January, 2011 Enhancements This update to Schwab RT Web 4.0 provides the following enhancements: Distribution Automation Outsourcing (DAO) Phase 1 Partial Release Notice: Schwab s DAO project is currently underway and scheduled for completion at a future date. For this release, we re making a number of Recordkeeping and SchARP options available to you so that you can start configuring your system in preparation for the full release when it becomes available. Overview The Schwab Distribution Administration Outsourcing (DAO) service allows independent recordkeepers to leverage Schwab's resources to provide terminated participants with required tax notification and other educational materials on their distribution options, along with access to a dedicated call center to help answer questions and support opening and funding an IRA. Integration with SchwabRT allows recordkeepers to notify Schwab of eligible terminated participants and provide an extract of their participant data. On receipt of the participant data, Schwab mails education and special tax notification to these individuals, and prepares its call center staff with information on the plans enrolled in the service and the participants being served. Additionally, the recordkeeping system integration provides participants access to online educational resources and, through a partnership with Wealth Management Systems Inc. (WMSI), a connection to a network of IRA provider sites to facilitate opening and funding an IRA. Benefits of DAO Schwab s DAO service offers the following advantages to TPAs, Plan Sponsors, and Participants: TPAs and Plan Sponsors Improved level of participant services. Reduced expenses by outsourcing educational materials mailing and call center support functions. Opportunity to receive marketing referral payments on rollovers directed to a network of IRA providers. Participants Education and guidance on distribution options. High standard of servicing. Simplified IRA rollover process including account open and distribution. January 2011 Schwab Retirement Technologies Page 4 of 155

DAO Program Overview The following high-level illustration identifies the various actors and components of the DAO service and shows the flow of data and other activities. Wealth Management Systems Inc. (WMSI) Schwab s DAO initiative partners with Wealth Management Systems Inc. to provide a solution for helping terminated participants select a provider to rollover their account balances. Wealth Management s Rollover Solutions Network (RSN) connects recordkeeping platforms with the account opening systems of IRA providers, allowing participants to open IRA accounts and effect distributions at the plan level in a single, real-time transaction greatly simplifying the rollover process. For more information, visit them on the Web at Note: Additional information on Schwab s DAO service, including pricing and fees, will be provided in a future release. 6 Schwab RT s Role As one component of the larger Schwab initiative, Schwab Retirement Technologies is making two primary contributions to the DAO project: Creating the DAO Extract file and sending it securely to DAO for plans that have signed up for the DAO program. Providing a single sign-on link from the participant My Money site to DAO so that participants can research and select a provider for their rollover needs. Schwab RT s Recordkeeping system is enhanced to include system and plan-level settings for the DAO project. There is also a new participant counter added to the system. The SchARP system includes a new business activity that you can schedule to create the DAO Extract file. Once the DAO Extract file is generated, another new business activity is launched to encrypt the data file and send the file securely to DAO. Interested in DAO? For more information on implementing the DAO service at your site, please contact your Schwab Client Service Manager. January 2011 Schwab Retirement Technologies Page 6 of 155

System-Level Settings At the system level, new fields are added to the Distribution Parameters window in RK SQL System Maintenance/C282. These settings determine the number of times that a participant with a zero balance is included on the extract file and the vested balance ceiling threshold. Field Definitions New DAO fields on the Distribution Parameters window are described below: Number of Times to Include Participant with Zero Balance on DAO Extract Vested Balance Ceiling Threshold Determines how many times a participant with a zero balance is included on extract file. Value must be 1 or greater. This amount is compared with the vested balance to determine if the participant is extracted on the file. Allows you to exclude participants with higher vested balances from the extract. A value of $0.00 indicates that there is no ceiling. Any value greater than $0.00 is compared to the vested balance. There is no default for this field. January 2011 Schwab Retirement Technologies Page 7 of 155

Plan-Level Settings Distributions The Distributions window in Plan Maintenance/C001 includes new fields, shown below, that determine whether or not the plan is included in the DAO Extract and which participants will see the DAO link on the My Money Web site. Field Definitions New DAO fields on the Distributions window are described below: Participating in DAO Program Show DAO link for Non- Terminated Participants Select this option to include terminated participant data for this plan in the DAO extract and display the DAO web link to all terminated participants. If not selected, no plan data is included in the extract and no DAO link appears on the participant Web site. Defaults to No. Select this option to display the DAO link to all participants on the My Money Web. If the Participating in DAO Program option is selected and this option in not selected, only terminated participants will see the DAO link on the Web. Defaults to No. Note: DAO plan settings are available for viewing in Plan Inquiry/C070 and on the Plan Digest/CP07. January 2011 Schwab Retirement Technologies Page 8 of 155

Plan-Level Settings Data Validation After selecting a rollover provider, terminated participants will be contacted and receive a packet of information detailing their options. To ensure that all participant contact information is valid, recordkeepers can run Data Validation test #13, which has been renamed from Invalid or Incomplete Addresses to Incomplete Contact Information. This test reports any missing contact information so that it can be corrected prior to sending data on the DAO Extract file. The plan level Data Validation Test 13, shown below, is also renamed at the system level. January 2011 Schwab Retirement Technologies Page 9 of 155

Participant Inquiry Settings The Activity Controls window in Plan Inquiry/C071 includes a new field called DAO Zero Vested Balance Extract Count, shown below. The counter applies only to terminated participants with a zero vested balance. The counter is incremented each time the participant is extracted on the DAO file. The DAO Extract Counter is read only and cannot be edited. January 2011 Schwab Retirement Technologies Page 10 of 155

Activity Tracking Settings Recordkeepers can track changes in DAO activity using Activity Tracking/C076. The new DAO fields are available in the Field Code selection list, shown below. January 2011 Schwab Retirement Technologies Page 11 of 155

