2 Using an Excel Add-In provided by HP and another Excel Add-In and Mapping files provided by QAVantage you will be able to easily export requirements from RTIME and import and update requirements in Quality Center. Pre-Requisites 1. You must know the name (URL) of the HP Quality Center Server you are importing to. 2. You must have the *Quality Center Add-In for Excel Installed - Make sure you install the CORRECT VERSION OF THE ADD-IN 9.0 or 9.2 as it will fail if it is incorrect when it tries to do the mapping - Make sure you install the TDCONNECT UTILITY same issue as above 3. You must have the * RTIME HPQCFormatter Add-In installed. - Download the add-in. - Open Excel and click Add-Ins. Browse for the file HPQAFormatter.XLA - A new menu item is created in Excel 5. You must have the * RTIME mapping files (RTIME5Map1FlatOffice12.req and RTIME5Map2ParentChildOffice12.req) in the correct folder. - For Excel 2003 they should be in: C:\Program Files\Microsoft Office\OFFICE11\XLSTART\TDAddin\Tasks - For Excel 2007 they should be in:c:\program Files\Microsoft Office\OFFICE12\XLSTART\TDAddin\Tasks 2

You must have added the required RTIME mapping fields into Quality Center as described in the next section. * All the RTIME add-ins and files required can be downloaded from the on-line RTIME help. The HP Add-In and TDConnect Utility can be downloaded from you HP installation. An alternative source is the RTIME on-line help. Configure The Quality Center Project User Defined Fields You must be a Project Administrator to add the following custom (user defined fields) in Quality Center. You will add these fields so basic RTIME data elements can be stored and accessible from Quality Center. Using Tools > Project Customization Under Custom Project Entities>Requirements> User Fields 3

4 RQ_User_15 Label: RTIME Req ID Field Type: Number RQ-User_16 Label: RTIME Project Field Type:String Length: 100 RQ-User_17 Label: RTIME Req Class Field Type:String Length: 250 RQ-User_18 Label: RTIME Req Type Field Type:String Length: 40 RQ-User_19 Label: RTIME Req Status Field Type:String Length: 40 RQ-User_20 Label: RTIME Req Status Detail Field Type:String Length: 40 It is recommended you set all fields to searchable and history. In the event these fields are already in use in HP Quality Center, use whatever fields are available and modify the RTIME import map. This is possible in Step 5 below. 4

5 Create New Products in Quality Center to match RTIME Projects When importing requirements to Quality Center, a mandatory field required by Quality Center is Product. Make sure the Project you have defined in RTIME is added to the available look-up field under Product in QC. Again using Tools>Project Customization>Customize Project Entities>Requirements>System Fields Add the RTIME project title EXACTLY as it appears in RTIME. 5

6 Export and Format RTIME Data Export the Requirements 1. Select Search/Export menu in RTIME. 2. Select Requirements 3. Search for the collection of requirements you want to Export and click Export. 4. Save the Excel Spreadsheet created by the Export. If you do not save the spreadsheet the Quality Export Add-In will not show up. Format the Exported Data for Import to Quality Center 1. Re-open the exported data file. 2. On the Excel Menu, Select the HPQC Formatter Add-In. In Excel 2007 this menu will be under the Add-In Menu. In Excel 2003 it is on the main menu. * If it is not present, go to the Tools Menu, Add-Ins and Browse for the HPQCFormatter Add-in that you should have downloaded and installed as a pre-requisite. 3. The formatter will reformat the spreadsheet for import to Quality Center Parent/Child will format the spreadsheet so that the Requirement Class in RTIME will become a Parent Requirement in Quality Center, otherwise the requirements will be imported in a flat structure and requirement class will be a user defined attribute of the requirement. 6

7 Parent/Child Structure in Quality Center Import the Requirements 1. You must highlight ALL the rows to be imported! 2. From the Tools Menu select > Export to Quality Center The Wizard Will Start Up. Type in Server Name. Enter the user name and password. You must be an administrator. 7

8 Pick the Project in QC you are importing into. (You must have an administrator login) Select Requirements 8

9 Select the RTIME Requirements Map. RTIME5Map1FlatOffice12.req will import the requirements in a flat structure and RTIME5Map2ParentChildOffice12.req as described earlier. If for some reason you have trouble seeing the map in the Select a Map pull down, it is easy to create a new map. Select Type a New Map and Enter a Name. Follow the mapping below. Note: Author is not mapped to avoid needing the assigned owner in RTIME to be present in Quality Center. Flat Map: HP Name is mapped to Column B HP Priority is Mapped to Column S HP Product is mapped to Column C (The RTIME Project) HP Type is mapped to Column AM HP Description is mapped to Column E RTIME Req ID (User Defined) is mapped to Column A RTIME Req Class is mapped to Column D 9

10 RTIME Req Status is mapped to Column H RTIME Req Detail Status is mapped to Column I RTIME Req Type is mapped to Column T RTIME HP Quality Center Integration Parent/Child Map: In addition to the above Path is mapped to Column AN If there are any errors, they will be displayed. Correct the excel spreadsheet and rerun the utility. Remember to highlight all the rows to be exported and be sure no required fields have blank values. Updating Existing Requirements Re-Importing Requirements Simply export the requirements with changes, rerun the utility and you can update requirements in quality center, AS LONG AS THE NAME OF THE REQUIREMENT DOES NOT CHANGE 10
