2 Introduction These instructions are intended to help participants access the Center for Excellence in Youth Development at the United Way of the National Capital Area (UWNCA), FY18 DC OST RFP Online Grant Technical Assistance (GTA) session. If you have trouble completing the training, please

3 LOG IN or SIGN UP Returning users and New users Open an internet browser and go to this link: Fill out the appropriate form for you, explained below Check for UWNCA logo If you already have an account then complete the LOG IN section your address and password and click Enter. If you are new to UWNCA Online Training site please complete the SIGN UP form and click Create Account.

4 For new users only continue your registration process: click click Fill out the Additional Registration Fields and then click to submit. Pictured is a sample, there are more than this to complete. click

5 For New AND Returning users: Welcome to the site! Please click on the Course Catalog link to view and choose courses. click To find the online GTA session, click on DIY Courses

6 For New AND Returning users: Click the Learn More button Click Add To My Courses Then either click Take Course to start immediately, or click to go back to your list of courses or go back to the course catalog After clicking Take Course, use the arrows at the bottom right to advance through your course as you complete each slide.

7 CHECK SYSTEM REQUIREMENTS Before you begin to take a course, please visit the System Requirements link to see if your computer s programs need to be updated to ensure the best environment for a smooth-running course. Either copy this link into your browser address bar: Or click on the link at the very bottom of the screen after logging in: Here is what the System Requirements page looks like. If anything is highlighted in yellow or red it is a signal to update a program.

8 For other courses in the course catalog: VIEW AND START A COURSE Open the course catalog by clicking that tab in the top menu. Click the Learn More button and then Add to My Courses button to put a course into your account. Click My Courses from the tabs in the top menu. And click the Take Course button to launch and begin your course.

9 COURSE FEATURES Clicking on the Take Course button will open up a new tab in your browser This course is opened on the menu, showing the course and quiz below (3). 2 Click on Notes to type notes in the margin; save, print or to yourself. 3 Clicking on the course or quiz or Previous and Next will switch between the two. 4 Adjust your volume here. 5 This menu will show you an outline of the course. 6 Click on Attachments to see course resources/activities. 7 Click here to read the narrative along with or instead of the audio. 8 Move on!

10 COURSE FEATURES To close a course, close the browser tab: You can close a course, re-open it and go back to where you left off: You will also see this menu at the top right of your course: Course Report will show you the status and time spent in the course. Hide Controls will give you a cleaner looking screen. Help will have some general information and a link to our support hub. Here is a view of the notes section:
