3 Enumerator Testing Background 3 Please read through this packet before logging into MOST it will teach you how to become familiar with the new features of the MOST assignment listing. Once you have read this packet, then perform the following: You should have December Crops/Stocks (aka December Agricultural Survey) and/or January Cattle assignments in your listing. Practice sorting the listing as you normally would before contacting operators sort by county, operation name or however you normally sort in order to complete assignments. Be sure to open the questionnaires and become familiar with how a questionnaire loads now versus on the old CAPI system. Read over the new mapping feature and try it out it is a bit complex, but you can create a custom route and chart all of your operations by survey. It will even tell you mileage and estimate time to travel to all the points. Provide feedback to Michael Laird, the CAPI/MOST Point of Contact.

4 Logging into MOST Training Screen Turn on you ipad and find the CAPI Training icon. Touch CAPI Training this will bring up the new MOST assignment listing login screen shown below. 4 Enter Enumerator ID (FIPS plus Employee Id ex 26999) and the password. Tap Login NOTE - NEW: After 5 failed attempts at entering a password or security questions, the account will be locked. The Field Office must be contacted to unlock it. If password is forgotten, click on Forgot Password. Please remember security questions!!!!

5 Login Screen cont d 5 In order for the Assignment Listing page to load properly, a strong cellular or WiFi connection must be available. As the questionnaires, data, and edits are loading, several progress bars will appear across the top of the page. Do not reload or refresh as you are logging in! Remember, ALL questionnaires in the sample are being loaded; it may take a few minutes. Please be patient. Once the questionnaires and Assignment Listing are downloaded, a cellular or WiFi signal is not required to work throughout the day.

6 Assignment Listing Page 6 The top bar contains the same options for both Enumerators and Supervisors 1 denotes the bandwidth available. This is different than the signal strength at the top left of your ipad. It is a troubleshooting tool that you may be asked to report to your RFO or HQ if an issue occurs.

7 Assignment Listing Page: GROUP BY 7 The GROUP BY option allows the assignments to be grouped by Survey or POID. Group by Survey will display all POIDS for one survey together. The surveys with the earliest stop date will display first. Group by POID will display all surveys for one producer together. Opdom 85/45 records will pull together as well as operations in multiple surveys. Persons with multiple groupings display first in the listing. Note: This sort is useful for Supervisors when making assignments and for Enumerators to see which operations have multiple surveys.

8 Assignment Listing Page: SUMMARY 8 Supervisor View Enumerator View The SUMMARY option shows the progress made on the sample across all surveys for each enumerator. Supervisors can see progress of enumerators on assignments across all surveys.

The Mapping feature has been enhanced and tailored to provide the best utilization for supervisors and enumerators. YOU MUST HAVE A STRONG CELLULAR OR WIFI SIGNAL FOR THIS FEATURE TO WORK!!! Begin by tapping MAP ALL.

11 Assignment Listing Page: MAP ALL 11 THIS IS ONLY AVAILABLE FOR NON-SUPERVISORY STAFF AS OF 1/12/2016. AN UPDATE WILL BE SENT TO SUPERVISORS ONCE THEY ARE ABLE TO USE THIS FEATURE. Once in MAP ALL, the default page is the Show Pins page. Pins are the producers address as shown on the Assignment Listing page. Notice the pins are color coded to coordinate with a survey. The legend on bottom left shows the survey name.

12 Assignment Listing Page: MAP ALL 12 Will be discussed later can Map is the default tab and displays all unsubmitted surveys. Select Points allows you to choose which points to display. An example of Map is shown on the left. Tapping on a pin will show the options listed on the left. Pins are color coded for surveys. A legend is displayed on the bottom left that explains the pin/survey color scheme. THIS IS ONLY AVAILABLE FOR NON-SUPERVISORY STAFF AS OF 1/12/2016. AN UPDATE WILL BE SENT TO SUPERVISORS ONCE THEY ARE ABLE TO USE THIS FEATURE.

13 Assignment Listing Page: Selecting Points 13 AS OF 1/12/2016 THIS FEATURE IS NOT YET AVAILABLE. I WILL UPDATE ALL FIELD STAFF ONCE MAPPING IS FULLY FUNCTIONAL. SKIP TO Select points gives the option of choosing which pins SLIDE 16. appear on the map.. The pins can be use to build the itinerary. Map starts from current location and ends at current location. Must Have Signal to Download Directions!!! The directions will remain even when MAP is closed. Use reset on the Select Points tab to reset your map. (Maps will also reset each time you logout.)

14 Grouping 14 Grouping is available for both the Supervisor and Enumerator Assignment Listing. Group by Survey: The default is to display POIDS grouped by survey. The surveys are sorted so that the survey with the earliest CAPI stop date is at the top. Group by POID: Supervisors can group first by POID to see and assign their overlaps. This sort will group all surveys for each respondent as well as any 85/45 s. This provides an easy way for supervisors to assign overlaps first. (The default sort on this view is that multiples show first at the beginning of the listing.)

15 Sort Thread at top Tapping the column headers add/removes column to the sort thread above Sorting Tapping the column name in the sort thread changes sort from ascending or descending 15 All columns are sortable. To change the sort order, tap on the column name. At the example to the left, you have options for NAME and ADDRESS. Tap on the correct name and appropriate address to select. Tap on the individual thread if you want to change the order (ie..ascending to descending and versa). To take out a thread, tap on the column name. To clear all sorts just simply tap the RESET thread on the top. Sort order is retained from one login to another.