SchARP Workflow With this release, SchARP provides two new DAO business activities that you can use to create and schedule a workflow that generates the DAO Extract file, encrypts the file, and sends it securely to DAO. SchARP Business Activity Purpose Creates the DAO Extract file, based on Plan-level settings. Encrypts the DAO Extract file and sends the file securely via FTP to DAO. The DAO Extract business activity has a single workflow parameter for Print Detail, which is required in order to include participant data on the DAO Extract Report. There are no workflow parameters for the Secure File Transfer business activity. File Creation Requirements The DAO Extract file is created based on the following criteria: 1. The plan option Participating in DAO Program is set to YES. 2. The participant is terminated, with both a termination date and termination status. Rehired participants are not included on the extract. Termination statuses are defined in RK SQL System Maintenance/C The participant has a vested balance and the balance is less than or equal to the Ceiling Threshold amount. Participants with a vested balance below the ceiling are included each time the extract file is created. Note: If a participant has a vested balance near the Ceiling Threshold amount, that participant may be included or excluded on the file based on market change. 4. The participant has a zero balance and the participant's DAO Zero Vested Balance Extract Count is less than the value of the Number of Times to Extract Participant with Zero Balance setting. This allows participants with a zero balance to be included on the extract file at least once. 5. The SchARP DAO Extract workflow must be created and scheduled to run. The DAO Extract File is linked to business activity output in the SchARP Workflow Monitor. The naming convention for the file: SRT{TPAID}YYYYMMDDHHMMSS.ASC. If there are no participants to be extracted, the extract file is not created. January 2011 Schwab Retirement Technologies Page 12 of 155

DAO Extract Report SchARP generates the following report along with the DAO extract file. Note: To include Participant data on the report, the Print Detail parameter must be selected when scheduling the DAO Extract business activity. (Page 2) (Page 3) January 2011 Schwab Retirement Technologies Page 13 of 155

December, 2010 Enhancements This update to Schwab RT Web 4.0 provides the following enhancements: Morningstar Advice Enhanced for Two Way Communication For clients using Morningstar Advice services, Schwab RT is now providing the ability for participants to request a realignment and/or investment election change directly from the Morningstar site. Transactions initiated on the Morningstar site are communicated back to the Schwab RT system via a new API call in SDDA that results in the creation of PSR records that participants can view and/or cancel on the My Money Web site. A subset of plan and participant data will be passed between Schwab RT and Morningstar. Plan data is sent in batch mode; participant data is sent in real time. Implementation of the Morningstar Advice feature requires a contract agreement with Morningstar and coordination assistance from Schwab RT. Please contact Schwab RT Client Services at for more information. Morningstar contact information: Sebastian J. Mitchell, Sales Director Morningstar Associates, LLC 22 W. Washington Street, Chicago, Illinois voice mobile fax sebastian.mitchell@morningstar.com For more information on Morningstar, see the Morningstar Advice User Guide, available from the Resource Center at SchwabRT.com. 17 Admin Settings Morningstar functionality is enabled for the plan in Schwab RT Admin (Plan Options>Planning and Advice Options), as shown below. With the exception of the name change from ClearFuture to Retirement Manager, these options have not changed with this release. The renamed system-level options appear below: System-level Morningstar settings (Timeout and Company ID) are defined via the Web Options>Service Provider Options. These options will be renamed to Retirement Manager in a future release. Recordkeeping Settings The Morningstar interface requires these additional settings in Schwab RT Recordkeeping: In Plan Maintenance (C001), Other Plan Features, Morningstar Advice tab, define the required fields. (This window was modified with the October, 2010 release.) Note: When a plan is to be closed to Morningstar access, the Morningstar Status should be changed to Pending Closed. The plan batch extract will send it one time to Morningstar and then set the status to Closed. No Closed plans are extracted. In Morningstar Batch Export (C192), specify the required parameters. (This window was modified with the October, 2010 release.) January 2011 Schwab Retirement Technologies Page 17 of 155

Enhanced Equity Wash Violation Messaging This release delivers enhanced messaging for Equity Wash violations resulting from transfers requested over the My Money participant Web. Equity Wash violations only apply to transfers, not to realignments. When a participant requests a transfer on the Transfer To page of the Web, a validation error message appears if the plan s Equity Wash rules are violated. The message is triggered by the first source encountered and does not reappear for subsequent sources. A sample Equity Wash violation message appears below: The enhanced message includes a More link that the participant can click to view an explanation of Equity Wash rules, as shown below: January 2011 Schwab Retirement Technologies Page 18 of 155

Customizing the Equity Wash Message To customize the content of the Equity Wash message, go to the Transfer To page in Content Manager and make the necessary changes to the Equity Wash Message Disclosure field, shown below. January 2011 Schwab Retirement Technologies Page 19 of 155

October, 2010 Enhancements This update to Schwab RT Web 4.0 provides the following enhancements: Realignment and Investment Election Wizard You can use this optional enhancement to provide users of Schwab RT Web with a wizard that integrates the process of aligning the account balance and selecting future investment elections. Instead of handling realignments and investment elections as separate, unrelated transactions, the wizard automatically asks users if they want to apply their realignment choices to their investment elections, and vice versa. The user can accept the offer to apply the pre-filled amounts to the additional transaction or decline the additional transaction. If the user chooses to perform both investment elections and realignment, the confirmation page will document both transactions. Realignments and Investment Elections will continue to use separate menu options. The option to use the wizard is controlled by system level Admin option, which is disabled by default. January 2011 Schwab Retirement Technologies Page 20 of 155

Requirements The following conditions must be met in order to use the Realignment and Investment Election Wizard: The Schwab RT Admin setting Enable Realignment and Investment Election Wizard must be selected. Sources must be consolidated or only a single source must be attached to the plan. Funds selected for investment election must match the funds available for realignment. Account balance must be greater than zero for the realignment to display. Realignment and investment elections must not be blocked or have pending activity. If a redemption fee is attached to any fund, that information will be shown along with realignment information. Excluded Funds The following types of funds are not available for realignment: Competing Funds Loan Funds PCRA Stock/Stock Liquidity Excessive Trading Blocks. January 2011 Schwab Retirement Technologies Page 21 of 155

Enabling the Option To enable the wizard, go to System Options in Schwab RT Admin and select Enable Realignment and Investment Election Wizard option, as shown below. The setting is turned off by default. January 2011 Schwab Retirement Technologies Page 22 of 155

