4 Background Some Novartis corporate websites publish a listing of Novartis products A standardized presentation of this product information is available on Drupal via a Product Listing module which can be integrated onto any corporate website Product Information is highly regulated and the display of product information via your corporate website may be prohibited in your country. Please ensure that you have secured all required approvals prior to publishing product information on your corporate website. 4

5 Business 5 Use Only How the Product Listing module works step-by-step

6 Requesting the Product Listing Module on your Drupal website The Product Listing module is not automatically configured on your Drupal website. You must make a special request to have it enabled. To request the Product Listing for the first time, make a request on the NBS IT Portal Service Now: Go to In the search field ("How can we help?"), type in "Drupal" Select the service EWS Internet Drupal Acquia - Communications Complete the form with a description of your issue Example: Request to Enable Product Listing V2 on <your website name> 6

7 Organization of Product Data The Product Listing module uses the following attributes: Product groupings (for sorting of products) Active Ingredients Disease Area Category Division Taxonomy (items database) Active Ingredients Division 7

8 Populate the Product Listing using Drupal Use the Drupal CMS to: 1. Create taxonomy: Active Ingredient Division 2. Manually create a product and indicate: Product Name Disease Area Product Category example: Dermatology 3. Add a new product document; update an existing product document Example: Fact Sheet or Prescribing Info (.pdf) 4. Add a product logo 5. Link to a product s website (external URL) 6. Link to an internal page on your corporate website (internal URL) 8

9 Step 1. Add an active ingredient to the site taxonomy 1. Click on: Structure > Taxonomy > Ingredients > Add term 2. Fill out the form and press the Save button 9

10 Step 2. Add a Division to the site taxonomy 2. Enter Name of Division 1. Click on: Structure > Taxonomy > Division > Add term 3. Fill out the form and press the Save button 10

11 Step 3. Manually create a product and link to a Taxonomy (e.g. Active Ingredient) 2a. Enter the product name specific to your country 2b. Enter the global product name (EN) if different from the local name 3. Link to the Product to the Active Ingredient(s) 1. Click on: Content > Add content > Product 4. Complete the form and press Save 11

12 Step 4. Add a supporting document to the product (1 /3) Enter Title Public view 12

13 Step 5. Add / update a product logo 1. Under «Product Logo» click «Browse» 2. Choose a file from your computer to and upload it 3. Or select a an image from the library (previously uploaded) 4. Click Save 5. Select Remove or Edit in order to delete the logo, or replace it Standard dimensions for Product Logo: 100px by 58px 13

14 Step 6. Add a link to an external website 1. Enter a title for the external link 2. Enter the associated URL to access the externally hosted material Public view 14

15 Step 7. Add a link to an internal page on your corporate site 1. Under Product Information Section, enter a title for the external link 2. Enter the associated URL (NODE ID) to the internal material/page. Note: In Editing mode of a page, the Node ID can be obtained from the URL. Public view 15

16 Product Listing Delivery example Example: Sandoz Russia would like to host information about has approximately 200 products. This includes the product leaflet, dosage information and special instructions. The strategy: 1. Business Owner will compile all product information as required from the Product Listing template 2. The content will be implemented using Product Listing v2.0 as it most closely matches the requirement 1. Via their in-house web content manager 2. Or using their supporting agency 3. The team expects to make updates to approximately 10 products each month via Drupal 16

17 Populate the Product Listing via an external feed The Product Listing module can also be configured to be populated by an external feed of information. Integrating the feed into the Product Listing requires support from the Beluga Operations team. For questions, contact: 17

18 Keeping product data up to date Website owners are responsible for keeping their Product Listings up to date It is recommended to review product information at least every 6 months to ensure accuracy All updates to the Product Listing can be completed by your webmaster or content manager using the Drupal CMS In the case of questions, please contact the Beluga Operations team at beluga.operations@novartis.com 18

20 Upgrading your Product Listing Module from V1 to V2 If you already use the original version of the Product Listing, it is recommended that you update to V2 for additional functionality Upgrading from V1 to V2 does not require re-publishing product data. The data from V1 will automatically appear in the new version To upgrade your Product Listing from V1 to V2, make a request on the NBS IT Portal Service Now: Go to In the search field ("How can we help?"), type in "Drupal" Select the service EWS Internet Drupal Acquia - Communications Complete the form with a description of your issue Example: Request to Upgrade Product Listing to V2 on <your website name> 20

22 Configuration of the Product Listing display As part of the Product Listing module, you have the possibility to adapt the display of product information according to your needs Example 1: sorting product information by Active Ingredient, vs. sorting product information by Disease Area Example 2: choosing to display the active ingredient info or not Example 3: changing the default column titles to something that you specify This is controlled in the Configuration > Product Listing settings in Drupal
