5 GENERAL INTERFACE AND USAGE The new MobileEstimator has been redesigned from the ground up! It s faster. It s easier to use. It supports more devices. The new MobileEstimator was written using asynchronous communication standards so you re not stuck waiting on the app to communicate with the server. Some of our previous users said that they wanted to use MobileEstimator on an Android device. Others said that they wanted it to work on their phone. We thought, Why not both? The new app works on phones and tablets both Android and ios! Additionally, we optimized the view space to maximize how much information you can see at one time. So no matter what device you re on the app takes full advantage of every pixel available. NAVIGATION MAIN NAVIGATION (BOTTOM TABSTRIP) The main navigation for this application can be found across the bottom of the screen. It is a blue bar with white text. The page that you are currently viewing is highlighted green instead of blue. Tapping on any of the icons/text in this bar will navigate to that page. 6 The secondary navigation guides you through sub-pages. A good example of this is the Phone Center, where you can view the Message page or the Appointments page. This navigation is also a bar, but can be found across the top of the screen, just below the page Title bar. It is green with white text, and your currently selected page turns white (to match the background of the content on screen). GRIDS Grids are used to display lists of information. They separate information into columns. With the release of MobileEstimator 6 we ve added the ability to sort columns as well as show and hide them. SORTING COLUMNS To sort a column, simply touch the column header. That will cause the entire grid to resort, based on the selected column s data. To sort the column in the other direction (ascending/descending), touch the column header again. 6 P age

7 SHOWING OR HIDING COLUMNS To show or hide a column, touch the down arrow to the right of any column header and a popup menu will appear. Then touch Columns and place a check mark next to any column that you want to show. To remove columns, uncheck them from the list and then touch anywhere outside of the popup menu. SEARCHING Searching is a way to filter the current list that you are looking at. To search, type into the text field in the top left of the screen (next to the magnifying glass icon). Next, tap the magnifying glass to filter your results. 7 P age

8 To be more specific with your search, you can use the dropdown menu next to the magnifying glass. By default, the dropdown is set to filter on All fields. Changing the dropdown menu will automatically refresh the search results. To clear a previous search, or clear the search field, simply tap on the button with the x icon. ACTION BUTONS On some pages there is a row of buttons across the top of the screen. These buttons generally perform some action related to the content on the page you are viewing. This is the area to look if you want to perform actions such as Saving and Refreshing. USER ACCOUNTS 8 P age

9 To best understand how MobileEstimator works it s important to understand how Arborgold works as a whole. Arborgold Cloud, simply put, is comprised of two components: a website and a database. Your web browser provides a way that you can access your company database to add, view, and modify that data. MobileEstimator is another way that you can access the same company database. TYPES OF ARBORGOLD ACCOUNTS Arborgold has two types of users, Cloud Users and Mobile Users. Cloud Users can access Arborgold through both a mobile app (such as MobileEstimator or MobileCrew) and through a web browser. Accessing Arborgold through a web browser is the most powerful way to use the system and gives the user the ability to take full advantage of Arborgold s capabilities. Mobile Users are restricted to using either MobileEstimator or MobileCrew to access Arborgold. This limits and streamlines the abilities of these users. SETTING UP AN ESTIMATOR ACCOUNT You can setup an Estimator account from a web browser; not from a mobile device. Your trainer will show you how to do that, or you can watch one of our Public/Self-help videos. LOGGING IN Logging into MobileEstimator requires you to enter the Server Path or your cloud database, and a User Login. SERVER PATH Your server path is simply the web address where your Arborgold Cloud website resides. Your server path is assigned to your company at the time your Arborgold Account is setup. Look for it in your welcome from Arborgold which is sent to you immediately after your subscription purchase. Your server path is the same as the address that you use to access Arborgold from a web browser. In past versions of MobileEstimator, you had to enter the full server path including In version 6.0 you no longer have to enter the precursor. Simply enter your subdomain (usually your business name) and your assigned Arborgold domain name. A typical server path looks like this, where companyname is the name of your company: companyname.arborgold.net NOTE: Starting in the fall of 2014 all new users will have arborgold.net as their domain name. Prior to this date Arborgold domain names could be: 9 P age