Investment Election Flow When the Realignment and Investment Election Wizard option is enabled, and the user selects the Investment Elections option from the Web menu, the following sequence of activities is presented. Select Investment Elections On the first page, the current elections are shown, along with fields where the participant can enter new elections. Users can enter election values directly in the New % field, replacing the drop down selection list used previously. Election percentages can contain up to two decimal places, depending on plan settings. For details on the new option to use expanded decimal places for investment elections, see Fractional Investment Elections Option in the October Product Feature Update. After selecting investment elections, the participant clicks Submit Investment Elections at the bottom of the page and proceeds to the next page. January 2011 Schwab Retirement Technologies Page 23 of 155

Realign Account Balance? At the top of the next page, the following prompt appears: Would you like to realign your existing account balance as well? The change you have just made affects how your future contribution deposits are invested to your account. If you wish to realign your current account balance in the same manner, select Yes, realign as well. For each investment, a table shows the current balance, current alignment percentage, and new realignment percentage based on the selected investment elections. Redemption fee messaging and acknowledgement are also displayed. If the participant clicks the Yes, Realign as well button at the bottom of the page, both realignment and investment election PSR records will be created and displayed with confirmation numbers on the confirmation page. If the participant clicks the No, Change investment election only button, only the investment elections PSR record will be created and displayed with a confirmation number on the confirmation page. If the Cancel button is clicked, the participant is re-directed to the Investment Elections page. January 2011 Schwab Retirement Technologies Page 24 of 155

Confirmation The final page in the process presents confirmations for the selected transaction(s). In this example, confirmations for both investment elections and realignment are shown. If the participant declined the offer to realign the account, only the Investment Election confirmation appears. January 2011 Schwab Retirement Technologies Page 25 of 155

Realignment Flow When the Realignment and Investment Election Wizard option is enabled, and the user selects the Realign Account Balance option from the Web menu, the following sequence of activities is presented. Select Realignment On the first page, the current account balance and current realignment percentages are shown, along with fields where the participant can enter new realignment percentages. Users can enter values directly in the New % field, replacing the drop down selection list used previously. After selecting realignment percentages, the participant clicks Submit Realignment at the bottom of the page and proceeds to the next page. January 2011 Schwab Retirement Technologies Page 26 of 155

Redemption fee messaging and acknowledgement appears if the participant clicks the corresponding link. Update Investment Elections? At the top of the next page, the following prompt appears: Would you like to update your investment elections as well? The change you have just made affects your current account balance. If you wish to update how your future contribution deposits are invested in the same manner, select Yes, change investment elections as well. For each investment, a table shows the current investment percentage and new investment percentage based on the selected realignment. If the participant clicks the Yes, change investment elections as well button at the bottom of the page, both realignment and investment elections PSR records will be created and displayed with confirmation numbers on the confirmation page. If the participant clicks the No, realign only button, only the realignment PSR record will be created and displayed with the confirmation number on the confirmation page. If the Cancel button is clicked, the participant is re-directed to the Realignment page. January 2011 Schwab Retirement Technologies Page 27 of 155

Confirmation The final page presents confirmations for the selected transactions. In this example, confirmations for both investment elections and realignment are shown. If the participant declined the offer to update investment elections, only the Realignment confirmation appears. January 2011 Schwab Retirement Technologies Page 28 of 155

Alphanumeric Password Option This release includes a new feature that many clients have requested: the option to use alphanumeric passwords, instead of numeric PINs, to access their accounts on the Web. The new alphanumeric password is for the Web only; the PIN is still required for the Voice system. Please be aware that this feature is not optional and will be automatically implemented when your site is upgraded to the new release. Participants will immediately be able to create alphanumeric passwords using the Change PIN and Reset PIN options on the Web. At upgrade, the participant's current PIN will be populated in the participant's new Password field, so initially both fields will be the same. When creating new PINs for a plan, the automated PIN generator will work the same as before, but will now put the new PIN in both the PIN and the Password fields. Alphanumeric Web passwords can contain a maximum of 20 letters and/or numbers. Apostrophes ( ), quotation marks ( ), and ampersands (&) cannot be used in passwords. The minimum PIN length allowed by the plan also applies to the password. Users of the Voice system will continue to use numeric PINs. If a participant who uses both the Voice and Web systems changes his PIN to a password for the Web, that user must continue to use the PIN to access the Voice system while using the alphanumeric password to access the Web. Since most participants use either the Web or Voice, not both, this should be a relatively rare occurrence. However, we recommend that you inform your participants of this scenario in advance, and/or that you add custom content to the Change PIN and Reset PIN Web pages to let users know that access to the Voice system still requires a PIN. As part of the new alphanumeric password feature, an enhanced encryption algorithm has been applied to both the password and the PIN to provide greater security. If you are currently using Crystal to decrypt PINs, you will need to rewrite this report to accommodate the new encryption method. Other system components that may be impacted by the new feature include related stored procedures, customized API calls, and SDDA queries. For more information on these changes and their potential impact, please contact Schwab RT Client Services at January 2011 Schwab Retirement Technologies Page 29 of 155

PIN/Password Maintenance/C558 PIN Maintenance is modified as follows in support of the new alphanumeric password option: The PIN Maintenance application name is changed to PIN/Password Maintenance. The Maintain PINs window name is changed to Maintain PINs/Passwords. A new Password field is added to the Maintain PINs/Passwords window. Notes: At upgrade, the participant's current PIN will be populated in the participant's new Password field, so initially both fields will be the same. When creating new PIN's for a plan, the automated PIN generator will work the same as before, but will now put the new PIN in both the PIN and the Password fields. When generating PINs manually, at least one of the PIN/Password fields must be present. January 2011 Schwab Retirement Technologies Page 30 of 155

Participant Inquiry/C071 A new Web Password field is also added to the Identification window in Participant Inquiry. Note: The VRS PIN field is renamed to Voice PIN. Participant Inquiry/C004 The following new columns are added to the participant import file to allow you to load the participant VRS PIN and new alphanumeric Web Password: VRS PIN WEB Password If the PIN is imported and the participant has no Web Password, the Password will be defaulted to the PIN. January 2011 Schwab Retirement Technologies Page 31 of 155

