1 ASPIRE Style Guide ASPIRE Brand Identity The ASPIRE Style Guide provides guidelines to help ensure consistent application of the ASPIRE identity. Projecting a unified visual identity involves more than simply creating and implementing a logo. Graphic standards provide a sound, flexible structure for using logos, color, and typography a graphic "vocabulary" unique to ASPIRE. Because the first contact one has with ASPIRE is often through printed and online communications, it is vitally important that graphic and brand standards be followed closely. By consistently following these graphic standards, ASPIRE s visual identity will become established and recognized. These elements will work together to give all ASPIRE communications a unique and cohesive appearance. Failure to properly use these elements reduces our ability to communicate with the target audiences, and diminishes the identity s value. Consistently using the style standards presented in this Guide the logo, colors, and typography in combination with compelling words is the best way to establish a recognizable identity for ASPIRE. Use of Logo Use in color only Use of black and white copies not permitted. Please plan accordingly to assure that quality color copies are available for your activities and events. The ASPRE logo and materials are purposely not intended to be printed in black and white. Color only printing is required to assure an overall consistent and professional look. Upper left corner of documents o ½ inch from top and right margins Size may vary, but ratio maintained o Keep size large enough to be legible o Logo is scaled proportionally to the document and not stretched to modify shape o Ensure all colors are visible and the word easily read Maintain sufficient white space around the logo, not less than ¼ inch The logo is uniquely rendered. While computer software has made it easy to modify graphics, please resist the temptation to redraw or modify. 1

3 The ASPIRE Font Calibri, 12 Calibri Regular: primarily used for body copy ABCDEFghijklmonpqrstuvwxyz Calibri Italic: use for emphasis ABCDEFghijklmonpqrstuvwxyz Calibri Bold: Use for headlines and subheadings ABCDEFghijklmonpqrstuvwxyz Headings Depending on the number of headings needed, go up in size by 2 font with each heading. Heading 1 size 18 Heading 2 size 16 Heading 3 size 14 and bold ASPIRE Branded Products Use of Letterhead Electronic Letterhead template will allow for insertion of body of the letter not to interfere with logo. Print on 28 lbs. paper Maintain margins on the template to balance of white space to print 3

5 Use of PowerPoint Use ASPIRE PowerPoint templates 1. Power Point with captioning space 2. Live template Create PowerPoints which contain captions and voice over Time for introduction is provided at the beginning Time for discussion and questions/answers follows APL Trainers can assist Use of Kit Cover (folder) When providing a youth or family member with several brochures, flyers, handouts, resources, etc. make use of the ASPIRE Kit Cover. It provides a means for them to keep materials organized and attached to the ASPIRE brand. Business Cards Business card electronic templates are available for each state. Edits can be made using Adobe Professional software or contact the APL Staff. Business cards are to be single sided, unless the Site Coordinator determines that the second side contains the identical ASPIRE information, but the logo of the affiliated agency. ASPIRE is considered the front side, with the affiliated agency as the back side. Use of Notecards Notecards with the ASPIRE Logo may be used to express thanks, send reminders and other official ASPIRE business. Print Professionally 100 lb Cover white paper Color, single sided Finished cards should be 4 1/4 x 5 1/2, folded Made to fit A2 Invitation envelopes, 4 3/8 x 5 3/4. Purchase white envelopes from the supplier of choice 5

6 Banner Stands Banner stand graphics contain ten inches of white at the bottom. White at bottom is for the material needed in the spring loaded stand. Professionally produced Sizes: 33 x 84 or 33 x 48, Use of Website Address The website address is prominent on all print materials. By directing people to our website for more detailed information, printed pieces can be brief and to-the-point while maximizing existing resources. ASPIRE Nametags Standard size, at least 3 wide White background Use of ASPIRE Logo centered at top Black print in Calibri 1.5 tall x 3 wide 6

7 Graphic standard for signature communication is a presentation of official ASPIRE correspondence. Therefore, to maintain consistent branding standards across all forms of communication, it is recommended that staff use the following signature template for external audiences. Visual review of communication Regardless of where it is to be printed, ALL publications and print materials must be reviewed for approval prior to being produced. Ask the Site Coordinator, Project Director or co-worker to review for detail prior to sending. Materials which must adhere to this policy include: Any printed material that promotes specific programs, departments, activities, or special events associated with ASPIRE.
