4 How to Access the Program MCAS-Alt Forms and Graphs can be accessed online at Alt/login.aspx. This link opens the sign-in page. Click Go to Registration Page to register. To sign out of Forms and Graphs, click Sign Out at the upper right corner of the screen. Copyright 2017 by Measured Progress. Page 4

5 Registration All users must register for the current school year. Enter your address and your password twice. Click Submit Registration at the bottom of the screen. Note: Your password may be any combination of letters and numbers and must be at least eight (8) characters. All passwords are case sensitive. Copyright 2017 by Measured Progress. Page 5

6 My Account Page The information filled in the My Account section of this page will automatically populate on each student s Portfolio Cover Sheet. You may also change your password from this page, if needed. To begin adding students, or to continue working on students previously added, click on My Student List at the top left of the page. Fill in each field. Click on Massachusetts Codes Lookup to search for your district and school codes. Click the Save This Page button when you have finished. Fill in your current password once and your new password twice. Click Change Password. Remember that your password must have at least eight (8) characters and is case sensitive. 7 My Student List From this page, you can add new students, delete students, or access each student s portfolio. Click on Click Here to Add a Student. To begin working on a new student s portfolio, click on Go to Portfolio. Copyright 2017 by Measured Progress. Page 7

8 Portfolio Cover Sheet The Portfolio Cover Sheet automatically populates with the teacher and school information filled in on the My Account page. Other fields must be filled out specific to each student. Information filled in on this page will automatically populate other forms for your student, where appropriate. Be sure to click Save This Page when you have filled in all the fields for your student, or to record any changes. Click Table of Contents to begin building your student s portfolio. Delete New and Student and fill in with the name of the student you are creating a portfolio for. Fill in the student s SASID. This is a 10-digit number that always begins with 10 (e.g., 10XXXXXXXX). Select the student s grade as reported in SIMS. This must be done before you save and leave this page. Note: once you save and leave this page, the grade you select is locked and you will not be able to change it. Copyright 2017 by Measured Progress. Page 8

9 How to Print Each form, graph, or work description label must be printed individually. Click on Save This Page and then click on Printer Friendly. This will open a new tab with a formatted, printable version of the page. Click on the printer icon in your browser s tool bar. Select Portrait or Landscape to orient the page appropriately. 10 Table of Contents The Table of Contents page is used to navigate to the MCAS-Alt forms you will need for your student s portfolio. To begin building your student s portfolio, click on the Strand Cover Sheet Menu link. Copyright 2017 by Measured Progress. Page 10

11 Strand Cover Sheet List To begin adding strands, click on Add a New Strand. Next, click on Go to Cover Sheet. To delete a strand, click the Delete link. You will be prompted to confirm that you want to delete this information. Click OK to complete the deletion or Cancel to return to the Strand Cover Sheet Menu. Copyright 2017 by Measured Progress. 12 Select a Strand The Select a Strand page will list all strands that are appropriate for the grade you selected for your student. If your student addresses learning standards at or near grade-level expectations, click the check box at the top of the list before you select a strand. The page will refresh to reveal strands appropriate for grave-level work. Choose one strand from the list and click Select and Continue. Note: The grade-level check box selection cannot be changed once on the Strand Cover Sheet page. If the selection was made in error, you must return to the Strand Cover Sheet list to delete the strand and add a new strand. Copyright 2017 by Measured Progress. Page 12

13 Strand Cover Sheet A completed Strand Cover Sheet must be included at the beginning of each strand being submitted. Sections 1 and 2 will automatically populate with the information entered in the Portfolio Cover Sheet. Sections 3a and 3b will populate with the content area and strand selected on the Select a Strand page. Select either access skill or entry point. The page number will populate after you click Find Entry Points below. Click on Resource Guide to view the standards, if needed. Select the Learning Standard from the dropdown and click Get LS Text. The Learning Standard will appear on the page below the dropdown. To select a measureable outcome, click on Find Entry Points. This will open a window revealing entry points from the Resource Guide that are appropriate for the selected Learning Standard. Copyright 2017 by Measured Progress. Page 13

14 Click on the radio button for the entry point you choose. This will automatically bring you back to the Strand Cover Sheet. The entry point and the student s first name will populate as shown. Edit the % accuracy and % independence as appropriate for your student. This text will populate on forms and graphs created for the student and can only be edited on the Strand Cover Sheet page. To begin adding evidence, such as a description label, chart, or graph, click on the appropriate link. The screen will refresh and a Go to Evidence Page link will appear at the bottom of the page. Click Go to Evidence Page to begin entering data for that particular piece of evidence. Copyright 2017 by Measured Progress. Page 14

15 Work Sample Description The Work Sample Description can be accessed from the Strand Cover Sheet. Complete and attach one label to each work sample in the portfolio, or write this information directly on each piece of evidence. Do not use this label for data charts or videotapes. 16 Video Description The Video Description can be accessed from the Strand Cover Sheet. Complete one form for each submitted video segment. Insert this page in the portfolio. 17 Field Data Chart The Field Data Chart can be accessed from the Strand Cover Sheet. The student name, strand/content area, learning standard, and measurable outcome fields will automatically populate. Remember to save and print this page. When printing, remember to change the paper orientation to landscape. Accuracy is entered via the drop-down boxes on the line titled Acc. Each drop-down allows a selection of N (no value), a plus (+), or a minus (-). At least 8 different dates are required. For each date you will need to enter the brief description and the percentages of accuracy and independence. Independence is entered via the drop down boxes on the line titled Ind. 18 Bar Graph The Bar Graph can be accessed from the Strand Cover Sheet. The student name, strand, content area, learning standard, and measurable outcome fields will automatically populate. At least 8 different dates are required. For each date, click Edit to allow for data entry. Enter the date, accuracy, independence, and brief description for the date. Remember to save and print this page. When printing, remember to change the paper orientation to landscape. Click Save to confirm the data or Cancel to ignore your edits. 20 Grade-Level and Competency To begin a Grade Level or Competency portfolio, click the check box at the top of the list on the Select a Strand page before you select a strand. The page will refresh to reveal strands appropriate for grave-level work. To complete a Grade-Level Work Description label, click on the Work Description link at the bottom of the Strand Cover Sheet page. To complete a Competency Work Description label, click on the Competency Description link at the bottom of the Strand Cover Sheet page. Note: For a student working at "grade-level," submit Work Descriptions for Grade Level or Competency Portfolios, instead of the Strand Cover Sheet. Copyright 2017 by Measured Progress. Page 20