Report Security Improvements Please note that in an effort to improve the security for the participant PIN and Password, the PIN has been removed from the following reports. Generic Confirm Crystal Report (GenericConfirmScharp.rpt) If you have a custom version you will need to make modifications after the October Release is deployed. PSR detail Crystal Report (PSR Detail ReportScharp.rpt) If you have a custom version you will need to make modifications after the October Release is deployed. VRU/OPI Update Report (C552 and SchARP Process Participant Request) OPI Detail Report (C258) ADT Synoptic PIN Letters If you currently print PIN letters with the actual PIN on the letter, you will need to use a new Crystal report (Password_LTRDaterange.rpt) that can only be executed in RK SQL Report Generator/CP50: Please contact client services with any questions or if you need any assistance. January 2011 Schwab Retirement Technologies Page 32 of 155

Change PIN and Reset PIN Options on Schwab RT Web Participants can change their passwords using the Change PIN and Reset PIN (via Forgot PIN link) options on the Web. Except for the PIN fields, which now accept alphanumeric passwords up to 20 characters in length, the appearance of these pages has not changed. The minimum PIN length allowed by the plan also applies to the password. We recommend that you add custom content to the following pages to let users know that access to the Voice system still requires a PIN: Change PIN Reset PIN Online Enrollment/My Information. January 2011 Schwab Retirement Technologies Page 33 of 155

Gadget Enhancements Schwab RT Web gadgets are modified with the following enhancements: Welcome Gadget A new parameter allows you to show (displaysynoptic=true) or hide (displaysynoptic=false) the participant name and plan name. The existing Welcome gadget in your Gadget Editor is read only and cannot be changed; therefore, when your system is upgraded to the October release, you ll need to make a copy of the new Welcome gadget in order to use the new parameter. Address Variable A new variable for address (${PART. }) is available for use in any gadget. Cumulative Contributions Gadget A new Content Manager page named Gadget allows you to define custom content for the Cumulative Contributions gadget. The new Gadget page appears below:. January 2011 Schwab Retirement Technologies Page 34 of 155

Option to Import Secret Q&A through Participant Maintenance This enhancement allows to you import the participant s Secret Question &Answer for My Money Web through the Participant Maintenance/Import Participants option. The Secret Q&A option is used to verify the user s identity when the Forgot PIN option is selected on the Web Login page. The following columns are added to the import file: Secret Question Secret Answer These fields are not maintainable in Participant Maintenance or viewable through Participant Inquiry. If the Secret Question or Secret Answer are imported, they are both required. To view a sample import file header and specifications, do the following: 1. Go to the SchwabRT.com and log on to the Resource Center. 2. On the Resource Center home page, select Recordkeeping from the sidebar menu. 3. Under Conversion Tools, click the following link: Census File Header / Specifications. Note: The participant import file also includes the following new columns that allow you to load the participant VRS PIN and new alphanumeric Web Password: VRS PIN WEB Password If the PIN is imported and the participant has no Web Password, the Password will be defaulted to the PIN. For more information, see Alphanumeric Password Option in the October Product Feature Update. January 2011 Schwab Retirement Technologies Page 35 of 155

July, 2010 Enhancements This update to Schwab RT Web 4.0 provides the following enhancements: Online Enrollment (OLE) Wizard The new Schwab RT Web Online Enrollment (OLE) wizard provides enhanced navigation to guide participants through the enrollment process. The wizard is designed to seamlessly capture all information needed to establish the account, from personal information and logon credentials to investment choices (default, pre-defined, or selfdefined), realignments, deferrals, beneficiary designations, and statement delivery preferences At the beginning of the process, the Start page displays a list of enrollments steps, tailored to the plan, with customizable page instructions to help participants complete the task. Each page of the wizard displays a progress bar that changes color when the participant reaches that step. Each page also displays the client-branded header with Quick Links at the top right. As each step is completed and saved, the system places a check in corresponding box on the Start page. When all steps are complete, the participant is presented with a printable summary page that shows all his investment choices, with an option to make changes before submitting the final enrollment. These navigation elements help keep the participants oriented and provide a sense of continuity and accomplishment. For screen samples and default page content, as well as complete configuration details, refer to the Schwab RT Web 4.0 Online Enrollment (OLE) User Guide, available from the Resource Center on schwabrt.com. January 2011 Schwab Retirement Technologies Page 38 of 155

Participants enrolled in the automatic enrollment program (ACA) will initially be given the option to keep their default options, select their own enrollment options, or opt out of contributing to the retirement plan. If the participant chooses to keep the default options, the My Investments and My Contributions steps are skipped and the participant proceeds to the other steps (My Information, My Beneficiaries, and My edelivery). Refer to ACA User Guide for configuration details on ACA and QDIA. January 2011 Schwab Retirement Technologies Page 39 of 155

What s New with Online Enrollment New enrollment wizard provides enhanced navigation to guide participants through all steps in enrollment process. Task list on enrollment home page provides links to each task and check boxes to indicate when a task is complete. Color-coded Progress Bar at the top of each page. Enrollment Quick Links bar at top of each page: Home, Investment Performance (optional by plan; appears only if enabled), Print Screen, and Exit Online Enrollment. All new page content, based on results of usability testing, designed to improve participant comprehension and reduce support calls. The new enrollment content is independent of the content used for post-enrollment options. New Content Manager option provides searchable content fields (Ctrl+F). Note: No content changes are required except for date-sensitive, site-specific, and userdefined content. Recognizes automatically-enrolled (ACA and QDIA) participants and tailors enrollment steps accordingly. Integrates personal information (including address) and PIN change/recovery (Secret Q&A) information on a single My Information page. Integrates auto-rebalance options with investment choices. New step, My edelivery, captures statement delivery preference (not shown if plan uses estatement only). Built in redemption fee and excessive trading messages. New option provides link for Education and Advice (401k tools, Morningstar, GuidancePlus or Financial Analyzer. New option to capture rollover information. New option to display employer match information. New option to launch third party enrollment tool instead of Schwab enrollment. Participants can exit the wizard at any point and return to complete the enrollment later. All saved information is retained for the next session. Participants can edit their enrollment information in real time (cancellation of pending activity is no longer required). At each step, Previous and Next buttons are provided to allow the participants to return to previous page or advance to the next. Changes are saved only when the Next button (or Finish button, where applicable) is clicked or when the Enroll Me button is clicked at the end of the process. Participants can print the summary page as a record of their enrollment choices. January 2011 Schwab Retirement Technologies Page 40 of 155