10 mobileestimator.com arborgoldcloud.com arborgoldcloud.net arborgold.net USER LOGIN This is where you will enter your Estimator type username and password. DASHBOARD The Dashboard is a place you can customize to show a summary of different information from your database. This is done through many different Widgets that can be hidden or shown individually for your user. The view status of each Widget is saved in the app, so your configuration will load each time you log in. WIDGETS JOB CLOSE RATIO The Job Close Ratio widget is a pie chart that compares the number of jobs still in Proposal status that were bid by you, to the number of jobs that were accepted by the customer. It provides you with an idea of well you bidding jobs at a glance. MY SCHEDULED JOBS This widget shows any services that were bid by you that are scheduled to be done on a selected date. By default, the date in the widget is the current date. If you would like to see a different days work, you can use the datepicker tool change the date and the list of work will refresh automatically. Clicking on any of these records will move your view to the selected job s information screen. RECENTLY COMPLETED WORK This widget shows a list of the most recently completed work, and the date it was completed on. If you only have permission to view jobs that you are a salesperson of, this list will be filtered to show only your jobs. Clicking on any of these records will move your view to the selected job s information screen. LOW INVENTORY The Low Inventory widget shows you all inventory items in your system that have on-hand amounts less than the configured Reorder Level in Cloud with the current Amount-On-Hand to the right of the items name. 10 P age

11 ACTION BUTTONS WIDGETS Tapping this button will bring up a pop-up window that allows you to select which widgets you see on your Dashboard. Widgets with their checkbox checked will be displayed. REFRESH This option reloads all data in the widgets that are visible. CUSTOMERS The Customers tab allows you to manage the list of customers in your system. With MobileEstimator, you can update specific customer information, add a new customer, review information about a jobsite, etc. Nearly all information that can be stored/viewed from Cloud can also be accessed from this application. The default list of customers (list without sorting or filtering) is the top 50 customers from your database which have recently logged activity. Once a search or filter is put in place, the list is still limited to 50 results, but will be based on the selected filter instead of Activity Log. Double tapping on any record in the list will cause the app to navigate to the Customer Info screen for the selected customer. ACTION BUTTONS NEW CUSTOMER This action allows you to add a new customer to your database. Tapping on this button will change your view to the Customer Info screen for a new customer. Default values will be loaded in from your Company preferences in cloud for fields such as Tax Level and Account Terms. This button is not in the typical place for an Action Button, it is built into the Search Bar for the Customer List grid. NESTED PAGES CUSTOMER INFO The Customer Info screen displays all saved information about a customer in your system. VIEWS 11 P age

12 The views on this screen mimic what you see while using the cloud website. Tap on any option in the Secondary Navigation bar to be moved to that screen. CUSTOMER INFO This is the default view that you are loaded into after selecting a customer from the Customer List. This view stores general account/billing/contact information for your Customer. JOBSITES The Jobsites view stores information about the location(s) that you perform work for a customer. JOB HISTORY The Job History screen is a list of jobs created for the selected customer. PHONE LOG This is where you will find a list of all Phone Messages and Appointments for the currently selected customer. ACTION BUTTONS + MESSAGE This button will create a new Phone Message for the currently selected customer. Your view will be moved to the Message Info screen for the new message. + JOB This button will create a new job for the currently selected customer. Your view will be moved to the Job Info screen for the new job. REFRESH This option reloads all saved information about the customer from the Cloud. Any unsaved changes are lost in this process. SAVE The Save button saves any changes to the customer s information that you have made. These changes reflect immediately in the database, so people using Cloud can see any updates in real time. JOBSITES 12 P age

13 The Jobsites screen is where you can store and track information about all of the locations you perform work at for a customer. You can store multiple jobsites for each customer, and all information synchronizes directly with your cloud database. VIEWS This section shares the same views as Customer Info. ACTION BUTTONS + JOBSITE This button will create a new jobsite for the currently selected customer. VIEW ROUTE This button will move you to a map showing the most optimal route to the selected jobsite. REFRESH This option reloads all saved information about the jobsite from the cloud database. Any unsaved changes are lost in this process. SAVE The Save button saves any changes to jobsite information that you have made. These changes reflect immediately in the database, so people using cloud can see any updates in real time. JOB HISTORY This screen provides a list of jobs that are assigned to the currently selected customer. Double tapping any job in the list will change view to the Job Info screen for the selected job. VIEWS This section shares the same views as Customer Info. PHONE LOG This is where you can view all Messages and Appointments for the selected customer. 13 P age

14 VIEWS This section shares the same views as Customer Info. PHONE CENTER Phone Center is used to manage your appointments to meet with your clients. You can input messages for call backs. You can schedule new appointments and even create new estimates starting from your appointment or message. All messages created using MobileEstimator will be viewable in Arborgold Cloud and any messages or appointments created using Arborgold Cloud will display here. VIEWS To toggle between viewing Messages or Appointments select the appropriate view from the Secondary Navigation at the top. The default View can be set in the Setting page. MESSAGES A list of Messages in your system, filtered by date range (found in the Settings page). APPOINTMENTS A list of Appointments in your system, filtered by date range (found in the Settings page). NESTED PAGES MESSAGE/APPOINTMENT INFO This screen displays all information for the selected Message or Appointment. ACTION BUTTONS ADD JOB This button will create a new job using the customer and jobsite for the current message/appointment. The app will automatically navigate to the Job Info screen for the newly created job. SCHEDULE 14 P age

