9 Important notes Important notes This chapter provides safety instructions which you must observe when handling your server. Safety instructions! Be careful - components on the system board can become very hot! Observe the safety regulations in the manual Safety and Ergonomics and the following notes on safety. Before operating the server: When setting up and before operating the server, read the notes on environmental conditions in the chapters Technical specifications and Installation. The operating switch and the main switch do not disconnect the server from the power supply. The power cable must therefore be pulled out of the protective contact socket. The server automatically sets itself to a voltage in the range of 100 V to 240 V. Make sure that the local mains voltage is within this range. Read the notes in the chapter Installation before connecting or disconnecting cables. Always follow the instructions in the hardware guide for the system board when replacing the lithium battery on the system board. The CD-ROM drive contains a light emitting diode (LED), classified according to IEC 825-1:1993:LASER CLASS 1. Modules with electrostatic-sensitive components: Modules with components which can be damaged by electrostatic discharge (ESD) can be marked with the following label: A26361-K531-Z

10 Important notes When handling modules with ESDs, it is essential that you observe the following guidelines: You must electrostatically discharge yourself (e.g. by touching a grounded object) before handling such modules. Any devices or tools that are used must be free of electrostatic charge. Pull out the power plug before mounting or dismounting ESDs. Touch ESDs only at the edges. Do not touch any connectors or conduction paths on an ESD. Also observe the following: When cleaning the server observe the notes in the chapter Inbetriebnahme und Bedienung. Keep this operating manual close to your system. If you pass the system on to another person, you should also give them the operating manual. Transporting the server! Transport the server only in its original packaging or in another suitable packaging which protects it against shock and impact. Unpack the server only at the location where you want to set it up. Do not carry the server alone. 4 A26361-K531-Z