Navigation and Processing Rules When the participants click Enroll Now on the Start page, the system guides them through each successive step in the process. At each step along the way, Previous and Next buttons are provided to allow the participants to return to the previous page or advance to the next. Any changes made to the current page are not saved when the Previous button is clicked. Changes made by the participant are saved only when the Next button is clicked. At any time during the process, the participant can return to the enrollment Start page by clicking Home in the Quick Links bar at the top right. At the conclusion of all enrollment steps, the participant reviews a summary page (shown below) and verifies the information by clicking Enroll Me. Enrollment is not complete until the Enroll Me button is clicked. January 2011 Schwab Retirement Technologies Page 41 of 155

Note: In addition to Preview and Next buttons, a Finish button is available for each step in the process if all other steps in the process have already been completed. When the participant clicks the Finish button, the Summary page appears, allowing the participant to confirm all selections and make changes if needed before submitting the enrollment. Incomplete Sessions Ideally, the participant will complete the entire enrollment process in a single session, but if he only completes part of the process and needs to return later to complete the remaining steps, he can exit the process at any time by clicking Exit Online Enrollment in the Quick Links bar at the top right of the page. When the participant exits a session without completing all steps, any changes made since the last time the Next button was clicked will be lost. When the participant returns to finish the session, any previously completed and saved tasks will appear checked on the Start page and he can pick up where he left during the previous session. Saved and Pending Records Behind the scenes, when the Next button is clicked, the system saves the following data immediately and also creates a pending record for activity tracking: PIN/Password Alternate ID Beneficiary Secret Question and Answer. Pending records are also created for the following data when the Next button is clicked; however, this information is not processed until VRS/OPI Update/C552 is run. My Contributions My Investments Realignments Address address. The Enroll Me button queues up pending record to be processed by VRS/OPI Update/C552. Field Help Me Link Third Party URL for Enrollment Definition Designates the service provider to use for the Education & Advice link that appears on the Start page. To use any of the available providers, your site must maintain an active subscription to that service. Your enrollment process must include steps for Contributions and Investments in order to use the help link. Available options: 401k Tools Morningstar Financial Analyzer GuidancePlus None (default) Note to users of MasteryPoint GuidancePlus (2-way): Any investment elections or deferrals the participant selects in GuidancePlus will be automatically applied to the corresponding Schwab RT Online Enrollment pages when the participant saves and closes the help window. 72 Quicken Interface for Participant Web Schwab RT is pleased to announce the availability of Quicken Web Connect, which allow participants to view their 401(k) transactions in Quicken. Quicken is personal financial software that helps you see and manage all your finances in one place. The new Quicken interface uses Web Connect, an OFX protocol that provides connectivity between Schwab RT participant Web and Quicken. Participants log on to your Web site and click the Download to Quicken button on the Transaction History page. Downloaded transactions are automatically matched with existing transactions behind the scenes, and new ones are entered into the Quicken register. Web Connect also lets users access their account logon from within the Quicken software. Implementation of Quicken Web Connect requires you to sign a contract agreement with Schwab RT. Certain information is required to set up your account and to be listed in Quicken s Financial Institution Directory. For this purpose, Schwab RT will provide you with a separate Intuit Financial Institution Branding/Directory Setup Information form to complete. To learn more about the advantages of integrating with Quicken, visit the Intuit site for financial institutions at fi.intuit.com. Note: This initial release of the Quicken download does not offer Direct Connect, which provides the ability to pay bills, transfer money, and other two way functionality. To begin the implementation process for your site, contact Schwab RT Client Services at or schwabrt.support@schwab.com. We will provide you with details on the required contract agreement and branding process. January 2011 Schwab Retirement Technologies Page 72 of 155

Frequently Asked Questions (FAQ) for Participants Participants can access a set of frequently asked questions by clicking on the Help button next to the Quicken Download button in Schwab RT Transaction History. Default content for the FAQ appears below: Quicken Download -- Frequently Asked Questions How do I access Quicken from my retirement account? Open the Transaction History page, select the appropriate date range, and click the Download to Quicken button. What if Quicken is not installed on my computer? If Quicken is not installed on your computer, Windows will prompt you to find or save the Quicken program file but it will not be able to open that file in the application. If this happens, visit where you can purchase and download a copy of Quicken. Can I access my retirement account from within Quicken? Yes. In Quicken, select Online Center from the Online menu, select your Financial Institution, and then click the Update/Send button. The logon page appears, allowing you to access your account on the Web. After logging in, you will automatically be taken to the Transaction History page. Where can I get help on using the Quicken software? If you're having problems that are specific to your Quicken software, such as importing your data into Quicken, please refer to the help information within the Quicken program, or visit Quicken Technical Support on the Web. Why do Placeholder Entries sometimes appear in the Quicken Transaction List? Quicken uses a Placeholder Entry to summarize data for a missing portion of the transaction history. For any given security, if the total number of shares bought or added in a transaction list doesn't equal the number of shares in the account, then Quicken enters a placeholder transaction to make up the difference. Why doesn't the market value of my account listed within Quicken match the market value listed at the bottom of my register? Quicken may calculate market value differently under different circumstances. If you use the Online Quotes & News feature of Quicken to download fund prices, Quicken will use these prices to calculate the value of your fund and display this value at the bottom of your investment register and in your portfolio. If you do not use the Online Quotes & News feature, Quicken may use the share price associated with the most recent transaction involving your fund to calculate market value. If this is the case, then your market value will only be as accurate as your most recent transaction. Keep in mind that the market value listed on the Holdings tab in the Online Center is updated every time you download your account information. The Unit Price listed on the Holdings tab is based on the closing price of the fund from the previous business day. January 2011 Schwab Retirement Technologies Page 84 of 155