15 This moves the view to the Appointment Scheduler page. REFRESH This option will refresh the message/appointment information from the Cloud. Any unsaved changes will be lost at the time of this refresh. SAVE Tap this button to save any changes to the current message/appointment. FIND JOBS This page allows you to filter through a list of Jobs in your database. From here, you can access the details of any Job by double clicking on any part of the row, which navigates the app to the Job Info page. There is a search bar at the top of the screen that you can use to find specific records. This list of jobs is filtered by date and Job Status. You can change the date range in the Settings page. The currently selected View will be highlighted in the Secondary Navigation at the top, and shows the currently filtered Status. The view selection is also apparent in the title of the page, which follows the format Find Jobs: Status. NESTED PAGES JOB INFO The Job Info page provides a general summary of the job, and also displays the list of Services that are attached to it. From here you can do things like change the job s name, salesperson, or add Services. If you double click on a service in the list, you will move to the Service Info page for the selected Service. VIEWS There are two views visible from the Job Info page; Job Info, which you are in, and Job Details, which holds much more information about the selected Job. JOB INFO The Job Info screen provides a general summary of the currently selected job. JOB DETAILS Here you will find advanced details about the job, such as Accepted Date and Job Notes. 15 P age

16 ACTION BUTTONS PRINT This action will generate a popup window that allows you to print the job you are viewing as a PDF document. Before the PDF is generated, you have the opportunity to select the Proposal format (from your list in cloud) that will be used. This action will generate a popup window that allows you to the job you are viewing to your customer. The Proposal will be attached as a PDF document to the . SAVE This action saves any changes to the Job Information on the screen. JOB DETAILS The Job Details screen shows the detailed information for the currently selected job. Most of this information is found in the Job Details screen of cloud as well. VIEWS This section shares the same views as Job Info. ACTION BUTTONS REFRESH This option reloads all saved information on screen from the Cloud. Any unsaved changes are lost in this process. SAVE This action saves any changes to the Job Details on the screen. 16 P age

17 SERVICE INFO This screen shows the main for the selected Service. You can find this information in cloud by clicking on the Plus symbol for a Service (if you are using the New Job Entry screen). VIEWS SERVICE INFO This screen shows the main information for the selected Service. RESOURCES This screen provides a separated list of all resources that are assigned to the selected Service. IMAGES The Images page will show you the Before and After pictures that are associated with the selected Service. ACTION BUTTONS TO JOB Selecting this option will guide you back to the Job Info page for the Job the selected Service belongs to. DELETE This action will delete the selected Service from the Job. REFRESH This option reloads all saved information on screen from the Cloud. Any unsaved changes are lost in this process. SAVE This action saves any changes to the Service information on the screen. RESOURCES 17 P age

18 This screen provides a separated list of all resources that are assigned to the selected service. Resources are categorized into the same three groups as cloud; Employees, Equipment, and Inventory. VIEWS The Resources page shares the same Views as the Service Info page. ACTION BUTTONS TO JOB Selecting this option will guide you back to the Job Info page for the Job the selected Service belongs to. REFRESH This option reloads all saved resources on screen from the Cloud. Any unsaved changes are lost in this process. IMAGES Arborgold allows you to save a Before and an After picture for each service on a job. This screen allows you to view/upload pictures for the currently selected service. By tapping on a picture, you will move to a new screen that displays only the selected image, and allows you to use standard pinch-to-zoom. VIEWS The Images page shares the same Views as the Service Info page. ACTIONS TO JOB Selecting this option will guide you back to the Job Info page for the Job the selected Service belongs to. TAKE NEW This option will allow you to take a new picture from your device, and upload it as either the Before or After picture. ADD FROM GALLERY This option will allow you to select a picture from your devices memory, and upload it as either the Before or After picture. 18 P age

19 REFRESH This option reloads all saved images on the service from the Cloud. SCHEDULER This is where you can view a calendar interface for scheduled Appointments, and in the future, scheduled Services as well. The calendar can be set to many different views ranging from a 1-Day view up to a full Month at a time by using the toolbar across the top. In the Settings, you can define a start and end to your Work Week and Work Day, so that your calendar can be set to show something like: 8am-5pm Monday-Friday, instead of the entire week. By tapping on an open time slot, you can schedule a Message using the pop-up that appears. Tapping on a scheduled Appointment will move you to the Message/Appointment Info page for the selected Appointment. VIEWS There are two view choices in the Secondary Navigation for this page. These choices distinguish between the Appointment Scheduler and the Work Scheduler. APPOINTMENTS This calendar will show you Appointments that are scheduled to Estimators/Salespersons in your database. WORK This calendar will be made available in the future. It will display Services that are scheduled to Crews in your database. ROUTE This screen will show you an overhead map, with a route overlay. The route is built from the Appointments that are scheduled for you, ordered by start time, and starting from the location that you selected in Settings. By default, the route start location is the current location of the device you are using. However, the location can be set to one of your clouds Work Scheduler Office locations. SETTINGS 19 P age

