1 Go to the Home Screen on your tablet and click on the: My Files (Yours may be in a different location) (Android only) Notice that you are in the right place. Tap on Internal storage 1

2 Tap on the 3 vertical dots Tap on Create folder 2

3 Name the folder SxS Routes Give your folder a name you will remember. You may want to have separate folders for each area that you ride. SxS Routes Deschutes N.F. SxS Routes Willamette N.F. Folders are important to stay organized and be able to find what you are looking for. When you are done tap CREATE. 3

4 Your new folder Now you are ready to Export your Placemarks and Track/Line to your new folder. There are 2 reasons for this: 1. You now have your file saved in a folder. If something goes wrong with Avenza you are going to have to wipe it out and reload the Avenza App. All of your tracks and placemarks will be gone. 2. You will be able to Drag and Drop your files into a folder on your desktop or onto another device (tablet or phone). 1. Open Your Avenza App 4

5 Open the Avenza App on your tablet. Open the map that has the layer/track on it that you want to Export. I am going to open my Bend Trail Map The Red tracks are the ones that I want to Export Now Tap on the Pin. This may be at the top of your screen if you have not updated your Avenza App. 5

6 As you can see I have 7 Layers. You may only want to download 1 or 2 Layers. You need to make the layers that you don t want to Export invisible. Here how, (Next Slide) If you want to Export 2 of the 7 layers: With you finger, Press and hold on one of the features that you want to hide until it becomes Selected. Now just Tap on the other features that you want to Select. (Your screen should look like this) Next step: Tap on the little Eye. You may have a Layer that has multiple features, Track/Line and Placemarks and you only want to Export the Track/Line. Simply open the Layer that you want to edit and use the same method as above to hide the Placemarks. 6

7 Now your screen will look like this with 5 of the Layers hidden (faded). Just remember to repeat the process to turn them back on. This process can come in handy if your map is becoming to cluttered with Placemarks, Tracks/Lines. simply turn some of them off. Now you are ready to Export the 2 Layers. Tap on This is your Export Page. You could Export the tracks as a GPX for use on a GPS device but for now we will Export the tracks as a KML. Make sure you check the box Export visible only if you have hidden some of your Placemarks, Track/Line. Tap Export (You can tap anywhere in this area). 7

9 Tap on Back to Internal Storage Scroll down until you find the SxS Routes folder that you created Tap on the folder 9

10 Notice that you are in the right folder. Now you can Tap on the Check Mark Go back to the Home Screen on your tablet and click on the: My Files and make sure the file is there. (Yours folder may be in a different location) (Android only) 10

11 Now you are going to want to hook your tablet/phone to your computer using a USB cord. If you have never done this your computer should automatically locate and download the necessary files to connect to your device. 11

12 Exporting Layers/Tracks Hit the start button and the click on Computer. Find your device on your desktop. You are going to download files from your tablet or phone to your desktop or another device. (Android) Now click on the device that you connected to your computer to download the files. In my case it is the New Tab A 32gb Click on Tablet 12

13 Exporting Layers/Tracks When you open the Tablet the next screen will display the My Files on your tablet or phone (Android). You can Drag and Drop the entire SxS routes folder to your desktop or open the folder and... (next slide) Drag and Drop just the files you want onto your desktop. You can drag and drop multiple files at the same time. Here is a tip for you: Drag and Drop files from one tablet to another tablet. Simply connect both tablets to your computer and have both of them open to My Files and drag and drop the files directly to the folder on the 2nd tablet. See Next Slide. 13

14 Tablet #1 Tablet #2 Here is a tip for you: Let s say you want to download files to another tablet. Simply connect both tablets to your computer and have both of them open to My Files and drag and drop the files from the 1 st tablet directly in to the folder on the 2 nd tablet. After you Drag and Drop Routes and Place Marks to a new tablet you will need to import them to the Avenza Map on the new device. Note: I store all of my routes on my computer just in case my tablet crashes. Next Slide. 14

15 Download Tracks & Place Marks to Avenza Map From to Avenza Open Avenza Tap on the Orange circle. Next page tap on the Orange circle with the down arrow Tap on the From Device Storage. Next page Tap on Internal storage Then Tap on SxS Routes or the folder you stored your tracks in 15

16 Download a pdf map from to Avenza Tap on the Routes or Place Marks that you Exported to the folder. It will be identified by the name of the map that you downloaded them from. In my case from the Bend Trail Map Routes are almost done downloading Tap on the Back Button on your tablet to go back to the Avenza map Routes will be on the map 16