Why don't some of my account's transactions listed within Quicken match the transactions listed on my retirement account website? Cash Transactions: You may notice on the retirement account website Transaction History page the presence of Cash Receipts and/or Cash Disbursements transactions. These transactions "net-out" to zero and do not affect your share balances. For efficiency, these "net zero" cash transactions are not downloaded to Quicken. However, any time they do affect your share balance, be assured that they will be downloaded to Quicken's transaction register. Sources: Transactions appearing on your retirement account website will usually be broken down into sources or "money types" (for example, Employee Deferral, Employer Match, Employer Profit Sharing, Employer Money Purchase, etc.). However, in Quicken these same transactions are summed by source. (Exceptions to this are transfers from one fund to another.) For example, on your retirement account website you may see two transactions for the same security on the same day with different sources, say Employee Deferral and Employer Match. However, in Quicken you might see a single BUYMF transaction which represents the sum of the two Employee Deferral and Employer Match transactions. 86 Verifying Investment Holdings If you wish to verify that investment holdings displayed in Quicken match the holdings in Schwab RT Web, do the following: 1. 87 Verifying 401(k) Transaction Data If you wish to verify the accuracy of transaction history in Quicken against the same transactions in Schwab RT, do the following: 1. In Schwab RT Web, open the Transaction History page and use the filter options to select a specific date range (or accept the default range). 2. Access Quicken from the icon on the Transaction History page. 3. In Quicken, on the Investing tab, select Transactions. The Transactions window displays, as shown below. 4. Compare the transactions in Schwab RT with the transactions in Quicken to verify that the data is identical. Note: Use the displayed Schwab RT transactions for comparison or export to an Excel spreadsheet (recommended) using the Excel icon in the upper right. For an illustration of a data comparison between the two systems, see Source Roll Up (Sample Transaction Comparison) later in this document. 88 How Quicken Transactions Differ This section identifies some features of Quicken that differ from the way transaction data is presented to participants in Schwab RT Web. Comparing Transaction Data Elements The table headings used to identify transactions differ between Schwab RT and Quicken, as shown in the following table. Items marked with an asterisk (*) are discussed in more detail later. Schwab RT Transaction Data Transaction Type * Transaction Date Transaction Amount Source Name * Investment Name Units Price Activity Type * Requestor Investment Performance links * (not shown) Quicken Transaction Data Action Date Inv Amt (not shown) Security Description Description (click on transaction to display) (not shown) (not shown) Cash Balance Transaction Types vs. Actions For each investment, Quicken aggregates data by Action type (Bought, Sold, or Reinvest) across all available sources. By contrast, Schwab RT reports investment data by individual source for each investment and Transaction Type. In addition to buys and sells, Schwab RT also reports cash receipts and disbursements, while Quicken does not. January 2011 Schwab Retirement Technologies Page 88 of 155

Transaction Detail In Quicken, when you click on a transaction, it shows a description of the activity and provides options to enter, edit, delete, and attach data, as shown below. Note: For information on using these and other controls, participants should be encouraged to consult the online help and training resources available in Quicken. In Schwab RT Web, when you click on a transaction, the investment performance report for that investment displays. The Schwab RT transaction history includes a separate Activity Type column for each transaction. Placeholder Entry Quicken uses a Placeholder Entry to summarize data for a missing portion of the transaction history. For any given security, if the total number of shares bought or added in a transaction list doesn't equal the number of shares in the account, then Quicken enters a placeholder transaction to make up the difference. In this case, the placeholder represents transaction history that occurred before the date range selected for the displayed transaction history. January 2011 Schwab Retirement Technologies Page 89 of 155

Source Roll Up (Sample Transaction Comparison) Most transactions on Schwab RT Web have a one-to-one correspondence with the Quicken register. Others are totaled across Sources. To demonstrate this difference, we ll compare sample transactions from Schwab RT Web with the same transactions in Quicken. The following table shows the initial display of Schwab RT transactions for the Artisan International Inv fund. For clarity of illustration, some transaction dates have been deleted. On the next page, we ll resort the data and compare it to Quicken to show examples of transactions that are rolled up across sources. Red and blue font is used to identify those transactions. 92 Gadget Home Page (Beta) Gadget functionality for Schwab RT Web is currently being refined and Beta tested by Schwab RT. During this interim period, we re making Gadget options available on a prerelease basis so that you can begin familiarizing yourself with these options and thinking about how to use them to benefit your participants. Gadgets are dynamic, mini-applications that can be added to Gadget Containers to customize the Schwab RT Home page in My Money. Gadgets are created using the Gadget Editor in the Schwab RT Admin. A Gadget Container is a grouping of Gadgets that appear together to create a Web page. The container includes selected Gadgets and determines the positioning of each Gadget as it will appear on the Web page. 98 About Editing Gadgets Gadgets have four basic properties: name, audience, container type, and XML. Gadget XML is similar to Google Gadgets so you can familiarize yourself with their documentation ( Google has built in functions that are not supported by Schwab RT but we have provided some of the more popular features as well as providing variables that make getting data for your audience easy. Refer to the Schwab RT Variables section of this document for details or you can see the variables in action in the Sample_Variables Gadget (shown below) and the Sample_PartVariables Gadget. Gadgets can be as simple as displaying text or an image or as complex as the most complex JavaScript application. You will find examples of both. You are responsible for the content and function of the Gadgets you create. It is possible to affect other Gadgets in the same container or affect the page that the container resides on by using bad HTML or bad JavaScript in your Gadget so be sure to test your Gadget thoroughly before adding it to a container. January 2011 Schwab Retirement Technologies Page 98 of 155

Schwab RT Variables Variables are codes that you can add that are replaced with the actual value from the user s data that the variable represents. For example, the variable ${SESSION_ID} will be replaced by the user s Schwab RT session ID at run-time. This is very useful in customizing and integrating with Schwab RT. Variables are available to use in the following areas: Menu Links Content Gadgets Use Cases Below are some ways that you can use variables in those areas: Menu Links You can pass important information to other Web pages using variables like the sessionid using $(SESSION_ID}. That variable will be replaced at run time like this: will resolve to B Content Your custom content might say Welcome ${PART.FNAME}, which will be displayed as Welcome Linda on Linda s screen and Welcome Bob when Bob logs in. Gadgets Your custom Gadget may have javascript that looks to see if it s the participant s birthday and display a special message saying Happy Birthday when the current date matches the birth month and day. You would embed the variable ${PART.DOB} in your javascript. function getbirthdaymessage() { var currentday = new Date(); var birthday = new Date( ${PART.DOB} ); if(currentday.getmonth() == birthday.getmonth() && currentday.getdate() == birthday.getdate()) { return Happy Birthday ${PART.FNAME}!!! ; } else { return ; } } The ${PART.DOB} and ${PART.FNAME} will be replaced with the currently logged in participant s birth date and first name. 110 Redemption Fees Messages This release delivers significant enhancement of the existing Redemption Fee warnings displayed to participants who request transfers or realignments via Schwab RT Web. Currently, when a participant initiates a fund transfer or realignment, the screen displays information on all investments in the plan subject to a contingent redemption fee. The information does not indicate when the fee will be applied or provide an estimated fee amount so the participant can make an informed decision about proceeding with the request. An example of the current redemption fee warning appears below: With implementation of the new redemption fee messaging, when the participant requests a transaction, the system returns a dollar amount estimate of the fee incurred by each fund involved in the transaction and clearly states how and when the fee is assessed and applied. The redemption fee information is displayed for the participant s approval before the transaction is submitted. Note: Please be aware of the following situation: If the investment has a redemption fee vendor with a minimum fee amount, there is a possibility that the Web could return an estimated redemption fee higher than what recordkeeping would actually calculate. January 2011 Schwab Retirement Technologies Page 110 of 155