20 The Settings page is where you are able to define many default operations and filters used by the application. These options are specific to each user, so other Estimator accounts are able to configure their settings in the way that best suits their needs. Many of these settings are saved to your profile in Cloud, so your preferences will follow you if you change devices. ACTION BUTTONS HELP This will open our online PDF help document for MobileEstimator 6. (This document) RESET CACHE Resetting the app cache purges any information that has been pulled from your Aborgold Server and temporarily stored on the device. Doing this ensures that the app will pull new information the next time you access any screen in the app. RESET APP In addition to resetting the cache, this also resets any app preferences you have saved to this device that are not saved to the cloud. Examples of such information are the Server Path and Username automatically remembering the last login used, and all information found in the App Preferences section of the Settings page. LOG OUT Selecting this option will log your user out of the app, and return you to the Server Path entry page. SECTIONS SERVER/ACCOUNT This section shows the authentication information you used to log in. This information is not editable. ROUTE START This is the physical start location for any routing features used by the app. This defaults to your devices GPS location, but can be set to a location saved in cloud. You can add cloud locations by opening your Work Scheduler, selecting Route Work Order from the top right, and then clicking Add Location in the popup dialog window. PERMISSIONS This section displays the permissions assigned to your Employee in cloud. These are not modifiable from the app. Below is the list of permissions used by the app, which can be found under the Employee preferences in cloud. 20 P age

21 ARBORGOLD ADMINISTRATOR Provides unrestricted access to everything that MobileEstimator 6 can do. PHONE MESSAGES: VIEW AND MODIFY YOUR OWN ONLY Restricts your users Phone Message list to see only messages you are assigned To. PHONE MESSAGES: VIEW ONLY Prevents your users ability to modify Message information for any Message/Appointment. APPOINTMENTS: VIEW AND MODIFY OWN CALENDARY ONLY Restricts viewing/modification of appointment times to only the appointments that are assigned To you. CUSTOMERS: VIEW YOUR OWN CUSTOMERS ONLY Restricts the Customer List results to include only customers to which you are assigned as the Salesperson. CUSTOMERS: VIEW ONLY Prevents your user from being able to save any changes to Customer information. Only viewing is allowed. JOBS: SCHEDULE/UNSCHEDULE Allows your user to schedule and un-schedule Services in the system. APP PREFERENCES These preferences are saved locally to your device. Logging out and back in on the same device will maintain these settings, but using a different device will not. In this section you can select your default date range filters for the Message, Appointment, and Job grids. The date ranges that you can choose from are defined as: Label Surrounding Week Upcoming Week Last Week + Next 2 Weeks Current Month Current Year Function = (3 Days in the Past) + Today + (3 Days in the Future) = Today + (7 Days in the Future) = (7 Days in the Past) + Today + (14 Days in the Future) = Current Calendar Month = Current Calendar Year 21 P age

22 All = All Messages in System You can also set the default Secondary Navigation view that you land on when navigating to the Phone Center and Find Jobs pages. The last preference in this section is for the app navigation style. This controls the display for the Main and Secondary navigation bars. If set to Tablet, icons with text captions will be used. If set to Phone, only icons will be used. This is to save space on the screen, but does make the app less intuitive. The default option is Automatic, which will attempt to use the best fit option based on your devices width. If set to automatic, you may notice the app switch styles between portrait and landscape orientation. CLOUD PREFERENCES These settings are saved to cloud under your Employee profile. Changing options in this section will carry over to any other devices you log into, as well as the cloud. If your account type is Office/Estimator, you have the potential to log in and modify your own settings/preferences from cloud. SCHEDULER CONFIGURATION In this section you can define the start and end to your Work Week. Work Week cannot be set to days that are not consecutive (such as Monday/Wednesday/Friday). You can also define the start and end to your Work Day. These options are seen in the Scheduler when the view is set to Work Week (at top) and Show Business Hours (at bottom) is selected. The final configuration option for the Scheduler is the Estimator filter. Tapping the button will open a popup window that allows you to select which Estimators Appointments are visible. This option also controls which Messages show up in the scheduling popup window; the assigned Estimator must be active in the filter in order for their Messages to show up in the dropdown list. TROUBLESHOOTING COMMON ISSUES This app is brand new, so please let us know what trouble you re having. Use the Support Contact information to help us help you. WHAT S COMING? CAD MAP TOOL The CAD map (aka: Jobsite Drawing tool) is not included in this version of MobileEstimator. We plan to develop a tool for you to use in the future (likely in summer of 2015).
