Thanks to the close cooperation, the P-System connectors are very well integrated into the software to make handling as easy as possible for users. Some software packages offer the capability of automatic connector positioning in the project, in some cases also in specific angle situations such as mitres and non-mitred butt-joints. Learn about our partner network at lamello.com The Lamello P-System was presented to the carpentry firm Bernd Ahlers, which specialises in furniture production, in June The extensive and flexible system met with a very warm welcome, and Bernd Ahlers immediately purchased a Zeta P2 for P-System elements. Since then the P-System has become an indispensable part of their operations. No furniture is made without P-System connectors. The desire for a CNC machine based on nesting technology had been there for a relatively long time, and when Lamello launched the Cabineo connector last year, it tipped the scales for a purchase decision. The chosen suppliers were two partners in the Lamello CNC network: Format 4 for the CNC machine and CAD+T for the CAD/CAM software. They also purchased aggregates for machining mitre joints, so that in future cupboards with tilted tops could also be made on the CNC machine. With the purchase of the Format 4 P-System option, Mr Ahlers could make use of the connector voucher for 380 pairs, sponsored by Lamello. Digital networking, process speed and repeatability with series manufacturing are clear advantages of CNC production. The hole series as well as the 8 mm holes for positioning the Zeta P2 are drilled by CNC. 2. The Zeta P2 is equipped with positioning pins and is correctly positioned on the workpiece by means of the holes. That way the P-system groove is routed precisely and efficiently. P-System in industrial production The Fust joinery in Wil is an industrial manufacturing company that is also able to produce one-offs. The innovative company relies on the P-System. They use the Zeta P2 power tool with the Clamex P-14 and Tenso P-14 connectors. The Clamex P-14 is primarily used for cabinet components due to its attractive appearance and efficiency in the production process, while the Tenso P-14 gluing aid is used for drawers. With just a few clicks, the P-System configurator on our website shows the possible connectors including their optimal positions. Forward the data to production Imos/Homag a comprehensive solution With the imos ix 2017 CAD/CAM software, the Lamello Cabineo can be positioned automatically in your furniture designs with the Connection Technology function. For this the system takes into account the panel thicknesses and the number of connectors, and positions them correctly in the two workpieces to be joined. The connectors are shown graphically, and they also contain the data for the fittings list and the machining parameters for the CNC machine. This allows the workpieces, including the triple holes and counter holes, to be transferred without additional components via the postprocessor to Homag woodwop 7.1 or other packages. In the next step, applications such as the SchnittProfi(t) optimisation software enable nesting of the workpieces before complete finish machining within a single clamping operation on the Homag CENTATEQ N-500 nesting CNC machine. Benz/Leuco a unique Cabineo unit Benz has developed a triple aggregate for drilling the Lamello Cabineo shape with a single plunge. That cuts the machining time to about 1 to 2 seconds. The meshing drills are manufactured by Leuco. The drilling aggregate can be mounted with all common hollow shank taper mounts, enabling deployment on all CNC machines with tool changers. 11
