOS limitations. This means that a disk capacity of over 528 Mbyte can be supported. Enabled If the disk supports LBA and it has a capacity of more than 528 Mbytes, BIOS translates the disk parameters. Disabled BIOS uses the disk parameters and supports a maximum capacity of 528 Mbytes. I Change the entries only if you are installing another disk drive. PIO Mode defines the transfer rate of the disk drive. If possible use the Auto parameter in the Type item. This means BIOS will determine the best possible transfer rate for the disk drive. Disabled The transfer rate is not set. Standard 2 Mbyte to 4 Mbyte per second Fast PIO 1 2 Mbyte to 4 Mbyte per second Fast PIO 2 4 Mbyte to 5 Mbyte per second Fast PIO 3 5 Mbyte to 10 Mbyte per second Fast PIO 4 10 Mbyte to 16 Mbyte per second FPIO 3 / DMA 1 5 Mbyte to 10 Mbyte per second FPIO 4 / DMA 2 up to 16 Mbyte per second I If transfer rates are set incorrectly, the disk drive will be either too slow, does not boot correctly or does not respond. A26361-D1790-Z

14 Boot Options Main menu 32 Bit I/O specifies the width of data transmission between the processor and the controller (Enabled = 32 Bit, Disabled = 16 Bit). Ultra DMA Mode specifies the fast Ultra DMA transfer mode for the disk drive: Mode 0 = 16,7 MB/s, Mode 1 = 25,0 MB/s, Mode 2 = 33,3 MB/s or not (Disabled). 2.2 Boot Options Main l Boot Options PhoenixBIOS Setup Utility Item Specific Help POST Errors: Keyboard Check: SM Error Halt: Quick Boot: Quiet Boot: Memory Testing: Boot Menu: Boot Sequence MultiBoot for HDs: [Disabled] [Disabled] Pauses and displays SETUP entry or resume boot prompt if error occurs on boot.
