2 Welcome to v2.14 of RM Unify RM Unify v2.14 is here. For the last few weeks we ve been working to finish off our MIS data Sync feature in the RM Unify Management Console for schools in England and Wales a large piece of work. Among other benefits, this great feature will include some new tools which allow you to setup accounts for parents. Our developments are being trialled by a number of schools currently, and we expect to release MIS data Sync features in England and Wales at the end of November (schools using SEEMiS in Scotland already have a feed of MIS data into RM Unify). At the end of November, schools in England and Wales will be able to sync data between RM Unify and their MIS (a select number of MIS systems are supported), providing a richer data feed into a number of RM Unify apps, including syncing teaching groups and parent information. In the meantime, we re still releasing a brand new feature this month. No rest for the wicked. We re introducing the ability for Premium and Basic subscription customers in England and Wales to upload their own branding onto RM Unify, making the Launch Pad appear like your own bespoke environment. Something similar is expected to follow in Scotland. This was a feature that many schools were asking for, in a request to make RM Unify appear more like their own portal. Release Headlines 1. Introduction of Establishment Branding Page 1 to 6 The ability for RM Unify Administrator users to brand the RM Unify Launch Pad with their school logo and background image. Introduction of Establishment Branding If you are an RM Unify Administrator at an Establishment in England and Wales, you may now make use of a new Branding feature in the RM Unify Management Console. A Branding link has been added to the Dashboard. Select Branding from the options on the left. Non-Administrator users will not be able to make Branding changes. Fig 1.0: Branding has been added to the Management Console Dashboard There are two options on the Branding Page: 1. Set the Launch Pad background image for users in my establishment 2. Set my establishment s logo (displayed in the footer for users in my establishment) You may set both, or one of these. You may also make changes at any time. 4 Setting a Launch Pad background When choosing an image to set as a Launch Pad background, please be aware of the file size and type, and image dimension guidelines outlined. We recommend using an image approximately 1024 x 768px to provide good scaling on a variety of small screen sizes. When a user accesses the RM Unify Launch Pad on a screen size of less than 768px, the chosen image will not be displayed. Launch Pad backgrounds are also not supported on Internet Explorer v8. Click Browse to find a suitable image from your computer. Select the layout option you prefer, then click Save If you wish to delete the selected image, you can do so by clicking the red trash can icon. 5 Setting an Establishment logo When choosing an Establishment logo, be aware of the maximum file size. Image dimensions are not enforced here, but it is strongly recommended that you upload an image which is 100 x 100px in size. This will result in an image which displays best. Not doing so will result in squashed or stretched logos. Fig 1.8: Select a logo to upload Once uploaded, your Establishment logo will appear in the bottom left of the footer on all RM Unify screens (Launch Pad, App Library and Management Console).
