1 Intro SplashID safely and securely stores sensitive personal identification information including user names, passwords, credit cards, calling cards, bank accounts, PINs, and more. Information is stored in a secure, encrypted database and is quickly accessible on a PDA, smartphone and/or desktop computer. SplashID is an indispensable application when trying to manage and remember dozens of Web site usernames and passwords, or to store other sensitive records such as credit card numbers, insurance policy numbers, frequent flyer numbers and other forms of identification. The data in SplashID is password protected and kept safe and secure using Blowfish encryption. Data is instantly accessible whether in the office, at home or on the road with SplashID s support for all leading PDA, smartphone and desktop platforms. 2 Security Password Protection SplashID secures sensitive data using 256-bit Blowfish encryption. Once a password is set, data is encrypted (on both the handheld and desktop application), and the password must be entered in order to launch the application. In addition, if SplashID is running and the device is left idle for a user-defined period of time, the application will auto-lock, and the password will be required to open SplashID. Field Masking In addition to requiring a password to launch SplashID, users can keep sensitive passwords and PINs safe from prying eyes by masking sensitive fields. Any field can be masked and will appear as four bullets ( ). Masking can be temporarily turned off to view field data as needed. Password Generator If users wants to keep Web site passwords unique, or they work in corporate environments that requires them to change their network passwords frequently, they will appreciate SplashID s automatic Password Generator. With it. unique passwords can be automatically created that meet specific requirements such as codes that include numbers and letters and are a certain length. Page 2 6/19/2004

3 Personalization Record Types Each record in SplashID is assigned a Type. Types are like templates, which define the data they contain. Each Type includes six custom field names, notes and an icon. For example, the Credit Card Type includes fields for Name, Credit Card number, and Expiration Date, while the Web Login Type includes fields for Username, Password and URL. Users can also customize these attributes on a per record basis. And, in addition to Types, each record can be assigned to a category (e.g., Business or Personal). Page 3 6/19/2004

4 List View SplashID is extremely customizable. Users can control the following attributes: Choose which columns to display in the list view. Choose a row color. Choose a font size/style. Filter the List View by Type or Category. Icons Each record in SplashID may have an icon associated with it for quick visual reference. SplashID users can choose from 40 popular icons and can also add custom 3 rd -party icons (Palm OS only). 5 Desktop Software In addition SplashID includes Desktop software (for Windows and Mac OSX) that performs full two-way synchronization with the handheld, making the process of managing data on a handheld much easier and efficient. The desktop computer keyboard and mouse can be used to enter and edit data and then sync it with the handheld. The Desktop software is included with the purchase at no additional charge. Beaming Records in SplashID can be beamed via IR or Bluetooth to other devices running SplashID, providing an easy way for coworkers to share records or for spouses to share credit card or PIN information. vid Records can be imported/exported in CSV format or in Virtual ID (vid) format. A vid file is simply a text export file that is encrypted and password protected. A vid file can be securely sent (via ) to others and they can simply double-click the file and enter the password to decrypt the data and automatically import it into their database. Data can also be archived in vid format for backup protection. In fact, vid backups happen automatically. Page 5 6/19/2004

6 Printing Records can also be printed from SplashID Desktop. Although printing the data can be a security risk, this may be a good way to archive a hard copy of sensitive records and place in a safe deposit box for safe keeping. Page 6 6/19/2004