Enabling Estimated Redemption Fees Calculation for the Plan To enable the new estimated redemption fee calculation on the participant Web, go to Plan Options>Environment page in Schwab RT Admin and select the Calculate Estimated Redemption Fee option under Web Options, as shown below. January 2011 Schwab Retirement Technologies Page 111 of 155

Redemption Fee Transaction Examples This section shows examples of transfers and realignments with and without the new estimated redemption fee calculation feature. When the Calculate Estimated Redemption Fee option is enabled, a separate estimated fee page is displayed for acknowledgement by the participant. The estimated fee is also included in the confirmation page. If the option is not selected, the estimated fee is not calculated or displayed to the participant. Examples of these pages are included so you can see content changes that are applied to all redemption fee transactions, regardless of whether the estimated fee calculation is enabled or not. The following transactions are illustrated below: Transfers (with Calculated Fee Estimate) Transfers (without Calculated Fee Estimate) Realignments (with Calculated Fee Estimate) Realignments (without Calculated Fee Estimate) Example 1: Transfers (With Calculated Fee Estimate) The following transfer request illustrates the new redemption fee warnings and also includes examples of excessive trading messaging. 138 Appendix: My Money Preview/Transition Note: The following information is reprinted from the September, 2009 product update to provide a quick reference on new features, settings, and links for the new My Money participant Web upgrade. To Preview the new participant site, go to: To Upgrade to the new site anytime within the next 30 days, contact Schwab RT Client Services. For migration information, see Migration Checklist. We are pleased to deliver My Money, the new version of Schwab RT Web for participants. The result of extensive Web usability studies, collaborative Web design session with clients, and advancements in Web design and technology, My Money provides an array of new features to help you grow your business and impress your clients. The My Money release of Schwab RT Web for participants mirrors the look and feel currently available for Sponsor & Advisor sites. The following new elements provide participants with a crisp, convenient, and responsive environment in which to manage their accounts: User-Centric Page Design and Layout Create distinctive, theme-based skins for participants using the same Skin Manager that you currently use to create Sponsor & Advisor skins. Redesigned pages improve usability and comprehension, reducing help calls. Collapsible Menus Interactive menus let participants collapse or expand individual sub-menus. New design eliminates the need for vertical scrolling to view menu options. Enhanced Charts and Tables Intuitive, visually-appealing graphics, with easy-toread tables that can be sorted and resized to meet the needs of individual users. Provides access to all DailyVest graphics in a single, tabbed view. Quick Link Bar Conveniently located at the top right of each page, provides links for Home page, Contact Information (if enabled), Print Screen, Logout, and Pending Activity, which appears in red followed by the number of pending transactions. Account Summary Banner (optional) Displays account information (participant name, plan name, and balance) in the header of all participant pages. Left Navigation vs. Top Navigation Administrators can choose to position the participant menu vertically along the left side (default position) or horizontally along the top of the page, increasing available work space. When working in top navigation mode, menus remain closed, dropping down when the mouse passes over them. The top navigation style is currently used for Schwab RT Admin. Heightened Security New security enhancements ensure that participants can access Schwab RT Web pages only by using the menu options provided to them through Menu Manager, not through bookmarks or other shortcuts. Tighter security restrictions for Single Sign-On will also be available with the new release. For details, refer to Schwab RT Web Single Sign-On (SSO), available from the Resource Center at schwabrt.com. January 2011 Schwab Retirement Technologies Page 138 of 155

Browser Requirements: The My Money participant Web release supports Microsoft Internet Explorer versions 6.0 and 7.0. We are currently testing IE 8.0 and plan to add it to our list of approved browsers in the near future. January 2011 Schwab Retirement Technologies Page 139 of 155

Deployment of My Money to ASP Clients We will deploy My Money in September alongside the current site. You will have access to both the current and My Money sites for 30 days. To preview the new site during the transition period, go to: We encourage you to test the My Money site using your data to familiarize yourself with the changes. During this transition phase, your clients will continue to access the current site and will not experience any change. To discuss a specific date for the "go live" date, ASP clients can contact Paul Boroughs at schwabrt.asp@schwab.com. All ASP clients must be live on the My Money site by Oct. 20, Deployment of My Money to In-House Clients When the My Money site is released in September, Schwab RT recommends that in-house clients deploy the My Money site alongside the current site for a period of testing using your data before moving participants to the new site. Retirement of Old Site Please note that the old participant Web site will no longer be supported with the October release. January 2011 Schwab Retirement Technologies Page 140 of 155