16 Sorting 16 Listing Sort Options: The listing itself can be sorted and sub-sorted by any of the headers in either ascending or descending order. Here are some good sort examples: Sort by Status: Allows enumerator to see incompletes for a particular survey easily. Sort by RespCode: Shows the refusals and inaccessibles to determine follow up strategy. Sort by OpDom: Isolates all the 85/45s and 99 s. Sort by County: Will help an enumerator determine records in the same area to visit and allows a supervisor to assign an entire county easily to one enumerator, Sort by any icon: Shows records with comments, are phone only or records with appointments.

17 Comments 17 ELMO Comments and Office Notes can be viewed by selecting The comment must be closed by tapping on Close before moving into the questionnaire.

18 RESP CODE/STATUS Address 1. RESPCODE means response code. A. Lets the supervisor/enumerator know if the survey is inaccessible, refusal, etc. B. This is based on the coding on the last page of the survey. 2. STATUS gives the status of survey. A. Started means the survey has been started but is still in Edit stage. B. Saved for Review alerts the supervisor that the enumerator is finished with the questionnaire and it is ready to be reviewed. C. Date and time stamp indicates final submission and the questionnaire is complete. 3. Directions to the individual POID can be accessed by clicking on map icon. 4. wi Indicates a phone only record that should be called and not visited.

19 Entering Questionnaire 19 Address Many similarities as the old CAPI system with some new features. Tap POID to enter the questionnaire. Available POIDS will be hyperlinked. The last POID visited will be blue hyperlinked. POIDS that are not yet open for enumeration or are complete will be greyed out.

20 Questionnaire 20 Show s 85/45 s and Coordinated Surveys. Navigate between surveys by using the dropdown box. The check mark denotes which survey is in use. Returns to the assignment listing, giving access to move to another POID. Allows skipping to the end of the survey to complete the Inaccessible and refusals section. MUST HAVE COMMENT!!! The Address displays in box format. Will also display previously reported address, if an address changes.

22 Questionnaire 22 Old Address Old Phone New Address New Phone Address updates appear in the right hand column. When updating CONTACT INFORMATION, you have the ability to select mobile. Once updated, tap on UPDATE ADDRESS. Updates can be made on the address anytime during the survey. If surveys are coordinated, updates will appear on all surveys.

23 Questionnaire Never attempt to log 23 out when there are unsaved items!!! Unsaved data items also appears when making assignments on the assignment listing page. If exiting MOST when data is unsaved, the following warning below will appear. Tap OK and wait to logout when adequate signal is available and all data is sent.

24 Questionnaire 24 Page numbers allow for easier navigation through the questionnaire.

25 Questionnaire 25 Answer questions as asked and tap on click here buttons. They are used to navigate through the survey. Comment boxes are available on every page. Enter data comments here.

26 Questionnaire 26 Remember to tap on appropriate radio buttons to select answer, then, tap click here.

27 Questionnaire 27 If partners exist, the radio button will be preselected and a number should be in the box already. If it is a new partnership, select the radio button next to partners and put in the number of partners. ALWAYS SELECT NEXT WHEN GOING THOUGH THE QUESTIONNAIRE. IT WILL ROUTE TO THE NEXT PLACE TO GO IN THE QUESTIONNAIRE.

28 Questionnaire 28 Verify or make corrections on this page for partner information. To delete partners, click the radio button next to Check if no longer a partner.

29 Questionnaire 29 One method to enter data is through the keyboard. To access the keyboard, tap inside a cell or box. Navigate between cells. Releases and hides the keyboard

30 Questionnaire 30 Another method to enter data is to tap the item code to display the calculator. Enter data then press next. Or enter an expression. For example: ( )/2 press next. Use The DK button for don t knows. It will display a -1. DO NOT TYPE IN A -1 from the keyboard.

31 Questionnaire 31 By tapping next or equal, the number appears in the box. Calculator lines up to the right side of the box. Item code and description identifies the question.

32 NEW - Item Level Comments 32 Item level comments are entered through the calculator. a. Tap on the item code to display the calculator. b. Tap Add Comment. c. Type the comment and press save. d. Tap Next on the calculator to move to the next item box.

33 NEW - Item Level Comments 33 Icon displays when the item level comment has been saved. Tapping on the icon will display the comment and allow changes.

34 Concluding The Interview 34 Remember the interview is not concluded until FINISH is tapped.

35 Finishing the Interview 35 Remember that if it is not the operator responding, a respondent name must be entered. Respondent mode should be captured correctly: Paper captured by paper questionnaire and entered into CAPI later. Telephone on paper data is captured on a questionnaire via telephone Face-To-Face on ipad - live interview with a respondent using ipad Telephone on ipad data is collected via the ipad using telephone

36 SAVE SAVE FOR REVIEW FINAL 36 SUBMISSION SAVED: Allows access to the survey to edit or make changes to the data. Will show as Started on the Assignment Listing Page. SAVE FOR REVIEW: Alert s the supervisor that the survey is ready for their review, all enumerator edits and changes are complete. (Enumerators can still enter the questionnaire). FINAL SUBMISSION: The questionnaire is final and is sent to RFO/FO. Any changes have to go through the RFO/FO Staff.

37 End of the Day EVERY DAY! 37 Make sure there is no Unsaved Data. If there is unsaved data, this error will appear preventing you from logging out.

38 End of the Day EVERY DAY! 38 If everything has been transmitted and no data items are shown, then tap LOGOUT
