1 GETTING STARTED WITH KEYBOARDING PRO ONLINE Make sure you have completed the steps to install Office 2013 before proceeding! Last Updated: July 30, If you do not already have Firefox web browser on your computer, you will need it for Keyboarding Pro Online. Open Internet Explorer. (If you already have Firefox, skip to step 7) 2 Go to this address:

2 3 Click the green Firefox Free Download button 4 Click Run 5 Click Install Page 2

3 6 You can choose to import from Internet Explorer if you wish. Click Next. 7 Once the install is complete, go to Nelsonbrain.com (Make sure you do this using Firefox) 8 In the Register a Product section, enter the Access Code. (Check with your instructor on how to get this code) Page 3

4 9 Click Create an Account 10 Fill in the form. 11 Click Continue Page 4

5 12 Choose CEGEP or College or University from the institution Type drop down list. 13 Choose New Brunswick from the Select a Province Drop Down list 14 Choose your city. Page 5

6 15 Click Search 16 Choose New Brunswick Community College from the list and click Continue 17 Click the Open button next to KPDO ERESOURCE FOR COLLEGE Page 6

7 18 If you see this screen, click I understand the risks 19 Click Add Exception 20 Click Confirm Security Exception Page 7

8 21 Click Install 22 Click Save File 23 In the Download Manager (upper right corner of the Firefox window), click the KPDO_ClientTools_Setup, msi Page 8

9 24 Click Finish 25 Close the tab labelled KPDO 26 Click the Open button again Page 9

10 27 At the top of the Firefox window, a bar will appear. Click Allow 28 At the upper left of the Firefox window, this box will appear. Click Allow and Remember 29 Close the KPDO tab once again. Page 10

11 30 Click the Open button once again 31 Click Install 32 Click the Download button. Page 11

12 33 Click Save File 34 Click on the Download Manager icon on the toolbar 35 Click on the vstor_redist.exe download Page 12

13 36 Click on I have read and accept the license terms and then click Install. 37 If you see this window, click Ignore. 38 Click Finish Page 13

14 39 Click restart later 40 Close the Download Visual Studio Tab 41 Close the KPDO Tab Page 14

15 42 Go back to the Nelson Brain Tab 43 Click the Open Button Once again 44 Click Install Page 15

16 45 Click Save File 46 Click the Download Manager icon once again. 47 Click the KPDO_WordAddIn_Setu p.msi download. Page 16

17 48 Click Finish 49 Close the KPDO tab 50 Click the Open button again. Page 17

18 51 Click the Get Adobe Flash Player button 52 You might want to uncheck the box for the optional offer. 53 Click Install Now Page 18

19 54 Click Save File 55 Click the Download Manager 56 Click the install_flashplayer download. Page 19

20 57 Click Next 58 Click Finish 59 Close the new window that shows the Adobe Thank You message. Page 20

21 60 Close the Firefox window. 61 Click the Start button 62 Type the word Firefox and then click Mozilla Firefox Page 21

22 63 Go back to Nelsonbrain.com (in Firefox) 64 Type your username and password you created waaaayyyy back in step 10. Click the remember me button and click Log In 65 Click Remember Me to save you from having to re-enter your username and password again Page 22

23 66 Click the Open button one last time. 67 You are done! (Give yourself a pat on the back!) 68 Your instructor will provide a course code. Remember to reboot your computer before you begin working with Keyboarding Pro Online! Page 23