Migration Checklist On September 20, Schwab RT will copy and migrate all Web site elements to the preview site at Notes on individual Web elements are provided below: Skins Menus Content URLs/Links Custom Resources Admin Options Sponsor/ Advisor Image-Based Authentication Existing participant skins will be copied and converted to the new skins. This conversion process will be identical to the recent upgrade of your Sponsor & Advisor sites. Following conversion, we recommend that you view your skins and make any minor adjustment that may be needed. The old skins will continue to be used by participants on the old site during the transition period. The new skins will have the same names as the old skins. Plan skin assignments will not change. Plans that use the default skin in the old web will use your default new skin for the Sponsor/Advisor. During the preview/transition period, both old and new Skin Managers will be available for use. If you need to create a new skin during the transition period, you must create the skin first in the old Skin Manager and then in the new Skin Manager. The old Skin ID and the new Skin Name must match exactly. After your participants switch over to the new site, all skins maintenance will be preformed with the new Skin Manager. Note: If you need to change the plan assignment for a skin template during the transition, we ve added skin codes to assist you in identifying the source of the skin. Skins are marked B for Both old and new Web or N for New Web only. For more information, see New Participant Skin Manager. Enhanced menu design will be applied but no menu option names will change with the exception of DailyVest Chart and Graphs, which are consolidated into a single chart. For details, see Consolidation of Personal Performance (DailyVest) Charts and Graphs. Web page content, including any custom content you have generated using Content Manager, will not change; however, the position of the content on the page may differ slightly to accommodate the new page design. Some new content elements are added in My Money and will co-exist with current content until they are removed after the transition period. Participants must remove any bookmarks and links to the old Web site. For information on new URL and links, see Linking to Schwab RT Web Sites. Any Custom Resources defined on the participant Home page will be lost during the migration. Participants will need to reestablish these custom links following upgrade to the new site. A number of new Schwab RT Admin options are available for use with the new Web site. For details, see New Web Admin Options later in this document. Sponsor and Advisor site were upgraded to the new look in a previous release; therefore, there are no changes to these sites with the My Money release. After upgrading to My Money, Sponsor and Advisors will see the new participant site when they access a participant account. No preview of the participant site is available from the Sponsor/Advisor sites during the transition period. If you are currently using Image-Based Authentication (Vidoop), that functionality will migrate seamlessly to the new Web in October; however, image-based logon options are not available for testing on the new Web during the transition period. January 2011 Schwab Retirement Technologies Page 141 of 155

Consolidation of Personal Performance (DailyVest) Charts and Graphs When you upgrade to the My Money site, the following enhancements are applied to Personal Performance Charts and Graphs: The charts enabled for each plan are automatically consolidated into a single menu option named My Performance, providing a convenient all-in-one view with separate tabs for each chart. New filtering options let users customize the view by source, fund, and period. New Balance History chart (shown below) that tracks your balance history in an individual fund or an account. 145 Enabling Charts and Graphs You can add or remove individual charts from the consolidated view by changing the Charts and Graphs options under Plan Options in Schwab RT Admin, shown below. January 2011 Schwab Retirement Technologies Page 145 of 155

Customizing the Menu Name When your site is upgraded to the new Web, if at least one DailyVest report option is present on the participant menu, the option(s) will automatically be replaced with a single option named My Performance. To change the name of the menu option from the default My Performance, go to Content Manager, select the DailyVest Charts page, make the change, as shown below. January 2011 Schwab Retirement Technologies Page 146 of 155

History Settings A new setting for DailyVest maximum history is available for My Money Web users. The value for this setting is expressed in years rather than days. Enter 1 for the current year, 2 for the current year and previous year, as so on. For purposes of statistical analysis, the minimum recommended history setting for DailyVest chart and graphs is two years (2). Higher settings will reduce response time accordingly. The old setting is retained for clients who have not yet upgraded to the My Money release. January 2011 Schwab Retirement Technologies Page 147 of 155

Account Summary Header Options The new Account Summary Header displays the participant name, plan name, and total balance in the header of each page of the site. This information is taken directly from the Account Information section of the participant Home page. A sample account summary header appears below: You can modify the field names that appear at the left of the header by using the Web Home page in Content Manager (Schwab RT Admin). The color of the header can be modified in the new Skin Manager. The header option is turned off by default. If enabled, the header can be positioned at the right, left, or center of the header bar at the top of the Web page. For plans that display both a logo and co-logo, the logo is best positioned in the center on the bar. Enabling the Account Summary Header To enable the header option, go to Schwab RT Admin Plan Options>Template Configuration>Header Options and select the desired option in the Summary Information field. Available options are Off (Default), Left, Right, or Center. January 2011 Schwab Retirement Technologies Page 148 of 155

Menu Navigation Options The new Web site provides new plan-level menu navigation options. The participant menu can be positioned vertically along the left side (default position) or horizontally along the top of the page, increasing available work space. In top navigation mode, menus remain closed, dropping down when the mouse passes over them. Both configurations are illustrated below: Left Navigation Top Navigation January 2011 Schwab Retirement Technologies Page 149 of 155

Enabling the Menu Navigation Options To modify the menu position, go to Schwab RT Admin Plan Options>Template Configuration and select the desired Menu Option. Available options are Left (Default) or Top. January 2011 Schwab Retirement Technologies Page 150 of 155

New Participant Skin Manager Schwab RT Admin includes a new Skin Manager that you can use to create distinctive, theme-based skins for your participants. This is the same Skin Manager that you currently use to create skins for Plan Sponsors and Financial Advisors, and SchARP users. To access the new Skin Manager, select Skin Manager (PS, FA and New Web) from the Web Options menu in Schwab RT Admin. January 2011 Schwab Retirement Technologies Page 151 of 155

Creating/Modifying Skins during Transition During the preview/transition period, both old and new Skin Managers will be available for use. If you need to create or modify a skin during the transition period, you must perform the maintenance in both Skin Managers, first in the old Skin Manager, then in the new Skin Manager, as demonstrated below. The Skin ID in the old Skin Manager and the Skin Name in the new Skin Manager must match exactly. After your participants switch over to the new site, all skins maintenance will be performed with the new Skin Manager. Note: The Skin Name in the new Skin Manager can contain an unlimited number of characters; however, if you are creating/changing a skin during the transition period, you must restrict the name to the 3-character Skin ID used in the old Skin Manager. January 2011 Schwab Retirement Technologies Page 152 of 155

Skin Codes When working with plan-level skin assignments, you can quickly identify skins that are available in both the old and new Skin Managers by the skin code that precedes the skin name. Skins that are supported by both old and new Skin Managers are marked B for Both old and new Web. Skins that are available only in the new Web Skin Manager are marked N. To access the plan-level Skin Template option in Schwab RT Admin, go to Plan Options> Template Configuration, as shown below. Notes: If a skin with an (N) is selected for a plan, the old Web with use the default skin and the new Web will use the selected skin. The new Web Skin Manager uses your current Plan Sponsor default as the default skin for both participants and Plan Sponsors. January 2011 Schwab Retirement Technologies Page 153 of 155
