1 EnOcean Introducing enocean The EnOcean technology is an energy harvesting wireless technology used primarily in building automation systems, and is also applied to other applications in industry, transportation, logistics and smart homes. Modules based on EnOcean technology combine micro energy converters with ultra low power electronics, and enable wireless communications between batteryless wireless sensors, switches, controllers and gateways. How to install enocean Stuff The enocean USB Key First, you need to buy an enocean USB Dongle that you should plug on the pi in any USB available port. EnOcean software Then some nodes are needed in Node-RED to communicate with the USB Key. If you want to install it : Use the menu import / node

2 type ttb-enocean in the dialog box. Wait for the install Then reboot and then refresh the web browser page. Using EnOcean devices Now it is possible to use enocean devices. Look at the following documentations: EnOcean temperature sensors EnOcean Occupancy sensors (PIR) EnOcean Contact sensors EnOcean Switches and remotes There is no integration of actuators (plugs...) to date.

3 Motion sensor (PIR) Install EnOcean stuff A EnOcean USB dongle is needed and a EnOcean software should be installed once. Look at the dedicated sheet to install the EnOcean USB dongle and the dedicated software. Register the sensor On the back, you can find the "Menu" (sometime called "LEARN") button. Its exact place depends of the device: Press it. A new node will be created (you get notified to refresh the browser to see it on the workspace). 5 Temperature sensor Nodon temperature sensor. This sensor sends the temperature of a room with a precision below 0.2 C, and a measure range from 0 C to 40 C. The sensor checks the temperature every 100sec. If the temperature changed for more than 0.5 C compare to previous value, the new temperature is sent to the Gateway. Without any variation, the temperature is sent every 15 minutes. Install EnOcean stuff A EnOcean USB dongle is needed and a EnOcean software should be installed once: Installing EnOcean Stuff. 8 Contact sensor Nodon Contact sensor. Combined with its magnet, the sensor detects the «Open» or «Closed» status of the panel (Door or window). The most obvious usage is to monitor a door.
