1 Welcome to the Westchester City Council demonstration system If you are new to Scoreboard, then please use the step-by-step instructions below to get the most out of the demonstration system. Please contact for more information or to arrange a presentation/demonstration of this system Navigation: To navigate around the system use the main navigation drop-down menu: Some of the menu items have sub-menus, for example Scorecards has a sub-menu: Notice to the right of the sub-menu in Scorecards is a Date Menu. This will allow you to look at various date oriented views of your scorecards, e.g. Monthly, Quarterly and UK Fiscal Year:

2 Bookmarks After logon you will be presented with the Bookmarks page. From here you can look at pages that of are of particular interest. Several bookmarks have already been set up. Click on each in turn to see the types of objects used in Scoreboard: Organisations In the main menu drop-down click on Scorecards, to the left you will see an Organisation structure and to the right a Scorecard. Click on Performance Measure and you should see something like this: The blue dot in the Organisation structure indicates there is content associated with that object. A grey dot indicates there is no content associated with the object. If you have lost your way: If you have lost your way (it happens!) and need to get back to the Organisation structure, the chances are you are looking at a scorecard or dashboard or another element. Simply click on the blue rectangular button at the top left of the pale yellow panel. In the example above the blue button has a blue dot and the words Performance Measures in it. This will reveal the Organisation tree in the pale blue panel to the left. From here you can select an area from the main drop-down menu and an Organisation node (blue dot) that contains content.

3 Scorecards From the main menu drop-down select Scorecards. From the organisation structure click on the blue dot Performance Measures and then in the pale yellow panel click on the Scorecard Performance Measures, you will see a page like this: This is the standard format page for any Scorecard, Perspective, Objective and Metric. Next, open the tree structure on the left hand side (+) to see all of the elements of the scorecard and click on any object, in the case below we have clicked on the metric Household Waste Recycled (%):

4 Dashboards Once a number of scorecards have been completed, dashboards can be created to present the data in informative ways. Click on the main menu drop-down and select Dashboards. From the organisation structure select Performance Measures, in the right hand pale yellow pane select Performance Overview, you will see a key messages dashboard like this: Dashboard can be as simple or as complex as you like, any object can be drilled-down to display the detailed information contained within the system or linked to outside the system. Click though the other samples to see different examples. A more typical dashboard might look like this:

5 Briefing Books Briefing books provide the means to collect different objects into a book that can be displayed on-line as a presentation or exported to PowerPoint, pdf, Word or Excel. A single page can be exported or an entire book. Click on the main menu drop-down and select Briefing Books. Select Winchester City Council from the Organisation structure and you will see a page like this: Notice there is only one blue dot indicating there are no Briefing Books in the other areas. This Briefing Book contains various objects including Dashboards, Metrics, Reports and a Gantt chart. Click through each to look at them. In the example below we have selected the Red KPI Report. You will notice in the top left a button called Send Page To has appeared, click on this button to export the briefing book to your desired format: Next Steps: There are many more features in the system too numerous to mention in this short overview.
