2 This manual covers download and installation procedures for the following Firmware: Atomlab 500 Firmware Program This firmware can be used with the following products: Atomlab 500 Dose Calibrator Atomlab 500Plus Dose Calibrator Atomlab Wipe Test Counter Required to complete upgrade: 1. Atomlab nd Generation (firmware version 1.22 or later) 2. Flash Drive 3. Internet Connection Throughout the remainder of this document Atomlab 500 will refer to all three Atomlab products, including Atomlab 500 Dose Calibrator, Atomlab 500Plus Dose Calibrator and Atomlab Wipe Test Counter. 3 Download Instruction Firmware On the Biodex website, Nuclear Medicine section, navigate to the Software Downloads page under Products in the left navigation bar, and select Atomlab 500 Firmware Upgrade. 4 How to Download 1. Using a PC with internet access, insert a Flash Drive into the PC s USB port. 2. Take note of what drive letter is assigned to it. (Drive letter may vary on your PC. In this example, we are using F drive.) 3. Select <Save> to save the firmware program file, <Atomlab500Firmware_v13x.zip>, directly to the flash drive. 4. Wait for the download to finish. Once the download is complete, select <Open Folder> to open the folder where you saved the file. 4 Biodex Medical Systems, Inc. 2016

5 5. Locate the downloaded file (Atomlab500Firmware_v13x.zip) on the Flash Drive. For this example we saved the file on the Flash Drive to the F drive on the PC. 6. The files need to be upzipped. Select the file and right click. Select the Extract All option from the right click menu. FIRMWARE UPGRADE 5

6 7. On the next screen, be sure to extract the file directly to the root of the Flash Drive Type F:\ which represents the root directory of the Flash Drive for this example. 8. Once the file extraction is complete, it should look like following screen. It should contain three files along with the.zip file. Remove the flash drive. 6 Biodex Medical Systems, Inc. 2016

7 Updating the Display Firmware Updating firmware can be categorized in two sections- A. Updating from earlier v1.3x versions requires one restart of the display B. Updating from 1.2x versions requires two restarts of the display (x represents 1,2,3,4 etc.) A. Updating from earlier 1.3x versions 1. Insert the flash drive into Atomlab display. It will automatically detect the firmware update. Select <YES>. (In this example we are updating from version 1.31 to version Update To/From version number and Date will vary display to display.) 2. Once complete a confirmation message will display. Select <OK> to restart the display. Figure 2. In this example, updating from 1.31 version to 1.33 version is complete. FIRMWARE UPGRADE 7

8 B. Updating from 1.2x versions 1. Insert the flash drive into Atomlab display. It will automatically detect the firmware update. Select <YES>. (In this example we are updating from 1.22 to version Update To/ From version number and Date will vary display to display.) 2. Once complete a confirmation message will display. Select <OK> to restart the display. Do NOT unplug the flash drive. System will automatically perform the 2 nd update procedure (for Network Client Installation) once the display restarts. 8 Biodex Medical Systems, Inc. 2016

9 3. System will display the following screen after the restart from previous screen. Select <YES> to proceed. 4. Once done, select <OK> to restart the display once again. Remove the flash drive. In this example, updating from the 1.22 version to 1.33 version is complete. The updating process will remain the same for later versions of the firmware (v1.34 and higher.) FIRMWARE UPGRADE 9
