1 AutoCAD guide EZ Cutter 200 (EZ Laser Cutter LCW-200R) Follow this guide step by step to prepare your file for the Laser cutter.

2 STEP #1 Open your *.dwg file in AutoCAD, where * is the name of your dwg file.

3 STEP #2 Select all objects in AutoCAD either by marking objects using the mouse or press CTRL+A

4 STEP #3 Click the dropdown menu called Line Weight Control and select ByLayer

5 STEP #4 Click the dropdown menu called Color Control and select ByLayer

6 STEP #5 Click the dropdown menu called Layer Properties Manager. All layers contained in the document will be displayed here. The layers that shall be cut is coloured Yellow and engravings are coloured Red Lineweight must be set to 0,00 for all layers that contains data which are going to be cut or engraved.

7 STEP #6 When selecting colours, it is important, that you select between the Index color shown at the bottom of the Select Color window, since only these will work when uploading the project to the Laser cutter. (see the eigth available colors in STEP #13 )

8 STEP #7 If done correctly. The Layer Properties Manager should look similar to this. Notice the objects on your workspace chance colours according to the layers. Close down the layer menu.

9 STEP #8 The table where the materials are placed in the Laser cutter measures 1250x900 mm. Click the MATDIM layer, or create a new layer in Layer Properties Manager and then select this layer in Layer Control. Make a rectangle in AutoCAD, clicking the rectangle button or type the command Rectang and make a rectangle of 1250x900 mm.

10 STEP #9 Now you should have a square looking like this. Because of the Laser cutter s margin, make sure that there is at least 10 mm space between the objects that needs to be cut or engraved and the rectangle just made. A tip is to make another square of 10x10 mm in the lower left corner of the 1250x900 mm square. Then make a new square like shown on the screenshot with the dimensions being 1230x880.

11 STEP #10 Now select your objects and place it like shown, using the Move command. The document is now ready to be cut. Note that if objects exceed the margin, there is a risk of the Laser cutter will stop cutting.

12 STEP #11 The next steps will contain information of how to operate the Laser cutter. Press CTRL+P to print your drawing. In Page setup select <Previous plot> if the Printer/plotter is not EZCutter-DC.pc3 then select it. Make sure Plot scale is 1:1 and Plot offset is 0,00 for both X and Y axis. Also make sure that Drawing Orientation is set to Landscape.

13 STEP #12 Click Window in Plot area. Select the Plot area being the rectangle with the dimensions of 1250x900 mm. The Plot area should look similar to the screenshot.

14 STEP #13 In Printer/plotter press Properties... A new window appears. In this one click the Custom Properties... This is where the speeds and power of the Laser Cutter is configured. In Pen Mode make sure that the colors you re using are set to either Normal (best for straigth lines) or Arc Fitting (best for curves).

15 STEP #14 Insert the Speed for the Pen Modes, according to the material that has been chosen. The Laser cutter can cut with a speed up to mm/min, but due to the machine ability to slow down at the corners we don t recommend speeds above 6000 mm/min. However for each material operation speed differs. The thicker the material the slower the cut-speed and the higher the power. Also, the smaller the objects to cut the slower the cut-speed.

16 STEP #15 In the EZCutter-RF Properties click Preferences. Here make sure the settings looks exactly like shown on the screenshot. When done click Ok for both the EZCutter-RF Properties and plotter Configuration Editor - EZCutter-RF.pc3

17 STEP #16 When closing the printer configurations you will be asked about changes to PC3 Printer Configuration File. Choose to save changes and click Ok.

18 STEP #17 Now click Ok and a process bar should come up, which indicates that the data is being sent to the Laser cutter. You will also see that the display of the Laser cutter will show the text Downloading. Once the Laser cutter have finished downloading, then press Start in the Oper. menu. In case of the Laser cutter not cutting anything or missing something, make sure all objects in the document are lines and not solids, since the Laser cutter only cuts lines.
