1 Installing Megastat Contents Installation... 1 Troubleshooting Add the Add-in File s Folder as a Trusted Location Unblock the Add-in File Installation 1. Open your browser at and click on the Student Portal link. 2. Click on the IT Support button. 1 P a g e

2 3. In the page that comes up, click on Student IT Information. 4. In the next page, click the MegaStat link under BUSINESS BZ P a g e

3 5. On the next page, click on download the installation instructions to open the instructions (The installation instructions that you can download from this link is the same as this document). 6. On the same page, right click on link and select Save or Save Target As (depending on your browser). Select the location where you wish to save it (see the next step for information about where to save). 3 P a g e

4 7. On a Windows PC/Laptop, it s preferable to save the file in the location below (C:\Program Files\Microsoft Office\Office15 - or whatever version your office is). In MACs you can save it to your Desktop, in your Apps or Downloads folder. (somewhere it won t be deleted). 8. Once you have saved MegaStat.xla, you need to add it into your Excel program. Open Excel. You will notice that unless you have added Add-Ins previously, there won t be an Add-Ins tab across the top In Excel, click on File>Options 4 P a g e

5 9. Select Add-Ins. 10. Ensure Excel Add-Ins is in the text box and then click on Go. 5 P a g e

6 11. At the next window, click on Browse and browse to where you saved MegaStat.xla. 12. Select the file and click on OK. 6 P a g e

7 13. Ensure that MegaStat is ticked and tick any other add-ins you feel you may wish to use as well. Then click on OK. 14. When the Add-Ins finish loading, you will notice that in your tabs, you will now have one called Add-Ins. If the Add-ins tab doesn t show up in your Excel, please go to Troubleshooting. 7 P a g e

8 15. Click on the Add-Ins tab to ensure that MegaStat has in fact installed you can click on the drop down arrow beside MegaStat to select the function you wish to use. 8 P a g e

9 Troubleshooting After following all the steps to install MegaStat and the Add-ins tab doesn t show up in your Excel, try the following solutions. 1. Add the Add-in File s Folder as a Trusted Location 1. Open Excel. Go to File>Options> 2. Go to Trust Center>Trust Center Settings. 9 P a g e

10 3. Go to Trusted Locations and press Add new location. 4. Click Browse. 10 P a g e

11 5. Browse to the location (folder) where you have saved MegaStat.xla in (in this window, you may be able to see the folder where the file has been saved but not the file itself). Press OK. 6. The location that you have selected will show up in the Path box. Tick Subfolders of this location are also trusted. Press OK. 11 P a g e

12 7. The location you have selected have been added. Press OK. 8. Press OK again on the Trust Center Window. 9. Close and re-open Excel. 12 P a g e

13 10. Open Excel and you should see Add-Ins in your tabs. 11. Click on the Add-Ins tab to ensure that MegaStat has in fact installed you can click on the drop down arrow beside MegaStat to select the function you wish to use. The add-in and custom ribbon should now load every time you open Excel. You only need to do this process one time. 13 P a g e

14 12. Unblock the Add-in File If the Trusted Locations list still does not solve the problem, you will also need to Unblock the file. This is an additional property that was added with the Office Security Update for all files downloaded from the internet. 1. Open File Explorer and navigate to the MegaStat.xla file in the location where you have saved. Right-click on the MegaStat.xla and select Properties. 2. Tick Unblock and click on Apply then OK. 14 P a g e

15 3. Open Excel and you should see Add-Ins in your tabs. 4. Click on the Add-Ins tab to ensure that MegaStat has in fact installed you can click on the drop down arrow beside MegaStat to select the function you wish to use. 15 P a g e
